I find it odd all the shared universe stuff has been delisted from comixology but now this collection is coming out there digitally too. Anyone know why they were delisted? I know they weren't the best comics but we lost a MTMTE and RID one shot there.

Yeah, there's no comparison to be made. The IDW Collection hardcovers just take a bunch of existing comics IDW already has digital masters for, and plonk them into a hardcover.
The Classics UK books involved lots of new scanning of material and stacks of new commentary which needed writing, editing and laying out.

=)
as much as I
A) like the UK classics
B) Am not a fan of the IDW “shared universe”
I can recognize the demand for the former is likely outstripped by the latter (to say nothing of the costs likely being lower to produce the latter as well).

* I searched for a thread on this but didn't see this one. Anyways, I'm happy to get my preorder in

I guess we just figured Revolution and everything after was just the second half of phase 2
Agamus
That is the point, yes. They just fail at it completely. TFWiki even has a section dedicated to how bad Phase One is on each volume's article, and partway through Phase Two they gave up doing it because it just kept getting worse.

This announcement is the first time that the name is called Phase 3, and I think they called it previously Season 3, which I prefer because the comics of Transformers are the continuations of the previous comics, the writers are the same and the plots are a direct continuation of the previous plots, the only changed is the name, and TAAO began before Revolution and finished later. The parts of Phase 1 have less connections with each other than this Phase 3 with the Phase 2.

What does this mean? I thought the whole point of the hardcovers was to put it in some preferred reading order or something?
JustAnotherCassette
Windblade on the cover again?

To be fair, just because IDW is making it doesn't mean that's where the money is. These days it's not at all uncommon for publishers like IDW or Marvel to just pump out content that people don't want.

Every time I hear about these collections butchering the chronology of IDW1 again part of me dies inside.
I mean it's pretty obvious where the money is, as much as I hate to say it.

Please tell me you aren't being serious with this response. I'm begging you, you make this way too easy for me.
The UK classics are an IDW book, just re-releasing the UK Marvel run and unlike the majority of IDW's own TF continuity, is a lot better overall. You realize this is a thing comic companies do, yes?
jackgaughan
Aye I wonder why IDW would be more interested in releasing IDW comics than Marvels.
BlaminisPrime
I didnt even know they\'d call it Phase 3!! I guess its more conclusive that way! Anyway, looks like i need to catch up on IDW GI Joe!!
Dinoprime09
Interesting I always figured if there was a phase 3 it be from Revolution onwards didn\'t actually think that was the official terminology that HASBRO or IDW or whoever was using. Frankly I never minded the whole Hasbroverse idea even if the continuity with G.I. JOE was a bit jarring at times. I always thought the likes of ROM and Micronauts were the best reads if anyone\'s wondering what\'s worth getting into. Other than Transformers ROM probably had the best closure too in his own story.

Gotta love how they're more interested in giving us all of this shit-show than giving us the rest of the UK collection.

The prices on Phase 2 are going up, ive officially stopped buying these in order of volume lol.
Whatthechuck3
I'd just like them to finish the ding-dang UK collection…it's so hard to get those books stateside.
Kaynowa
Wait there were three phases? I thought it was just two, splitting at Death of Optimus Prime?
Dark_T_Zeratul
The Hasbro Universe idea actually came from IDW, not from Hasbro, as they were plotting their various Hasbro books and got the idea that they could be connected.
