Via Kreemzek Reviews on Youtube we have our first in-hand images of the new Transformers Generations Selects Cordon & Spin Out.
Cordon and Spin Out (sold as a 2-pack) are Diaclone redecos/retools of the Earthrise Sunstreaker mold. A very nice addition to the War For Cybertron line adding some pre-Transformers colors to the line. The figures share all the things you may like (or not) of Sunstreaker’s mold. These figures were revealed in the first day of September and you can still pre-order them via our sponsors links below.
Check out all the images on this news post, as well as Kreemzek video review, after the jump. Click on the discussion link below and let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Just got my set today from Pulse. Not too bad. Had to work on the pegs on the chest/roof to get them to peg in better. The only problem I have is on the left leg the clear plastic wasn't lined up at some point and is cracked. I pushed it back in place and luckily it didn't break. Pulse is out of stock so I'm SOL for now.

Just got shipping notices for these and Sandstorm. Nice little suprise after all the exclusive preorder madness
Autobot City Comics 2008

Love that they did Spin out , Cordon and Tiger Track but I’m not buying these for my kids . Instead , I opted to convert their old classics toys that they already had in really ( pretty much still mint ) good condition of Sunstreaker , Sideswipe and Red Alert into these characters . Other than buying some toyhax labels of classics prowl and Sunstreaker ( which were cheap enough ) I didn't have to spend any more money on them . And I did very minimal painting too , which is the only way I would ever consider doing a custom ( either zero or very little painting being involved ) .
Seige , earthrise , and kingdom stuff is by far the best Sunbow cartoon versions of those original characters ( Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Red Alert ) . They are just perfect in my book but these old classics toys are still great toys with just as much articulation as the new stuff . So they really still do stand up quite nicely to the modern / newer stuff. Plus now these Diaclone characters, have unique dedicated molds to them . When possible I like to stay away from multiple purchases of the same mold , if I have a choice ( big exception to that is the seekers and the Vans ) . So these guys look similar but are 100 percent original / different molds from the main versions of these characters that people know . Anyways here is my boys set ( my daughter has a set too ) .
I'm happy for people that wanted these guys and who now have the choice to buy them officially from Hasbro but I felt this was the best option for my kids, instead of just ditching these old toys that are still great , why not just re-purpose them into these Diaclone guys.

I was hoping that we'd get an Earth-mode Sideswipe that was basically the Siege version retooled to turn into a red version of Sunstreaker's car mode (basically he'd look like Spin Out in vehicle form.). I've got Netflix Sideswipe, the black 'clone' version, Siege Red Alert and Tigertrack, but I'd be down for a bright red CHUG version of the Masterpieces.

Ugh, every time I see Spin-Out, I regret passing on the preorders for the set. It just looks SO good…
Greeman
Oh good, Spin-Out has yellow eyes. That one video review out there made them look blue.
Optimus1138
Oof, that car mode is so sexy in red. If we never get a proper Earth mode Sideswipe from the Siege mold I might honestly be tempted to track this down, do a headswap with the Siege figure, and call that my Sideswipe instead.
LeTigre
It’s a push to me, it would have been cool for the solid Diaclone look, but I wasn’t a fan of that head design either.
Thundershot
Too bad these two didn’t get a new head like the MP ones.
LeTigre
I’m still excited for these two.. even if at this rate my Sunstreaker arrives at nearly the same time ( funny how THAT turned out. )

If you pre-ordered through EE, you would've gotten him already. Received ours almost 1.5 weeks ago. Edit: Yes, I'm aware they do a bad job of listing in-stock items as actually being in-stock.
Back on topic, the paint on the clear plastics of these figures appear to match better than Sunstrekaer.

Hot House hasn’t shipped yet?
LeTigre
Can we talk about this Lambo mold now?
Raiyuki
To be completely honest for all my G1 fatigue I'm slightly bummed by this as well, particularly because while I'm glad we have an easily obtainable Tigertrack I do wish that we'd had him in an Earth mold and in fact the rounded chest on the Siege mold would work better as SG Sideswipe (not to mention they could have given us an Armada Wheeljack which would have been a loads better idea than Hound to Hot Shot.)
Optimus1138
Hopefully sooner or later. Even if he won't make it into Earthrise I'm sure they'll continue the Generations Selections and WFC Netflix sublines during Kingdom's run, or they could potentially even release him as part of Kingdom. Given the enormous repaint/remold potential (not just Red Alert and Clamp Down, but Tigertrack, Deep Cover, G2 Sideswipe, SG Sideswipe) I'd be really surprised if they don't do him eventually.

?.
I'm looking at my Hot House figure from EE. Distro seems fine for GS figs.
primetime77
So they share engineering but very few if any actual molded parts. some engineer had all the cirtical features/functions and dims and told the designer to design around those. saves design time but not much if any tooling cost.
payres
VERY similar, but completely different parts
