SIEGE: "ugh, I'm not an autobot… ITS CALLED STEALTH TRY USING IT. I like to do edgy stuff like scavenge in the wasteland and complain!"
G1: "I'm a vw bug with pink seats!"
Movies: "beep beep beep"
Id say this art is definintly just the original character model (which R.E.D. is based on). I think it actually looks a lot like a Guido drawing that was a concept for pretender bee.
WFC (toy) Bee looks fine in my opinion even if his character is annoying. Actually my main enjoyment of the cartoon is when other bots insult him.
I do find it odd how g1 bee is constantly getting taller and skinnier with each new version. He is evolvong like Shin Godzilla I think.
jametron
How earth shattering, Its. G1. Bumblebee.

I wish the Cybertron modes were as different as they were in G1. Flying saucer Bee was my favorite.
HAL237
Wow! It looks just like… G1 Bumblebee.
RedQueen
Such a shame that the makers of the show are so bad at modeling and animation.
LDM
Cause he is grumpy in the show.
SPLIT LIP
How does the face look so good here and so bad in the show?
TFA Bumblebee didn’t have blades, he had stingers. Little blunt welding tools that could shoot electricity. They also replaced his hands. WFC Bee had little swords that popped out behind his hands, though.

Maybe we can swap the crotch parts form RED action figure Bee and transplant in onto Netflix Bee's?
I kid, I kid….
theestampede
Too bad the toy isn’t closer to this
Smasher
Where's the concept art for his vehicle mode on the show?
Oh… wait, nevermind.
Cardion
He was the O.G. Mini Spy.

Bumblebee having wrist blades was actually a trend for a little while, between Animated, the WFC games, and Battle Blade Bee from the movie line. I'm pretty sure (at least with the first two) that the blades deployed on the inside of his forearms, Ezio-style, so this was probably meant to homage that. Granted, I don't think he used them in the Netflix show so it's pretty moot lol

Don\'t get me wrong, I love the Netflix figure we got because of this guy\'s appearance in the show, but I find this design incredibly boring for siege. I just don\'t get why it\'s just straight up G1 BB without a couple of VW details when all of the other characters (except Wheeljack) have really cool Cybertronian designs.
He just clashes really hard esthetically.
I know a lot of the characters have a lot in common with their G1 selves, but Bumblebee\'s chest is literally a car roof. No Cybertronian details. Just a car roof.
The thing that makes it worse for me is the fact that he hasn\'t even transformed in the show. If we at least saw what he\'s supposed to turn into with that body shape, then maybe my brain wouldn\'t keep telling me that he\'s a VW beetle.
Jakedc1997
So why does Bee have assassins creed hidden blades?
Runamuck86
Concept is probably stretching it a little for bumblebee >
Fc203
Because its not the wfc figure its the model they used for the show
Mercutio
Definitely looks more like the RED Bumblebee to me, not the WFC figure.

Despite Siege’s designs being heavily influenced by the figures, it’s pretty obvious Bee(and Arcee) were most likely designed before their figures final design was approved, meaning they could not be based on the figures, otherwise they woild be.

When the character art design is miles better that the actual toy… especially the cod piece. Sigh.
