Hasbro announced their 2020 Toys For Tots campaign:
This holiday season, the COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented need and Hasbro is proud to be able to donate more than 1 million toys and games to support children and families across the nation.
Through the generosity of individuals, organizations and businesses, combined with a dedicated corps of over 35,000 volunteers working in 800 communities across the country, Toys for Tots plays an active role in inspiring others to make a difference in their communities and has been delivering a message of hope to children in need since 1947.
We commend this annual drive and encourage you to show your TFW2005 community spirit by participating as you can this year. Learn more about Toys For Tots here, then join in the discussion on the 2005 boards!

I work at one of the biggest box stores in town.. No such luck, not at the walmart(s) Target, or in the mall.
I just looked at their website and the closest headquarters is 23 miles away. But maybe they know something, going to e-mail in the morning. Would like to drop off a Ironworks for Fasttrack or two.

I always try to keep Toys for Tots in mind when all these great sales pop up at the end of the year. So far I've gotten a couple of deluxes and a bunch of lego sets (Target and amazon had/are having some great sales on Lego) set aside for the local TFT bin.

I have got to say that this is turning into my favorite trilogy of toys. I haven't owned almost every TF toy since I was a kid and this line hits all the nostalgia buttons for me. Almost perfect G1 representation of toy and cartoon. Hasbro is killing it w/ the Beast Wars as well. Happy time to be a collector.

I don't know if it gets much play here, but I see some social media circles promote "Elf on the Shelfwarmer" where collectors like us take advantage of holiday sales to buy up stock of figures that commonly sit on shelves and donate them to places like Toys for Tots.
It's a clever idea, and would serve a double purpose of helping stores clear inventory ahead of the Kingdom restock.

my town closed everything down cause of stupid covid and i can\'t buy anything till after christmas so whats the point my family says \"you can\'t buy anything till after christmas\" then 5 days later \"Ok you need to buy something for the kids that need them\" or we donate them to goodwill and im confused on that

Every year I set aside a few toys and have even bought toys to give at the various Toys for Tots bins you see pop up during this season. I always have a figure here and there that didn't get opened or that I fell out of love with, so seems natural to pass it along to a new home whenever possible. I've even volunteered through work helping the Marines sort toys that will be given to children in need and it's the real deal and is an important service offered for the thousands of children who would otherwise go without. All this to say, it shouldn't be just Hasbro that gives but all of us as well. I think of it as a great way to insinuate our favorite hobby into the lives of children, the next generations of collectors.
If you have any kind of big box store near you (and unless you live on a remote island somewhere you likely do), they should have a bin. I'm sure you could also mail your toys to a sorting facility if you literally don't have a bin anywhere near you.

That's pretty cool!
It kind of makes me sad though, since TRU closed, I can't even find a drop bin within 30 minutes of my town anymore.
