Renegade is an amazing studio that has published some fantastic games, Hasbro is finally showing some love to the hobby gaming community. I'm very happy with this knews!
THE-TRANSFORMER
Interesting and perhaps ?telling? that Hasbro didn't license this out to IDW's Games arm… Though, WizKids also has an agreement with Hasbro and they didn't get this deal, so maybe I'm reading into things too far.
I really wasn't a fan of Renegades Power Rangers Heroes of the Grid game. However I'm a little bit over massive campaign games in general. If we got one of these, you could expect it to be stacked with miniatures.
I'd much prefer a game you can play and finish in one sitting with replay-ability value.
A deck building game sounds fantastic plus any number of card games based on Transformers (preferably G1) would be insta buys.
Here's hoping for some cool left field characters to be included somewhere. It'd be so awesome to see something like Flywheels or Slapdash pop up in a game.

Time to stock up on the WizKids Starscream mini.

Dang, thought this was about Hasbro employees going rogue and starting up their own 3P company

Wonder if this partnership is related to the death of the TCG. I think Hasbro wants WotC to solely focus on D&D and themoneyprintergoingbrrrrr I mean MTG. Moving all their other properties into this deal with Renegade seems like their form of restructuring.

Stealth Tank, here I come!

I play heroes of the grid and a transformers game like that would be fun.
TheTornSideswipeFan
I have a feeling this means we might get something akin to a Transformers D&D with the dedicated lore beyond simple homebrewing.
artiepants
totally! Seekers, Reflectors, Datsun bros, Lambos could all be "generics" in infinite color ways.
artiepants
thank you!!! but that leaves me confused since this isn't WotC: does D&D license out it's basic core rule set or something?
Gumblor Gimbles
You could make infinite seeker variations with a Starscream miniature, a few members of the 1984 cast would be able to share molds.
Novaburnhilde
Hm. Interesting, hopefully something nifty comes out of this.
St Firebringer
Ugh, that would be awful!!! They could do alt-forms in lieu of D&D's Race options: cars/trucks get a faster move (free transform as part of move?), tanks slow down but get AC boost and/or special weapon, jets have a fly speed, etc. Then make those abilities scale with level, which makes your character a Transformer from the get-go. Plus it would be fun to mix'n'match with classes: Fighter Truck, Rogue Stealth Jet, Caster Tank, "Monk" Car, etc.
ophyjgjhnfn
I'm all in for free transforms! Could you imagine if you couldn't get a transform action until you pick a sub-class or something? Haha!
shadowbug
Well, Damn. Just when I was in the proccess of making a homemade transformer rpg.
