Thanks to 2005 Board member BenjaminXavier and Terrorcon0 for sharing in our Board images of a new Transformers Kingdom packaging variant.
As we can see from the comparison pics, one box has a printed cardboard hang tab while the other has the more common clear plastic hang tab. So far, it seems this variant has been found in the Deluxe class boxes.
Additionally, we can also spot a difference in the way how Warpath Kingdom is placed inside his box. In the cardboard hang tab, we can see that Warpath has his arms tied to the cardboard, while in the plastic hang tab box there are holes cut so the overhanging part of the arms can go into the tray.

It's times like these I'm glad I'm not a box collector

My PaleoTrex has a Card board tab with the Predacon Glyph on it.
Odd though, how these guys seem to feel as though the Gimmick/ concept was as allWays there… I can Imagine G1/G2 Early BW versions.. My mind blows everytime I think of the concept of a G1-ish fossalizer Gestalt.. G1 would have rocked , So F-ing HARD !, had we actually gotten it ? It would have broke the the Internet emediately .. Less bone reconfiguring and more Skeletal BW Designs.. much akin to the Magnaboss /Magnaboss ll \" Second \" Tripledacus/Tripredacus.. all this talk reminds me of Machine Robo Follalsairus?( I think ,lmao!).
QUICK, HASBRO/TAKARA TOMY get on it quick.. lol..

I think it suits me with the printed tab, it gives more presence to the box.
So I have to order in virtual stores… mmm… I was going to wait in commercial stores, but this makes me change.
Chaos Muffin
Bought my Warpath & Black A from Walmart.. both clear tabs.

the MISB collectors will appreciate the variants. in most collecting hobbies, variants are desirable. i've collected stamps, coins, beanie babies, Star Wars, etc

Got them with the cardboard tabs from Walmart….. why does anyone even care?

to me atleast. Opinions are opinions. And they are not always empty cuz when I don't use my toys they are back in box. Not to mention they take up shelf space but as long as my collection is as small as it is now, consisting mostly of knock-offs, I get to keep them

Do your empty cardboard boxes spark joy?

Lol, loving the replies. I'm not a big packaging variant guy, but I wanted to make sure it was logged somewhere so in 5 years when someone starts a thread arguing about the packaging we can all revert to these old threads to show what was what.
Pushan Halder
Exceptionally for me anyway. Cuz I collect boxes of whatever toys I get.

I posted this a month ago. It's not as cool as rock bubbles, but… (Kingdom packaging variant)

I have been collecting way too long (25 years as adult) to open everything. I have lost one collection so far (all my original beast wars and early 2000 figures) but since then I just open the Primes Megatrons & star characters. But I see nothing wrong with your way and hopefully one day I'll have the room to do such same things.

It’s not just one or the other at one store. I got Warpath and Paleotrex from the same Target, and while Paleotrex has the clear tabs, Warpath has the cardboard tabs. Cheetor and Blackarachnia are also clear tabs. Didn’t see what the Deluxes I found at a Walmart had with their tags, and all the ones I’ve found at Target were from the back, so I can’t judge. But just to let everyone know for the future, it doesn’t seem to be a retail exclusive thing.

Hasbro is a train wreck.

I don't know about all this packaging variants, but I do know my Kingdom Leader Megatron came with 3,456 plastic ties to keep him in the package.

The nice thing about these packaging changes is they’ll look the same in my trash compactor.

We totally miss those. Adding that to our story with your credit of course. Thanks!

I noticed that target got the plastic hangers and walmarts got the plastic hangers with the added cardboard part. Not sure why this is the case, and probably doesn\'t matter that much.
