The official Chinese Transformers Tmall have just revealed the new Transformers Masterpiece Movie MPM-12 Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime via a live stream.
This new mold looks like a great improvement in movie-accuracy compared to the MPM-07 Bumblebee. Optimus Prime looks very detailed in robot mode featuring and opening chest with a die-cast Matrix. Alt mode look pretty close to what we saw in the movie and you can attach Prime’s gun on it. The figure has some die-cast parts.
Update #1: The official Transformers Weibo and Taobao have uploaded official stock images.
Update #2: HQ packaging and stock images via In Demand Toys. We have a look at the front and back of the box plus a shot with the Optimus’ open chest with the Matrix and some new extra shots.

It'd be pretty nice if Dr. Wu or a 3rd party replacement could be gotten! Target Customer Support said that they'd look into it. Super nice lady on the other line. She is sympathetic that an out of stock limited time collector item is missing a part. Hasbro Customer Care's site needs some work. After contacting them for a messed up cassette bot, they disabled my email so I can't log in or contact them, unless I make a new email address. Which is pretty asinine.

Outside of contacting customer support from Hasbro, a return is the best you’ll get. Official figures have pretty poor part replacement, so returns and replacements are usually what you can get.

Has anyone had an issue where this was missing its gun? I bought the last one at a nearby Target by pure chance, and when I opened it, no gun. Can confirm that the box was sealed on both ends.
Can't log in to Hasbro Customer Care because they disabled my account after a previous issue either. On the phone with Target Customer Service but I am not sure if they can really help…

Has there been any rumblings of a Nemesis repaint of this mold (official or otherwise), I know there’s a dozen or so BB Prime’s on the 3rd party market getting repainted but I really like the look of this one over them.

It’s been many moons (since MP Tigatron) that I’ve bought an official product. The bot mode on this guy is absolutely stellar. The back is really what blows me away. There’s literally nothing left over. Reminds me of the FT carbots flat backsides. I do have the DNA kit on order, but as is, this is top 3 of the MPMs.

Might have been me. I think it’s mainly due to the tone of blue it was cast in. It’s a lot lighter(and looked like it worked as intended unless the shots were photoshopped) in the initial color sample Takara showed in magazines. The plastic used might share a sprue with the chest windows(which may have been painted over with a translucent smoke grey on the aforementioned color sample, as the windows and eyes were definitely a different color, unless the windows were molded in translucent smoked grey on another sprue). The reds and blues were also less saturated.
Guessing they changed the translucent plastic to a darker blue and ditched the plan to have the smoke grey windows to cut costs(less paint or if they were cast on a different/dedicated sprue before, less tooling).

I forget who mentioned it before, but I find the light piping works okay if you get it at the right angle. It might look good in a display case under a light, but for being on a shelf it never quite hits it right.

Anyone happen to have one they're willing to sell? Went ahead and returned the figure, and now to wait for it to pop up again.

Can confirm mine are the same way. Even after a bit of sanding for the bicep swivel it only helped a TINY bit.

Bicep swivels on mine and inwards upper arm pivots(when pivoting upper arms closer to the body).

So it took me a good while to realize, but I think the right bicep of my Optimus has no ratchets.
Left one is clicky-clicky but the right is all friction.
