Icon Creative Studio To Handle Animation For The Nickelodeon Transformers Series

Icon Creative Studio in Canada will handle the animation work of the upcoming Nickelodeon–eOne Transformers series.

According to an info we received, the show will be in 3D CGI; much like Icon’s previous work. Hasbro’s own Boulder Media Limited will take care of the BotBots animated series.

The studio is know for several stunning animation jobs for titles such as Elena Of Avalor, Disney’s Monsters At Work, and Kong: King Of The Apes.

Official website of Icon Creative Studio has been updated with a placeholder poster for the Transformers show (featured with this news post), and they are also hiring new animators for the job.

Release Date: 2022

Description: Based on Hasbro’s iconic global property, the original animated series co-produced by Nickelodeon and Hasbro’s entertainment studio eOne will follow a new species of Transformers who must find their place and purpose among Autobots, Decepticons, and the human family that adopts them.

I know there isn’t much to go on so far, but this new Nick series feels like it has the potential to be a fresh of breath air.

And the Botbots show is catering to a new demographic that the franchise hasn’t reached out to much. After the nostalgia overload of the past few years it’s nice to see something different on the horizon.

And if neither show ends up appealing to me, that’s fine. I’m not getting bent out of shape if this kids toy franchise doesn’t always compel me.

So to me the Nick show sound like it might be doing beasts, and BotBots I hope is the Beast Wars of the new generation.

Reguardless if CGI is cheaper these days, I wish 2D editing was once again the hallmark for making cartoons. Hopefully this series will be good.

You know…. I’m starting to miss Prime. For all it’s faults, at least it was a competent show that took itself seriously. It seems like ever since Prime the quality of TF shows has just been getting progressively worse, and the age of the target demographic has been getting lower and lower. And no, WFC does not count as an “adult cartoon” or “anime”, because it’s neither of those things despite what Netflix might say it is. And regardless of who it’s aimed at, the quality of the writing and some voice acting/direction is awful.

It’s like the bar for quality when it comes to Transformers fiction just keeps getting lower and lower. Cyberverse clearly had some people who were passionate behind it, but beyond that not much else. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if this show is akin to Paw Patrol, because thats clearly what Hasbro has been pushing for the last few years.

As someone who's doing a rewatch of TFP for the first time in many years, I can confirm that even it at least had the effort and passion that could have made it great. It does quickly go downhill in season 2 and it's already a trainwreck where I'm at, but by god they tried, and they believed in it. I hate to sound so negative, but I'm just aghast at how utterly hollow WFC is, and it leaves me with no hope for Transtormers: The Secret Life of Pets.

Hopefully the 2022 movie will prove to be redemption day, or at least insinuate that Transformers can be good once again, and spark some inspiration and creativity in the era succeeding it.

This studio looks like it\'s capable of decent work.

I\'m far more interested in the tone and the number of episodes per season. I wouldn\'t normally hold my breath for a Nick version of Transformers, but Nickelodeon was behind Avatar as well. The channel has handled serious gravitas in a kids show before; no reason it couldn\'t happen again. Truthfully, they\'re a little overdue for a full-on iconic show.

The last few iterations of Transformers has suffered alot from being way too short. WFC was more like a cut up movie than a TV show. I hope this is a return to full seasons, because it\'s really needed!

So… did Icon work on How to Train Your Dragon? Or are they just using the music for their little demo reel there?

sounds like g1 little g1 series transformer adopted humans , transformers prime same thing, energon cybertron kicker is side kick to ironhide , armada transformers took on team kids again, I say again cartoons and comics did it first movies take ideas from them
