I've no idea man. I paid someone to do it for me. The thought of sanding, priming, spraying, clear coating and curing it feels so demoralizing lol.
Kamen Rider Decade
And looks even better!! Is that a metallic red you have goin' on there?
rendsora
It's already fixed. Thanks to member @Wheehs for his kind assistance on this. Much appreciated bro.

Closest thing is my MP01 first issue. The red and blue paint on the angled areas easily scrape off. Like the paint is very thin
Might be GL at work.

Stop playing with the sandpaper
Primus1998
considering that the paint is flaking off on the crotch of starscream and there's feet paint flaking off, starscream has a foot fetish.
megatroptimus
Wow, what are you guys doing with your toys?? lol

I'm not sure what I am looking at here with these Masterpieces. My Starscream v2 has no paint coming off at all. Some of the pictures look like some after market paint has been applied. My masterpiece collection has become the centerpiece to my Transformers collection. I guess I am just lucky.

Jeepers creepers! I would be pissed if my MPs looked like this
, I obviously don’t mess with them nearly enough!
Kamen Rider Decade
WOW. That's nuts, the metal is just about completely cleaned off!! I thought the paint wear on some of my stuff was pretty harsh, but you got me beat.View attachment 29733732 View attachment 29733733 View attachment 29733734 View attachment 29733735 View attachment 29733736 View attachment 29733737 View attachment 29733738 View attachment 29733739 View attachment 29733740 View attachment 29733741

Animation error version MP-52.

I thought the paint on Starscream diecast was too thin, especially when compared to TC and SW. Seems like it could have used another pass or two.
Wouldn't have minded ratchets in the ankle design versus the tepin.

@rendsora Yikes.
They probably made those parts die cast because that's how it was on the G1 toy, but I think it was a mistake. Not just because of the paint chipping, but also because of the balance. The upper body is already heavier due to the wings, the tailfins and the folded panels, but the die cast only makes it heavier. And that taxes the ankles.
I think a better design would've been to keep that plastic. If any parts should be metal, I think it should've been the inside of the legs. That way the risk of the ankle connection breaking/stressing would've been reduced and there would be more weight near the floor countering the top weight and thus improving the balance. This is interestingly sort of the same design error they made with MP-3: connecting the tailfins/wings to the hips as 'scabbards' put a lot of weight in the torso seriously unbalanced that figure, making it very difficult to pose or even stand, while the iGear KO's changed this shifting that weight to the lower legs, and those were rock solid.

The crotch paint kept flaking off?? I've never seen this on any of the new seeker molds.

they definitely need to prime the diecast somehow, yes. Tried painting the crotch on the clear KO and the paint just flaked right off like pastry. Good theory

I wonder if they prime the diecast before they paint it… But in your case, they may not have.
