Moments ago, Hasbro held a live panel at Festival Of Licensing and the news team from TFW2005 attended the panel to learn what Hasbro has in store for 2021 and beyond.
The panel was mostly about their entertainment prospects for the future. You can check out a summary below and check out the details, after the jump.
- Placeholder/Teaser/Announcement poster for 2022 Transformers Live Action Movie.
- Two TV Movies for Transformers: Cyberverse.
- Transformers: War For Cybertron tidbits.
- Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins movie and sequels.
- Power Rangers – Live Action Movie Reboot and Season 28.
- My Little Pony: CGI Movie and Series.
- Dungeons & Dragons entertainment slate.
The event started off with a spectacular montage of major Hasbro properties and eOne properties. G.I. Joe, Transformers, Power Rangers, My Little Pony, Peppa Pig, and Ricky Zoom was highlighted.
Hasbro stated that eOne will oversee all entertainment for Hasbro. This includes animation and live action. More announcements will take place on Q1 2021. Announcements will come for Transformers, My Little Pony, and more.
Over 60 projects are in the pipeline for Hasbro.
G.I. Joe
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins was the first announcement of the day. The movie is a reboot. Future movies are in development. Will take place in this new ‘Snake Eyes Universe’.
“With Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, we are focused on reigniting the brand and expose our fandom to a new generation” said Samantha Lomow. “In partnership with Paramount, we’ve just announced the new release date of October 22nd, 2021 for Snake Eyes which will reintroduce one of the franchise’s popular characters. The film delivers a fresh new take on the story that will reimagine and modernize the story of G.I. Joe with depth and direction for even more stories in the future. We’ll have a lot more to share soon, so stay tuned.”
During Q&A: Still feels good about the release date (October 2021) right now. But it could change depending on the landscape. Aware of the fact that major studios like Disney shifted their movies to 2022.
Transformers
Live Action Movie
A placeholder/teaser poster was displayed as an announcement for the 7th Transformers Live Action Movie. The movie is slated to release in Summer 2022.
“We are in deep development along with our partners at Paramount on the 7th Live Action Feature of the Transformers Franchise. Slated to release in Summer 2022. The next blockbuster film will bring action-packed, high adventure from the lore which will thrill audiences worldwide and will continue to propel the franchise forward.”
Paramount will continue the work for the movie, hand-in-hand with Entertainment One.
Transformers: War For Cybertron
“We are continuing to deliver expansive storytelling in the Transformers Universe. Most recently, we released the most fan focused anime trilogy Transformers: War For Cybertorn. The first chapter; Siege premiered on Netflix in July and ranked in the top 5 of all regions within the first 24 hours. The second installment of this incredible trilogy; Earthrise will be coming very soon.”
Stated that Season 1 Siege was a success. Season 2; Earthrise will be coming soon.
Transformers: Cyberverse
We received a key info prior to the panel and the info denotes:
- Transformers: Cyberverse – 62 X 11 minutes + 2 X 44 minutes.
- Categories: Animation, Action/Adventure/Sci-Fi
It translates into 62 episodes with 11 minutes each and 2 episodes 44 minutes each.
We all know the 62 episodes. Transformers: Cyberverse ran for 3 seasons to a total of 62 episodes (1-18, 2-18, 3-26).
Therefore, it is likely that we will see 2 TV movies (each running at 44 minutes) in the coming future.
Power Rangers
Reboot movie in the works. More announcements to follow.
“Studio team at eOne is in deep development to expand the universe, working closely with our presiden of Family Brands.”
During Q&A, a question was asked: : The latest movie schedule didn’t feature the upcoming Power Rangers Reboot. Is it still in the works?
Answer: :”Power Rangers is a beloved property. We are really excited about the next season of Dino Fury. I think fans are gonna love that. As we partner with eOne, we are exploring all the different content for Power Rangers; including theatrical, including streaming, including animation. So, [we have] a lot of projects in the work. To announce exactly what the roadmap is, we’ll have more clarity by next year.”
My Little Pony
So many announcements for the upcoming CGI movie and the upcoming series. It was hard to keep up. The series titled as Pony Life already has Season 2 greenlighted by Hasbro.
Pony Life
- Pony Life will feature the same voice actors from Friendship Is Magic.
- Looks at the funny side of friendship. More humor, and relatable stories for a brand new generation.
- Pony Life will debut this month.
CGI Movie

- eOne editorial team is also working on the movie.

Does anyone wonder if that part of his mouth was supposed to flap when he talks?
DarkRed401
looking at previous tf movie placeholders i wouldn't look to deep into this one, hard to tell what it is until we get more info, whether or not its beastwars i think something to note is that while it would technically be animated i imagine paramount would refer to it as live action kinda like disney's "live action" lion king

\" Stated that Season 1 Siege was a success. \"
So was my last trip to the bathroom. And it was more entertaining.
Omegashark18
Now that’s a bit of a bummer to me, since I’m looking forward to that one more then the live action one.
Autobot Burnout
Bumblebee also had six extra months.
BigRed
The point is that it's not a "anything thing", period. Time between announcements of details like that is entirely unrelated to the movie being decent or not.
eagc7
Bumblebee turned out well and we didnt had any announcements till we were close to filming (not as close as TLK in regards casting, but still close)
Autobot Burnout
That's not necessarily a good thing given the utter trash TLK turned out to be.
eagc7
Lets not forget that with Bumblebee we didnt had any casting or director announcement till 4-5 months before filming begun
Casting announcements for TLK begun 1 month before filming and Bay confirmed his return 4 months before filming.
So it is possible to have the film ready for 2022 even without any announcements, as the last two films didnt had any kind of announcements till we were close to filming. so if they follow the same patterns, we may not hear news until December or the start of 2021
eagc7
Maybe the film is still several years away, thus maybe they feel its a bit early to talk about it, given the next film is the 2022 film makes sense if that is the main priority right now
Leolim
Quess Earthrise will be release next year and maybe Kingdom.
Omegashark18
Only thing I didn’t see was any update on the animated movie….

I'm wondering if Hasbro/Paramount have even really decided what the next movie's going to be (they should figure it out by Spring '22
). The 'from the lore' has me thinking that they're just trying to reassure us that they're not going to throw in random c**p that makes no sense whatsoever into the next one.
I hope they're not secretly planning to bring back the Bayverse. They pretty much messed that up and more or less wasted many of what could have been some of their best characters. And they'd better not be stupid enough to try and cram Bumblebee into the Bayverse, either.
On the other hand, I'd love a Bumblebee sequel. Doesn't have to be expensive. Just give us a good story and a few decent characters. (I want a road trip/Quest for the Ark film. I mean, why else would Optimus choose Earth, anyway?) I'd settle for a few relatively low budget 'sidestory' type movies building up to an eventual epic clash between Optimus and Megatron. (I mean, it doesn't have to be Armageddon every movie.).

I updated the news post.
TFW2005 Coverage Of Hasbro Brand Panel At Festival Of Licensing – Transformers News – TFW2005
This is what was said during Festival Of Licensing:
Pony Life
CGI Movie
Jeddostotle7
The Bumblebee movie did use almost entirely "normal" non-Bayverse style symbols (aside from the credits sequence/animation, which I think mixed normal and Bayverse ones up a bit), but iirc a couple Bayverse ones did slip in to the movie itself, such as on the missile Blitzwing fires at Bee and the Sector 7 guys:

Also, Bumblebee's head is actually the one example that's not the best choice to use, because interestingly enough, Bayverse Bumblebee's head insignia is one of the vanishingly few examples of "normal" non-Bayverse in the Bay movies:

I wouldn't read too much into the banner, the logo, the description, or the font. Initially I thought the Autobot logo might be evidence against it being a Beast Wars movie…but that's probably not the case. They probably just used that logo because it's the most recognizable logo in the brand. You have to keep in mind that this banner exists to add a generic Transformers-related visual to the presentation. It's probably not intended to be deciphered. I would guess the designer has no idea what the story or premise even is.

So Hasbro teases TF movie 2022. Interesting.
