Via PrimevsPrime on Youtube we have our first in-hand images of the new Transformers R.E.D Wave 2 Cheetor.
Cheetor is our first Beast Wars character in the new R.E.D action figures line. As we can see from the images, this mold really catches Cheetor’s cartoon design and includes several extra hands, parts and blast effects. Posability seems to be even better than the first R.E.D Wave 1 G1 figures. You can detach some part like the Cheeta head on his chest to reveal extra inner details. For those wondering about scale, there are some comparison shots of R.E.D Cheetor next to his Mastepiece and Kingdom incarnations plus some group shots with other new Kingdom figures. Cheetor is part of R.E.D Wave 2 together with Transformers Prime Arcee who we had seen some in-hand images before.

I'd love a bunch of obscure repaints out of all of these guys.
Diaclone Devastator anyone?
![[IMG]](https://i.redd.it/tlfsrysqzpg41.jpg)
Or Shattered Glass Devastator?
Devastator has never made an appearance and the Constructicons only made brief cameos but we can see what kind of colors Devastator would be.

Sadly, SuperSlacker slipped into a coma in which he never recovered from.

It might make it to fruition, as reaction advertises a devastator in its line.

BTW, @Nemesis Baser you're due for a challenge… almost free4all.
Joshb721
If RED ever evolves to having build-a-figures, I could definitely see that happening. I'd be down for it.
Nemesis Baser
Nothing has been said about one being made. It was just a joke.
Venixion
There's gonna be a RED Devestator?
gibdozer
I could see going in on that. Especially if the individual robots "fit" well enough in with the mainline for me.
Starcron
I want R.E.D. Devestator to be a build a figure while the constructions are regular figures that the parts come with.
gibdozer
So not looking forward to RED Devastator then? Me either…

Not trying to start an argument here, but when did they say they weren't gonna scale even with other RED figures? I must have missed that. They're advertised on Walmart's website as 6 inch scale, which as a Legends/Black Series collector implies that they're tall relative to 6 inches, not that they're all 6 inches tall exactly. Before I saw the figures I would have assumed characters like Smokescreen, Bumblebee and Knockout would be around 6 inches each, while Arcee would be a little smaller and Optimus would be larger. It doesn't make me want the figures I was already planning to get any less, it was just a bit of a disappointment when I saw how the line didn't, in fact, abide by any sense of scale with itself.

I am neither a hasbro hater nor a hasrbo lover. I just want good toys regardless of who makes them.
When RED was announced, I was stoked. Cartoon accurate bots that were affordable and did not take up much space, sign me up. After seeing the first wave, I was happy enough to go all in. Then after seeing starscream and Bumblebee, yeah…not so much.
My heart is with the MP line and scale, but I just can't justify the cost. Its not that I can't afford it, it's just that I don't want to anymore. Every figure is a minimum of $150 anymore and I just don't have the stomach to plunk that down when I have a house, a wife, 3 cars and a raging cocaine habit…. ok, that last one is not true.
This line was supposed to be my savior for a toon accurate season 1 bot collection. Guess not.
Thank odin for toymakr3d and his awesome work. I will just print those instead.

I know, but every time Hasbro/Takara makes a mistake due to laziness/thoughtlessness, you have this chorus of people saying they totally did it that way on purpose. When RED suddenly ends ("goes on hiatus"), it'll totally be on purpose too and we'll hear how the market just wasn't ready for it yet or some other blame shift.

They aren’t though. And that’s my biggest problem with the line. We’ve seen from Cheetor and other design sketches that at one point there were intended to be super-posable, but a significant amount of that articulation was cut prior to production.
As it stands, they don’t have as much articulation as Marvel Legends, etc and don’t have as much articulation as some transforming retail releases. So what’s the point?
gibdozer
Except they aren't super posable. Or super anything…

The Box is ALWAYS right! So, 3P figures are not "Transformers" even though they transform because the packaging determines Identity? Honestly I'm not being a dick I'm trying to see where you're coming from with this. Is it a hard line, or does it move at your own whim.

GizmoTron
No, that's Optimus Prime because it says as much on the package. It's no more just a red and blue truck than the RED figure is just a red and blue robot.
You guys get too caught up over semantics, which is fine for your collections and what you buy or whatever, but the long short-end of it in reality is that toys that may not be text book "transformers" like RED are still very much "Transformers".

GAUGE
R.E.D. isn't scale centric nor was it ever intended to be in the first place.
R.E.D. is and always was intended to be it's own thing so people crying about scale are wasting their time.
The figures are fine as is. sure the colors may not be perfect but they are designed exactly as they were always advertised to be: 6 inch super poseable Action figures.
They aren't supposed to scale with each other and never were suggested to be so in the first place.
Again they're 6 inch "Action figures". Celebrating the Robot Modes of the characters they are based from.
Joshb721
Yeah, it's very frustrating.
smkheidze
Especially when they don't stick to a scale and their esthetic. Choices are all over the place.
