Daaaamn Meteor!!! If this had been announced juuuust about 6mo earlier; this was perfect when only MP-11 was the main mold. OG Meteor was being considered until I saw the aftermarket prices. No way in hell I was paying that, and I feel bad for anyone who did! This would've been the perfect time to grab them.
Overall, it's too late for this guy though. It's definitely good enough to earn it's fanbase, but MP52 does what this is attempting to do and more; with the exception of the waist swivel. Even price doesn't count as most scramble to replace the heads anyways, which adds it's own cost depending on which one you get; and now you can't xform the fig. Still stuck with baby hands (no holding Meg), no cluster bombs (or added cost), no jet effects (or added cost), no stand (or added cost), and the xformation of the rear tail fins.
Again, great fig that more than holds it's own, but too little too late; unless the owner is already knee deep with this current collection.

It can't disappoint if it never releases
KuleGuy123
The idea of making a new torso figure kinda reminds me of that Bold forms Motormaster, hopefully this one won’t be disappointing
Kaynowa
I never saw that, looks cool! How dare you make me see that if it never went anywhere

…man, i just want toyworld's combiner wars onslaught to see light of day… =(

His shoes are weird, but this man speaks the truth.

Well when takara release a figure they'll sell hundreds of thousands more than likely (of just one figure). When fanstoys release a figure it's probably sold in the few thousands category.
That right there is the difference. With the success of siege/SS right now, I doubt takara/hasbro give a crap what any third party is doing. Transformers as a brand hasn't been in such a good place in decades, thanks mainly to takara's design and Hasbro's fan communication.

I got there as volatus fraudo and impetus are 120 if you're lucky, incursus is 180, and if you're lucky, maybe only find probus for a good cost at 150
They're great, but im waiting on probus. Hes either 160 or above. Its gotten annoying, especially because since this whole covid has basically made it impossible for my family to buy from China cause one of our family members is currently scared of everything. As a result I payed 150 for fraudo, and now refuse to buy probus. I'm waiting on a reissue, or the g2 repaint.

Jesus H Christ. I’ve heard Ocular Max’s combaticons are really good , but 680$ for the whole set. I hope to god I can pick up the OC combaticons on black-friday / Cyber-monday
Duke spino
You're ignoring inflation too. If I'm being generous, its more like 680 currently. And probus is now going for 190. Just a fair thing to think about
KuleGuy123
The new Occular Max Protectobots look pretty slick; But I definitely not getting them for awhile because if they have the same pricetags of the OC bruticus , than that's around 559.95 worth of toys

Do you spend all your free time complaining?
Planet X Grimlock is a completely new mold and different scale
ThatGuyCalledBlaster
Me personally, if I had to pick one, pretty obvious that Kidman doesn't have a chance at all. Pre-ordering Cacus the minute he goes up.
Though Kidman's does look interesting. If I can squeeze him in, I may get him as a one-off piece.

Way to go 3rd party! Way to not make anything I need or want for the forseable future! We are moving out of state in June, so I am glad we will be saving money on not purchasing any TFs in the meantime….sigh. XTB…get the damned trailer out…and finish toy versions of the Stunticons! Gcreaton…finish your Protectorbots! Ridiculous…
metalwar2010
And FT can't show renders like XTB has? Plus, they seemed pretty fine when they were showing us Soundwave, Percepter and others, by the way with face masks during the pandemic, so no idea what you talking about Willis!
famigami
OR there's a pandemic happening so they don't have the ability to come together as a company as easily as before so progress is slow and they have nothing new to show. A little common sense before spinning theories and conspiracies folks.
THE-TRANSFORMER
Omnibots steal the show!

My best guess is, if this is true, FansToys would see a Takara deal as secured longevity. Yes it's a new corporate overlord, BUT it isn't those same people actively opposing or undermining them like they have every right to do. Takara has more toylines to focus on than just Transformers and even then, Transformers is spread so thin that the cracks show in every facet with budget cuts in every line. If they could outsource the least active front with a company the fanbase has, by and large, shown warm reception to, it would mean profits for TakTom, security and officiality with FansToys, and more toys for the G1 MP crowd. Could open the doors to other companies or, if no one else, their designers, to come in and produce they want at the same level. I imagine MMC's lines would fit quite snuggly here. Of course, this is an uneducated guess by some 20 something in college with no business experience whatsoever

Sorry, don't really follow this train of thought. Why would Takara bother with trying to buy out or license anything to FT when they can do it themselves? Why would FT take on Takara as a partner when they are already successful without them? Not sure FT has anything to gain besides taking less profits and having a new corporate boss to deal with.
Overall, I'm thankful that a 3p panel presentation was put together. Not really excited about anything other than maybe moderately aroused by the mmc protectobots. Heh.
I don't know why nobody takes a crack at mp Runabout and Runamuck, Windblade, etc. Where was Zetas Protectobot set? I don't really care about the trains… Who knows… I know they can't please everyone but just feel there wasn't much for the G1 mp collector this time round.
