Just following the reveal of their DW-E01 Destroy Emperpo, third party company Dr. Wu have showed images of the gray prototype of their DW-E02 Monitor Officer (Legends Scale G1 Soundwave).
This figure is planned to be on scale with Earthrise Titan class Scorponok or other Titan class figures. According to the Dr, Wu Weibo post this figure stands only 5.8 cm tall in robot mode so it is even smaller than regular Legends class modern figures. While it can transform in the classic G1 cassette player alt mode, it seems the chest can not be opened due to it’s tiny size. There’s not much information about release date or price yet.

Not long ago I painted a dianaut pilot as spike and it came out pretty good. Think it'll be just the same when I try and paint these little minions

They mention "limited" because they don't intend to re-issue. Once they run out, they run out for good.

I just realized we don't have an itty bitty Ratbat and now I'm sad.

I have a Toxitron.. I may just sub him in to be honest.

I have an SG Prime and I'm a pretty big fan! Honestly only only real complaint is that the axe is orange rather than green or red.

Snagged a SG set. Kinda makes me want to go find a SG prime now…

Seeing as these are "limited to 1000 each" (but who is actually checking?), I wonder what a normal run is?

Being solid plastic they should be "pretty easy" to paint, air quoted that because OH LORD THE TININESS IT MAKES ME GIGGLE WITH GLEE!!! Details on the other hand that might get tricky. Ramhorn, Steeljaw, and Ravage shouldn't be bad but oy vey Laserbeak and the mini robots. Oh OHHHHHHHH that's some tiny painting your gonna need to do these might help you.

I have some friends who paint game miniatures; I'll likely have to borrow some tools and tips from them. At least there will be a few extra Steeljaws, Ramhorns and Ravages to practice on between the two sets.

Those are quite small tho, fingernail or smaller? I hope you come prepared:

The red ones did remind me a lil of the old decoys. I am hoping they'll be easy to paint/color. I'm reconsidering getting both sets so I have a few extra cassette bots in case I screw up.
NemiMonkey
Call me crazy but I think Dr. Wu is going for a deep cut and making the little cassettes homage the old decoy/keshigomu. Aside from black the colors they were released in are there. If not it's just a nice little bonus.

I love everything about the battle damaged ones but the battle damage.

oh, from the photos, i thought that each shattered glass and battle damaged bot was a separate purchase that only included 4 of the cassette bots. so it's a 2 plus 12 pack and i'm guessing these will be on the higher price range for Dr Wu EW sets. i'll prob try to sell the battle damaged main bots, or perhaps just give them away to my nephew since they look like their regular counterpart except for the painted damaged windows on both. then again, i could just paint over the windows and display them in alt mode.

Ha ha, same here!!
