Via an article in VR Focus website we can confirm that Minority Media have revealed a new Virtual Reality game: Transformers: VR Invasion.
This is the second VR Transformers game under Minority Media, after Transformers: VR Battle Arena. As we can see from the promotional images, the game will feature the Evergreen designs and will provide a “player vs environment” experience. Four players will be put in a human perspective as they help the Autobots fight off hordes of Insecticons. Characters who will be making an appearance include: Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Megatron and Soundwave. The game will be launched at location based venues at the moment.
Transformers: VR Invasion will premiere at the following locations: US family entertainment centres Kalahari Resort (Poconos, PA), Airway Fun Center (Kalamazoo, MI), and Compass Entertainment (Irvington, VA). Through a partnership with TEEG, Minority Media will bring the videogame to multiple Kingpin bowling locations in Australia.

No. Not at all.
The entire point of the Evergreen designs is that they're NOT relating to a certain continuity or era. They're not "Modern G1" because they're not G1. Your Sonic example, where characters were given a redesign when switching from 2D to 3D games (but were still from the same continuity), is nothing like the situation at all.

Just wanting to note, that Kingpin bowling posted a reply to that fb posting, telling us that they already have the second VR game at the two Australian locations that have the TFs VR gaming hardware, and now have both games available for people to play… so I'm I going to have to go check it out, as one of those two locations are in my city.

I mean at least they used the good evergreen designs. I'm honestly not a fan of these VR experiences using venue-based setups. VR is on the extreme end of the escapist medium, so why try to adapt it into cooperative, same-room, local 'games'. Having to go to a place and reserve a spot works for things like escape rooms, sure, but why not just release a larger VR game for PCs instead of forcing players to drive all the way to a location in order to play what's equal to a free demo or a 5 dollar arcade shooter. With work on proper locomotion systems and gameplay depth, the TF universe could be a great setting for a larger project. I don't know how to really feel. Hasbro is taking a step in the right direction with more focus on technology and video games, but I can't help but feel like they're taking the easy way out, like choosing to make something akin to the quality of that musty on-rails shooter with the horrific visage of bumblebee plastered atop it instead of Devastation. Sure, those Bee cabinets are everywhere, but does anyone care about them, or have any lasting memory of them? Not likely. When Hasbro took the effort of ensuring that Devastation had a good developer and paid attention to detail, devastation, while not on par with the scale or story of War For Cybertron, still remains fondly remembered. It's this mindset of mass appeal that a portion of the TF team has, and it's really hurting the non-toy franchise.

Unless it is like The VOID's Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire where it uses rooms which it is very obvious it is not, why the heck would I go out of my way to play a stand and shoot VR game which I could do at home which will also be 100 TIMES BETTER than this generic looking game.
Make a REAL GAME Hasbro; stop with these stupid pay-to-win mobile games, generic kid games, and VR games NO ONE will go out of their way to play.
I'm usually not for companies holding exclusive rights to a franchise but they never should of left Activision over 1 bad Transformers game aka Rise of the Dark spark (I'm sure there were other reasons too), we could have gotten Devastation 2 but now all we have a cliffhanger that will never be resolved.
I'm sick of these video games that have the minimum effort put into them after all the amazing games we've gotten in the past.

read the title got excited see the pics and read what it's about and that excitement evaporated ! wake me up when we can play as transformers in qa vr world imagine the motion sickness of transforming but fucking hell will it be fun

I'd wager the reason this isn't going to show up on your Vive/Quest/Playstation is because it'll be a scripted series of events with a high score being the only feedback about how well you did. Maybe you'll be able to die but only if you put down the controller.
These experiences (I'd hesitate to call them games) are meant to be played maybe twice for 15 mins weeks apart. There will not be much of anything past that because it's basically a fair ground ride in a shopping mall. Letting people play it at home will only expose just how hollow it'll be because you'll be able to master it in a day and you'll be fed up with it in an hour or so and then no one will play it at the mall the place these games make back their money.
I'm not saying a TF VR game is bad but I'd rather get some half assed WFC/FOC conversion then play one of these.

Is this the one for some shopping centre in Dubai (or thereabouts) with sub-mobile phone game graphics?
The one noone will bother playing?

I\'m confused. Evergreen bumblebee and soundwave but fall of cybertron insecticons. I like both of those designs but that doesn\'t mean they go together.
Rumblestorm
These Cyberverse designs need to die down, seriously.

The whole concept behind evergreen designs is that they are generic and non-descript enough to be used even when other series are "out of season." G1 Sunbow or the toys can't be evergreen because they're specific to one series.
TheoryGuy2003
Evergreen….. -_-
mmhand
I don’t understand why they don’t just use the G1 designs, sunbow or original toy, as the “evergreen” designs across the brand. Is there anyone out there that would prefer these generic designs to classic G1 designs?

Irvington, VA looks like a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. That’s a really strange place to put this.
