I for one, am outraged that they would use cartoony drawings to represent time traveling alien robots that disguise themselves as out of scale earth animals.
Did I punctuate that right? That comma seems misplaced.

And yet you are the one who came up with the term “mentally deficient mongoloid moron.”
I didn’t, at all, I quoted you and used your own words. You then proceeded to use even more words than I did in one hell of a passive-aggressive rant.
Im not offended at all, but it seems you might have been. I just took issue with the idea that if the art does not do it’s job it’s up to the reader to imagine better visuals. That’s like filling plot holes in a movie with your own fan explanations.
Negativedark
Yeah, but that was a Swindle who said that. They probably just don't ask questions about where the merch came from, and pay in full up front. In cash.

Did… Did Hook just bitch-slap Mixmaster?
I'm at a loss on how to feel about that.

Pretty cathartic seeing Biff Tannen get put in his place by the Constructicons.
Yeah, he likes to think he's bigger than Jesus, but he can't exactly bluster his way onto the good graces of giant robots, now can he?

Reign it in. There’s no need to go looking for reasons to be offended. I’m not implying that anyone who doesn’t like the art is a mentally deficient mongoloid moron. That’s an utter projection from your end.
I’m totally understanding of the dislike voiced for the visual direction but it is what is is so complaining isn’t going to change anything. It’s a purely personal comment about how I’m choosing to proceed and handle my own dissatisfaction with the stylistic choices. I’m going to look at the panels and then convert them to something more familiar in my mind. You’re welcome to try that approach or may find more satisfaction in continuing to complain about something that isn’t going to change. Do what makes you happy. Just don’t put words on my mouth.

IDW can't get its shit together, this is known. The Back to the Future crossover came out in fucking October and we still haven't gotten to issue three yet!

On Comixology, it now says Transformers #28 won't be available until March 31st? I thought it was coming out on the 3rd?
And -I think- wasn't it saying it would come out some time late February before and then had switched to March 3rd? What is going on?

So between Page 3, Panel 4 and Page 4, Panel 5, the Vok have actually frozen time, if Rattrap's dialogue is anything to go by.
OrionPaxG1
Then why the hell did they bother giving us the full 5 page preview the day it was supposed to be shipped. What is going on at IDW?

So everyone who doesn’t like the artwork is, what, not using their brains?
Because that’s a pretty pisspoor attitude to take towards anyone who’s critical of the art.
You act like this isn’t only the second issue. With every new issue the topic becomes relevant again.
Also, maybe they’re here because they like Beast Wars, like the story, and still want to read it, but to them the art makes that difficult and/or poorly represents that story?

It's one thing to not be a fan of the new BW comic's art.
It's another thing to *still* be going on about it in every BW comic discussion months later.
We get it, why are you still here?

Although I am far more fond of the Don Figueroa style, I’m happy to put my brain to use and let my imagination bring the panels to life in my own head.
It’s a totally foreign style to me so definitely helps distinguish this version of the Beast Wars as it’s own canon and isn’t without its charm.
What matters most to me is the interpersonal dialogue and that the writer understands the characters.
I liked that the a Maximals were butting heads from the get go and that Primal outright stated that he’s all about the action and a little miffed at getting lumped with a babysitting gig after his fresh promotion to Captain. In the show I always thought damn this bot is armed to the teeth and pretty handy in a fight for a deep space explorer charged with simple reconnaissance. Well, bam, now he’s basically JJ Abrams’ Kirk. He seems overly eager to put the crew at risk though so I’m hoping he learns a hard lesson at some point and really grows into his leadership role.
Im not sure what to make of the Preds in #1. Tarantulas basks in chaotic destruction, Terrorsaur basically says ‘come at me, bro’ on Cybertron and Dinobot spares a cowardly, defenceless Maximal from Terrorsaur because there’s no ‘pride’ in it. I just had to mentally autocorrect that one to ‘honour’ for my own sake even though you can spin it to basically mean the same thing- no honour in the act so you shouldn’t derive any pride from it. I just see pride as a self serving feeling of reward whereas honour is a set of moral values one upholds regardless of the personal consequence and one of Dinobot’s defining attributes and motivations for his actions. It’s just one word but it came from my favourite character’s mouth so I’m gonna get picky.

So the Vok’s out of the bag right away, huh? Makes me wonder what’s to come if the “big reveal” is already done.
Then why does Rattrap’s face barely change at all between panels?
Like I’m not kidding. Same expression, same angle, only the corners of his mouth change. (Obviously not counting the two panels that are duplicated to show time freezing) Given how expressive the robot modes are, Rattrap looks like a puppet. I think Josh is a great artist, but these characters look and feel particularly stiff given his dynamic style and knack for expression.
I also feel like his animals aren’t quite there. Rattrap shouldn’t have such pronounced shoulders. Nix was like this in her character art at the end of last issue, too. They’re drawn a lot more like people in animal suits, without the “fat and fuzz” that covers the skeleton. Rattrap’s arms shouldn’t be coming out so much from the sides as closer to the bottom of his chest, as though emerging from the aforementioned fat and fuzz.
