Third Party company DNA Design, via their Facebook account, have uploaded images of their newest upgrade kit: DK-22 Gear Master Accessory Series Upgrade Kit for Studio Series DOTM Wreckers.
This is a nice set of extra parts and weapons for the new Studio Series DOTM Wreckers:
- SS-58 Roadbuster – hand gun and arm fillers, extra cannons and buzzaw.
- SS-63 Topspin – hard plastic piece to straight the roof cannons, articulated claw, feet pieces (make the robot look taller).
- SS-68 Leadfoot – roof cannons, extra guns, leg fillers and Steeljaw with chain.
A very nice upgrade kit for fans who are collecting the Studio Series line. This kit is expected for release by July this year.
Check all the mirrored images on this news post and let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

The Topspin parts are damn near essential. The new ankle assembly is a little loose (and it threatens his already limited ground clearance) but it's cool and lets him stand tall with his comrades. The replacement guns/claws are fantastic, especially since my Topspin's guns warped REAL BAD in the packaging. The little clip to keep the roof guns from drooping is a nice touch.
Leadfoot's fillers are perfectly fine, the roof rack is neat but inessential, and I'm shocked I like the chain as much as I do, probably because it gives "steeljaw" some play features besides being an inanimate hunk of plastic.
Roadbuster's accessories… are there. The chainsaw is nice, and it can be wedged between the door panels of the car mode and the robot's thigh reasonably well. The guns and wrist cover things? Eh. I'll give them to a kitbash or something.

Overall, I was left feeling down on the set unfortunately.
Topspin is the definite winner as the feet are really nice and the solid weapons are an improvement (or at least consistent because they won't warp).
Leadfoot's parts are kinda middling, the leg fillers are alright but not amazing, and the rooftop stuff is fine but not really interesting.
Roadbuster's stuff ranges from okay to half-baked. The fact that nothing can really stay in place when transforming is a bummer, but probably unavoidable.
I really feel like if they sold it as 3 kits Topspin would outsell the other 2 by a huge margin.
I hope when Toyhax gets to Topspin they consider making an alternate set of labels that incorporate these DNA feet. Or at worst, I might try to make it work anyway.

The Leadfoot parts are awful. The paint doesn't match. The feet fillers and backpack don't sit flush. It's pretty bad.

Just got mine this week, and I wholeheartedly agree. The Roadbuster kit is very meh (can't get the gun to peg into his hip), Leadfoot is good. I think the Topspin kit offers the most improvement overall though. The extra height is nice and the non-rubbery claws and guns are great.

How come this thread never comes up when I search for it? Ugh, anyways, I actually ordered this from TCP since BBTS STILL somehow doesn't have any stock (wtf are they doing?). Overall it's a nice kit, although the Roadbuster parts kinda suck, and now transforming him involves a ton of partsforming and the chainsaw won't actually fit in the groove in his leg for vehicle mode (pops out and flies across the room). Topspin is much improved but that figure still sucks ass in my mind. Leadfoot was already a good figure but this just makes him better. Only thing is the leash was way too long so I shortened it by about 30% and I like it much more now:

I don't recall, in the movies, is Topspin supposed to be that much taller than the rest? …or is that just a byproduct of the new upgrade parts?

PvP Review up. Overall it's nice.

So, is this finally releasing? I'm mostly asking because I'm more interested in all the other DNA sets that haven't been released yet and I hope that they will have more time now.

Yeah that's probably the lamest part of the kit. I also wish the chain for the dog was like half the length. Maybe I'll take out some of the chain links myself. Anyone with a dog knows that you don't walk them on such a long leash most of the time! I do also wish he was reviewing these with stock versions of the figures. It's much more difficult to see everything with all the extra paint, decals and other mods/upgrades.

for sure. You'd be surprised how common it is for these reviewers to go ham even before receiving kits
all of them roast the addition of Roadbuster's partsformed arm filler panels which is quite funny
Girl Pants
Am I crazy or does that reviewer has some add-ons already applied before adding the DNA kit? They definitely seem to have some paint/decals added (or they're some kind of KO).
eltonlin98
main takeaway from this is that Topspin's new feet do not need to be swapped out for transformation

Yeah a couple eBay sellers I get 3D print stuff from show this and the Shockwave kit as available now, so that's excit!

This has been marked as “incoming” on showz which means it should be in stock soon!

Pre-order up on showzstore.

Oh thank god.
Maybe this will be the impetus for Toyhax to finally do decal sets for these guys. I need those altmodes detailed.
NemesisJazz
They saved topspin with that added height.

It’s finally up for preorder on BBTS.

How do Roadbuster's fists fold into that space with those forearm fillers in? They don't seem to be hinged.

I would love if this team made a kit for the CW Devastator. If not…
…I still need that gawddaman 3D printer.
