Thanks to 2005 Board members Galaxius84 and 03Mach1 for sharing in our boards photographic proof of their sighting of the Walmart Exclusive Wave 1 Retro Headmasters.
The first wave of these reissues of the Titans Return molds with a new deco and the retooled heads used in the Takara Tomy Legends versions include Chromedome, Brainstorm, Hardhead and Mindwipe. They were spotted at Walmart stores at Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati in Ohio and Florida. These toys were officially revealed months ago even with listings but pre-orders never went live. We are glad these toys finally showed up at Walmart stores, considering they had been available in Hong Kong and other countries in Asia previously.
Happy hunting!

As far as we know there's just the two waves, consisting of only the characters that were G1 Headmasters.
Alpha Omega Trion Supreme
So maybe Grotusque and Misfire down the line?
They're the two I'm missing from TR, and the aftermarket prices are a bit much.
Robogeek28
None at my local Wal-mart yet.
AilaSunstruck
I haven’t seen anything in the Walmarts at Thomas Rd. or Mesa Riverview. Riverview has Kingdom now though

Not exactly, you didn't!

Passing, got them in Titans Return!

I'm seeing a pattern, a sea of Grapples, Snapdragon and the rest of the stuff you mentioned. I also read that Siege Elita-1 is shelf warming(?). Yet in other parts of the world they are like what da EF, like a search for Waldo. Dumped all and distributed half hazeardly to all the 50 states
Fenrys
recreating the mold isn't free, that cost gets trickled down to the customer. And it wasn't restoring/fixing an existing mold, they had to create an entirely new mold which is one of the most expensive aspects of figure production

Or as I do, you live in a major hotbed of scalpers.
all are dead
3/4th of the walmart reissues rotted on shelves. Optimus, Hot Rod, Blaster, Astrotrain, Soundwave. People say "its because of the price being hiked". Well if you want G1 reissues nowadays, then thats the price theyre mostly gonna cost. Its the price of materials. Those arent cheap to manufacture, and are more expensive to ship due to weight.
This is the G1 feel with the newer, cheaper, and better toys.
Fafnir72
With new technologies now, restoring the new molds are more expensive now? Besides that, if Takara could sell that MP-44 monster price tag, what's a little for the little truck that started it all?
I used that as a point of argument, because, well, it's Optimus. And the ER trailer is like, man, it was so half hazard stripped down………
How far have we gone down now? Hasbro can move Jabba's Sail Barge and not Optimus original G1? Are we to the point of moving awesome things through crowdfunding?
Disclosure: I do own several versions of the OG Opimus so it doesn't affect me as much as having other fans have the same "wow" experience with the original set with the trailer, launching Roller and the role playing with "Autobot Headquarters etc. Sad.

The toys looked like robots. The animation looked like humans. Transformers are robots. They don't need eyes, nose & a mouth constantly. I can't stand all the human faces that totally ruined the cool robot faces from the original toys. Trailbreaker, Tracks, Brainstorm, Jetfire, Omega Supreme, Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Huffer, Windcharger to name a few. So many awesome looking characters were ruined by the stupid animation.
Even worse is what they did to the Gobots. That cartoon is an abomination.
Fenrys
Optimus' trailer was missing from the walmart reissue because they had to create an entirely new mold for Prime, the previous molds were too degraded. This is also part of why just the cab cost $50usd. Including the trailer would have increased the price further due to that needing a new mold as well

Look, don't get me wrong, I love Handsome Squidward Brainstorm, but If they're selling this shit to me in a G1 box, I want that horseshoe-faceplate, Frank Welker-ass Rebirth Brainstorm that I grew up with, baby

Hey! I resent that! [continued below]………….
……I love myself those bricks that can also serve as the following stuff Cardion mentioned
Besides the clusterfk that was GodFireConvoy, the only company I would trust to do a re-issue/Encore type for the original Headmasters and Jrs would be Takara (Yup, same company stuck to the hip with Hb ) but compare their releases (TFC and Encore) over the Hb ones (Commemorative
). The recent SW, cassettes and minobots were kinda okay but Devs and Blaster (the mold is really showing its age) are like subpar. Why'd they ditched Optimus' trailer?
And yup! I'll accept the ungodly price ranges if there are improvements on them. Encore Metroflex has some improvements with Slammer etc etc.
GizmoTron
Hey, I like the original G1 Headmasters as much as the next guy, but part of the reason people like these retro ones is because they're only like $20 and not whatever ungodly price Hasbro would have likely charged for actual reissues (assuming Hasbro would have even remade more than one and not just did say Chromedome and called it a day).

Gawd!, These look so good.
