Attention Masterpiece collectors! Via Amazon.jp we have new HQ stock images of the new Transformers Masterpiece Starscream 2.0 for your viewing pleasure!
We have a clear look at a colored sample and the plethora of accessories that will be included with this release. This new mold brings us a very cartoon-accurate representation of the Decepticons Air Commander with an impressive posability and a beautiful F-15 fighter mode. We can finally confirm all the extra parts: 5 interchangeable faces, a pair of Null-ray cannons, Stand, Stand adapter, 5 blast effects, Megatron gun, plus the drill seen in “The core” episode and the claw and rock from “Cosmic Rust”.
Update: More stock images here.
See all the images after the jump and then sound off on the 2005 Board!

You and @franpincho missed where I said era and not mold. This is Starscream 2.0 in Masterpiece era 3.0. The realistic radar doesn't really fit with blue windshields, missing mirrors/lights, painted over automaker badges, etc and they never really used it in the cartoon either. It's not really that interesting a gimmick, let alone interesting enough to carry over to a completely new tooling. Somebody on the design team must like it or something.
Words mean things. And the meaning of "everybody wants" certainly isn't "I, franpincho, want." Try to remember that, especially when condescending, Sport.

I'm just waiting for the day when we can get panel parts to replicate as many animation errors to our hearts content.
2.0
1.0: realistic one-offs
1.5: retooled Hasui hybrid
2.0: double priced heavily painted toon stuff
Takara bases their version numberings on whether or not it's a new mold. So since MP-11 was a retool it's called 1.5. Same on if MP-10 was a retool of MP-1 MP-44 would be called 2.0.
May be 3rd version of Starscream, but it's his 2nd original mold.
franpincho
Wrong. But I fixed it for ya. You're welcome.
RKillian
Nope, 3.0.
1.0: realistic one-offs (1 to 9)
2.0: rescaled Hasui hybrids (10 to ~31)
3.0: double priced heavily painted toon stuff (~32 to present)

I would've preferred they ditched the radar gimmick and made the nosecones swappable so we could get the AKOM/toy-accurate look too.
SelectedLime375
Might as well have it if it doesn't interfere with anything. The nosecone opening is actually used in the transformation this time. There isn't space for it to stay in the same place it's in in jet mode, plus now it doesn't stick out on the robot mode back.

I don't know why they persist with that nosecone radar gimmick. When it was MP 1.0 aesthetics, I guess, but why still in the 3.0 era?

Don't get me started on G1 Encore20A! His fist just launched and it took me almost a year to find it. So its a mix bag with spring launchers.

I’ve had a few spring loaded missiles go missing in a long-term basis as well…I’m sort of glad they’re uncommon these days!
Fafnir72
Lucky you!
Now if I can only find Dianan's other oppai missile that just activated and lauched…………a few months ago.

I lost MP10’s trigger finger for 2+ years and bought him two different 3P hand upgrade kits to replace before finally finding the original finger in a whole different room somehow

even better

Everything we've seen up to this point is of the hand-painted samples, so paint work isn't indicative of the final product. Faces can still be improved, especially as the factory paints go on a lot thinner, hiding the details and intricacies of the sculpt less.

given the plastic and paint quality on MP-50 is rock solid, I’m confident screamer here won’t suffer those issues.
That being said, my only gripe with this figure is that I wish the smirking face was painted a little better, otherwise I’ll happily donate my fucking kidneys for both screamer and cracker. Weeeewwww
