Thanks to our very own Fc203 we can share for you some new stock images of the upcoming Transformers Kingdom Wave 2 Deluxe Arcee, Ractonite, Huffer & Airazor figures.
We have clear pics of both modes of these figures as well as their respective packaging. All of them are new molds but Arcee who is a repack of her Earthrise release.
See all the images after the jump and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Board!

Not being contrary, but FunPub's Machine Wars Starscream* is my favorite version.

I don't think I have the Depth Charge version, but I have multiples of the rest as a bad ass phalanx
*Not because I think he looks like MW SS, but just because the deco is great

Hell, the newly released Cyberverse Deluxe Prowl has hinges on the back of his legs, and he's a Cyberverse figure.

Well, I meant that back during the "balljoints everywhere" design phase of Beast Wars/RiD/et al, there were just as many hollows and nobody ever really complained then. People complained like crazy for PotP.
Phamduc
More like survive through POTP because heck BW era still holds pretty well but you know the gist

And?
Hot Rod ships in the same wave as Kup, who still has plenty of exposed hollows on his backside.
Again, nothing to ever suggest that there's a design standard there.
The fandom managed to live through the entire Beast Wars era without complaining about hollow parts.

I think I can help clarify things: Huffer probably could have had flaps that cover the back of his calves, but at his relatively small size, in order for them to be thick enough to be reasonably durable they might cause ground clearance issues in vehicle mode (unless they were to make the vehicle mode sit unreasonably high off the ground), unless they were separate pieces (which would then aggravate the "no partsforming" crowd, etc. etc.). Or, in vehicle mode, they could flip between the lower legs, but then at this small size that could make the lower legs look too skinny in robot mode. It's a set of compromises. Hot Rod could solve that by having an actual extant part of the car fill in the back of the legs, and Sideswipe was larger enough that it didn't cause as much of a ground clearance problem.
JJJ
No, not end of story.
SS86 Hotrod. They found a way to cover the backs of those legs. I'm perfectly willing to pay higher prices for that.
And if you don't want higher prices, well, they did the legs perfectly well with Sideswipe and Red Alert. And those are just the toys I have. Pretty sure its been done elsewhere.
Spoiled? Whatever. I prefer to think of it as aspirational instead.
SPLIT LIP
Space Case is the ultimate version of the mould, FWIW.
Shame the tridents always disintegrate at the hinge.

Necroing is only against the rules if you're not contributing to the discussion or community in a constructive way right? I think juxtaposing the design philosophies of that era with that of the present would make for interesting commentary.
I have to disagree personally, Terradive's colors appeal to me more, but yes, TFCC Depth Charge does look fucking awesome regardless.
Gepard
He's even better as the TFCC Depth Charge recolor. They're all over ebay for about $35.

The point isn’t for them to have no gaps necessarily, warpath has plenty of gaps in his mold. These minibots are however much more articulated than they would be at legends/core class, which is part of the point
AutobotAvalanche
Having just acquired one, he is.
Am I gonna start having to necro ancient review threads? Teaching people the old ways?
Applejacktimus
2010 HFTD Terradive, from what was the golden age of Transformers toys IMO. He's even worth the aftermarket prices, I'd say.
Jeddostotle7
Terradive, from the Hunt for the Decepticons line from 2010.
mx-01 archon
That's Terradive from the Revenge of the Fallen toyline, back in 2009.
RustedCross
Who is this Transformers? What’s it from?

Yeah, but isn't one of the selling points in having minibots at deluxes is to have no gaps? Also, its hard to imagine not just having two flaps to cover up the gaps couldn't have been easily done. Doesnt matter to me in that I'm not interested in huffed, but I like pipes, so yeah this kinda bothers me.
Skreeonk
I'm just excited that we're getting a Huffer and Pipes that's not a repaint of core Optimus.
In all seriousness, Huffer looks great, & has me pumped for my #1 want in Kingdom (aside from maybe Galvatron): Pipes. I'm eager to see how much remolding he gets. My speculation is, he won't come with a gun like Huffer, but the pipes that attach to his arms will double as the sides of his truck bed.
(Also, it would be pretty cool if we got Huffer repainted as Puffer…)

Why do people act like that hasn't been a design aspect in Transformers from Day 1? Any Transformer designed to have the legs flip over and encompass the thighs probably has hollow shins. That's how it's always been.
Not sure at what point we got so spoiled that aesthetic perfection from every single angle suddenly became a make-or-break design issue, when it's nothing we've ever been offered in the entire 35-year history of the brand. At least, not without paying an extremely hefty premium for. And even Masterpiece isn't 100% perfect in that regard. Transformation design, and plastic engineering needs hollow spaces. End of story.

A new Hubcap? Already?
