Subscription-based television and entertainment service Sky Q, which is operated by British satellite television provider Sky, has uploaded a very nice advert featuring Revenge Of The Fallen Megatron.
The promotional video, titled “Harris and the Robots”, shows several famous blockbuster movie characters, and among them we can spot the ruthless Megatron in his Revenge Of The Fallen design.
Watch the video below and some screencaps after the jump. Then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

hate me but I think the movies may be just as iconic as G1 now…

I like that it’s a little boy who loves robots and is ‘collecting’ them In the same place to watch on his tv. The reveal of the prosthetic leg at the end gives is even more insight into why he is so fond of them. They give him confidence because they are strong and that’s a good message for kids who are different.
You could well argue the story told in the advert has more character development and makes a whole lot more sense that the actual ROTF movie…

Interesting!

As poor as movie Megs is, I can easily say his tank design was leaps and bounds better than his 2007 design. If he had more of a character, I'd honestly be a lot more invested into him (or any of the movie characters really).
One of these would've been a much better pre-ROTF body for him. Just slap a fusion cannon on him, maybe another color other than just silver, like black, and make his head look a bit more like he's wearing a helmet and… bam.
BattleUpSaber
ROTF Megs was easily his best design. The tank tread feet, hunched posture, and especially the death claw on his right hand just makes for a very striking and asymmetrical robot design.

I saw this advert on TV the other day.
Found it rather odd tbh.

Nothing wrong with admitting you can be wrong, dude
Like is it everyone else's fault for interpreting your point this way or your fault for not wording it properly? Cause I don't see how else this can be taken
Chris Bot
That feeling of knowing you're right when a bunch of other people are in the wrong, because they don't realize precisely what the point you're making is that they're misunderstanding, nor why. And no matter what you say or how you explain it, they've already made up their minds and won't budge on the issue. It's quite frustrating, and not worth the effort to keep arguing. So I'll just leave it at that.
Any direct quotes, responses, or references to this will be promptly ignored, or skimmed past, for the sanity of us all.

I do actually feel nostalgia even if it was only 11 years ago. While I love modern toys, I'd say 10 years ago was the golden age for Transformers media- when we were getting Summer blockbusters, good cartoons, and decent video games.

Oh man. That took me back to the good ol’ days.
What I’d give to see a Transformers movie that forgets 4 and 5, and follows 3 with the same vibes as the trilogy…

More!!! Need that in 4K!

I think Megatron was like "Oh no, human child… it's 2007 all over again!" That's why he freezes in terror.
Arrogant Arachnid
There's also the fact Beast Wars has it's own Megatron:
The dino Megatron is just a dude who named himself Megatron
SPLIT LIP
No, because they're reboots. BW Megatron actually exists in the same continuity as G1 Megatron. It's like how Optimus Primal isn't a new version of Optimus Prime in the cartoon, and is thus not a "version" of TFA Optimus, or Movie Optimus, etc.

They are all different incarnations of the same character, but they arent the same version we see
Its like how the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man is a version of Peter Parker/Spider-Man and we also have Tom Holland Spider-Man who is also a version of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but they arent the same version.
Arrogant Arachnid
I don't think you understand what incarnation means
Chris Bot
So are all the other Megatrons that are not G1 Megatron. UC Megatron is not the same as BW Megatron, despite being played by the same actor. Besides, that's not the point I was making when responding to Nova Maximus.
Megatron is the big bad leader of the Decepticons, just as also a Megatron is the big bad leader of the Predacons.

I am thinking it is probably the most iconic look for movie-verse Megatron
Chopperface
Definitely unexpected and nice to see an actually pretty damn good looking appearance of ROTF Megatron. I feel like all of Movieverse Megs’ designs have been great, but ROTF just might be the best.
Evergreen is an intentional push by Hasbro to line everything in the brand up behind generic G1ish designs to have brand unity, at the cost of trying new things or trying to be unique. Cyberverse, Siege, IDW2 all have the same looking Megatron. You can’t say that about BW, UT, Bay, Animated, High Moon, or Prime.
