Third Party company have shared, via their Facebook account, our first look at the test shot of their XTB Fioravanti (G1 Omnibot Overdrive).
X-Transbots takes the chance to bring us our first updated mold of the G1 Omnibots for the Masterpiece scale. As we can see from the image, robot mode looks pretty well sculpted and catches the spirit of the original G1 toy.
Pricing and other release info are yet to be revealed so stay tuned with TFW2005 for more updates. Click on the bar now and join to the discussion on the 2005 Board!

Hoping for Newage to do them. But so far it's been only toon characters who get dedicated molds.
Maybe someday.

I agree— considering these figures are obviously aiming for fidelity to the original toys, XTB’s Supra should not have a wing on the hatch. If I were buying the car itself, though, I’d want a P-type manual-transmission model with the wing.
I’m hoping that one of the 3P legends companies issues the Omnibots. If Hasbro made better stuff, I might even buy their versions.

The deck/window visor *might* have been more prevalent on the L- or P-Types by 1984 and later in some markets, but besides the likelihood that the Double Changer Toyota Celica XX was probably designed between 1981 and 1983, the point is that the original toy (and thus the only source) did not have this optional part. I quite like the visor, but choosing to put one on is like…deciding that your Cliffjumper won't have a spoiler, or that Sunstreaker won't display an exposed (dual turbo charged?) engine or the like.
I have a fondness for 1981 – 2002 Supras, so I'll probably give Keith & Co. one more purchase, but even if it's Tha Bestest 3P Produkt Evar! it's still probably my last product from them.

Overdrive ended up going on my alternate/diaclone colored vehicle mode shelf (with figures like blue Bluestreak, Loudpedal, Exhaust, etc). I really didn't enjoy the robot mode, but I was happy to have a Ferrari to mix up the stack of lambos and Datsuns.

I’ve been drooling over A60 Supras since I was a kid, and I sorely regret not buying a blue one I found for sale when I was in college in the early 90s. I think you’re correct that the high rear wing was optional, but I would guess that 95% of ‘83-‘86 models that I’ve seen had it. It was rare that I saw one without it, and I thought those looked a bit odd as a result. That said, the original toy didn’t have the wing, so maybe it would be more appropriate if this one didn’t, either.
Downshift might be XTB’s last opportunity at another purchase from me. I was excited about Overdrive until I saw in-hand pics. I love the old Supras too much to pass up on this figure if it’s decent, but I’ll regrettably take my money elsewhere if it’s another miss.

I didn't say I liked the feature (or even thought it was anywhere near necessary), only that I think that is what it is for. As always, I could be wrong – X-T and KFC do make some bizarre choices.
primetime77
frankly, i'd rather the leave t4he feature out because it makes another panel break thats not REALLY needed IMO.
ILoveLuci4
Probably.
I don't know why, but I don't care about Camshaft (still laugh at the misnomer) as much as others; I still think first generation Savannahs/RX-7s are cool, but not enough to overcome a dull color and design. He just seemed generic to me.
So yeah, if Not-Downshift is as disappointing as Fioravanti (with the still sub-floor expectations), I'm done with KFC and X-Transbots. Of course, then they'll announce and release Bumper, Scrounge, and Rack 'n' Ruin figures that are the tits. Oh, well…

everyone who’s eyeing this is!

Phew, glad it's not a spurious hole for a steering wheel like what happened with Runabout

I don't think I could stop with 2 out of 3, if I had the first two I think I would feel obligated to get the third (which you may mean now that I think about it, the wording could be interpreted either way).
Of course that is just theoretical for me, I wasn't confident enough in the looks of Overdrive to get him in the first place and after reviews just decided to gamble on someone doing them. The odds do seem low, but I think I would be happier taking that risk than buying XTB Overdrive.

Good eye!
This is – for me – X-Transbots' last chance to make a figure I don't hate. I made a rule a couple of years ago that I would only buy figures from KFC/X-Transbots that I'm nearly certain that no one will ever attempt (again). Then I (foolishly) bought Not-Overdrive, which was a delicate piece of expensive garbage. I will NEVER transform that figure again (thanks for shipping these in vehicle form, X-Transbots!) and suspect I'll never get to the mods I want to do to make it a poseable action figure.
Ehhh…Do we have any idea if they're going to put that hideous paint on Not-Downshift here?
I noticed they put the upgrade/optional….spoiler? Foil? Guard? on this Supra. Why? It wasn't on the original, and I'm fairly certain that that piece was an optional upgrade on the original vehicle…in the West, anyhow. Some of this company's decisions sometimes puzzle me to no end.

Thank you, that makes total of sense, I will ignore it as a potential issue from now on.

As that is EXACTLY the spot where an Autobot sigil sticker was placed on the original, I suspect that it allows for such a badge to be hidden or displayed according to preference.

Does anyone have any idea what the panel on his left lower leg is for? Looking through the pictures I don't see any reason for it. I considered something for transformation to get access into the leg, but I don't know why they would need it on only 1 leg. I have no idea about the real car to know if it might be related to that or not.

I think he looks great and take them for what they are. My nitpick is the same as with Overdrive, the waist looks broken up with hardly any substance. It only looks solid from a direct frontal view otherwise it looks like a lot is missing. I don't understand why the waist can't look whole like Runamuck and Runabout since the hip/waist parts are all integrated and rotate with the leg. Just seems like an overlooked detail

alt mode is pretty on the spot. robot mode is good but a bit mixed bag there. it seems like most of his feet are a giant blocky heel spur. haha. maybe its backpack is super unbalanced necessitating this design or they just couldn't find another place for that stuff. haha. torso is a bit small but i guess the g1 inspiration was that way too. anyway looking forward to it. my mp collection would never be complete if not for xtb making omnibots. bring it on, and make it great, don't rush it out, but please release it this year if possible. if not, wait til after CNY 2025. lol.

Man, I was reluctant to get excited about Omnibots, since they're not specifically in my collection needs list. That has since changed, and I've gotta say I'm becoming more and more impressed with how cleanly packaged these guys are in alt mode. That underside is beautiful. I know no one shows the underside and no one else probably cares, but it feels like evidence of the maturation of the designer(s) (just Keith, or a whole team? I dunno) when they clean up that nicely.
