Via TonTon Review on Youtube we have our first in-hand images of the Transformers Studio Series 86 Deluxe Kup.
The rumored Studio Series 86 line with characters from the classic G1 Tranformers animated movie already impressed us with Deluxe Hot Rod a few days ago and now it’s turn of old-timer Kup. He proves to be another freat mold with elements from his cartoon design and original G1 toy. In a great homage to the classic G1 Transformers movie, Kup’s limbs can detach to recreate his scene with Hot Rod. Another great mold for the Studio Series 86 line which is sure coming in hot which every new reveal.

DM me and I'll look in the morning. I think I have one, but I'm old and forgetful and won't remember tomorrow

I need to find an Igear head, the stock kup heads all look like shit (to me)
kaszal
Has there been any news of a 3rd party replacement head? If so, would someone mind linking to it, cheers

No actually I havent (take note that I am not a car guy or doubt their existence.). And even If I had, aesthetically it looks bad. I dont care about show accuracy, I care about aesthetics.

Ohh nice work man. Yeah his face is waay too gaunt. Also for the back, it looks like all it needs is a part that will allow it to rotate to have a nice flush backpack. Great job!
NemesisJazz
I think they could have done a bit if a better job rounding out that chest. It is a bit too angular. If given the choice, the robot aesthetic will be #1 for me rather than the vehicle mode. The face sculpt is also weird looking i think the chin is a bit on the long side. Other than these minor gripes i am buying him.

I must be dumb, I never thought they'd include the 86 movie as a movie for the SS line! Kup looks great!
kylash327
oof, yeah this guy is a no for me.
shadowbug
Looks good…I was working on the same thing but am dealing with spotty internet and didn't get a chance to upload.
I also worked out what I think they could have done with the backpack, it would just need a rearrangement of the hinges and I have no idea why they did it the way they did.

You've never seen cars with separate fender colours from the main body? Especially given the retro-future sort of aesthetic Kup's alt-mode embodies, it seems fitting to me, even if again it's not show-accurate.
Arrogant Arachnid
Exactly. For some reason people here brush off people who critisize as "hAtErS" and just ignore what is actually said. Believe it or not Hasbro and Takara aren't perfect and they can be critisized, they're not some little kids that always need protection. Most yarring of this being that the most of the people I've seen that throw tantrums over this are usually middle aged.
And besides, if someone can't stand other opinions, what are they even doing in a discussion thread.

Dont you ever dare to say that something could be done better, dont even think about it, its sacrilegious!

We are in the year 2020. If the head does not look like the character, then it does not look like the character. Please don’t talk about “fans never happy!!!!” We all lost our minds over how good Hotrod is, and are currently losing our minds over BW Megs for the same reason, but the second we take issue with the toy designed on a computer with state-of-the-art software, we get told we expect too much, and that we should be happy for once. Making an accurate face isn’t more expense than an inaccurate one, and when a toy is inaccurate, we will say as such.

What blue highlight? They are a whole different shade of green from the entire car (minus the back). Thats definitely NOT fine.
mx-01 archon
The front fenders have the light blue highlight because they form part of the shoulder assembly. They look fine. Not show accurate, but fine.

At the budget point they did this at I think they did a pretty good job. You can probably get a way with charging and doing a little bit more with Hot Rod than Kup. Still doesn't explain the giant fist, remind me of the extra hands with Macross stuff that almost look like clown fist.
pilot00
A Pharaonic mummy has a better face than that. Might be because its younger than Kup…who knows? And also the colours are killing an otherwise great altmode, thats a design choice, to accommodate (I suppose the robot mode, cant remember how his shoulders are supposed to look). You can also see that, unless the transformation/photoshot was performed by an imbecile (which going by the record they are having is a big probability) it might have also have tabbing issues on those shoulders. Though I am willing it give it, the prototype/imbecile point. IDK what 'If the toy had more budget/mass to work with' would have happened, the point is, it is what it is. And it doesnt look good, ergo I personally am not going to pity them and get something that I dont like. Sorry.
mx-01 archon
And Kup's only significant flaw is that he's maybe 20% too skinny. If the toy had more budget/mass to work with, then that would've been an easy fix.

You and your logic
Arrogant Arachnid
Yeah not like Hasbro has been making mini Masterpiece deluxe figures in Siege and Earthrise or anything
