Via Instagram user dencio333x we have our first clear look at the new Transformers Kingdom Fossilizer Ractonite Paleotrex
This is kind of a different and unusual figure. Ractonite transforms into a dinosaur skeleton, and even the robot mode looks as if it were made of bones. Ractonite is part of the new Kingdom Fossilizers which can split and combine as weapons for other War For Cybertron figures similar to the Siege Weaponizers.
Update: New in-hand images confirm that the correct name is Paleotrex.
Chech the mirrored images after the jump and then sound off on the 2005 Board!

Just got my hands on some kingdom stuff and this has proved to be my favorite in the line so far. What a fun concept.

I thought so too but some Transformers are very ambiguous and for Beast Wars character its not always as obvious as the Floro Dery-designed G1 fembots. For example, the first Airazor toy was male before the show made it a fembot. Some molds and body types are quite ambiguous especially given Beast Wars tend to prefer smoother and rounder more organic curves to the robot parts versus G1's pure boxyness. That makes the toys quite vague in many cases, which is why some were retconned as female due to a lack of any indication in the bio. Airazor and Sonar being two example. Honestly a lot of Beast Wars toys got this ball jointed, slick limb design that makes them way more ambiguous than a G1 pile of box. Given the cartoon tend to tweak proportions for both the guys and the ladies, its unsurprising the toy Airazor made such a convincing girl that it honestly never crossed my mind the toy was intended to be male due to the show. But like I said, hey, we finally got a dinosaur lady in the Predacon ranks and I'm completely fine with it being a new character and one with a completely new altmode.
If you ask me, her design is so accurate to Beast-era basic class figures that if you added some mechanical greebles, some chromed parts and a spark crystal she could easily pass as a cheap Basic Transmetal 2 design to the point I'd absolutely buy if Hasbro revealed they recycled her from abandoned concept art from 20+ years ago.

Yeah I think it’s pretty cool. And if you look at Vertebreak’s face closely you can certainly see the feminine features.
Suboptimal Optimus
Huh, well alright. Vertebreak did seem like it could be female. Nice to have a non-athropod female Predacon for a change, really.
Super4Ever
Vertebreak was confirmed as female during an unboxing event a few weeks ago. As far as I know Paleotrex is male.
Suboptimal Optimus
I could see Vertebreak as female but some characters Hasbro just doesn't really specify. Unless they want brownie points.
wwoptimusprime
Ok, has anyone verified if its a male or female? I honestly think female but, courious if hasbro has stated yes or no to that….

There's really nothing stopping HasTak from including modular figures beyond WfC. Especially since the franchise is ripe with opportunities without having to break from their source material.
Now that they know people will buy literal partsformers (as long as the parts have value beyond the bot/alt mode they form) hopefully they'll start getting a bit bolder about it. I still say that, for as much as I like Lynx's base mode, it was a missed opportunity to not give the Lynx a bit more modular design.
People gotta stop assuming that Kingdom is the Alpha/Omega of a Beast Wars revival.

You gotta make friends with the rich kids so you can play with their armies. It's just a rule of life.
SaltSalterson
Deathsaurus sounds like an interesting figure to go in Kingdom, since he's a dragon/dinosaur thing.
But then again, we'll may just have to wait for the next series and see whats gonna be in it.
MrSoundmeister
Yeah, i have a hunch kids that like Animal toys over Vehicle toys would go nuts for these. Especially the Fossilizers cuz' there's going to be that one kid who's going to be like "I'ma gunna make a skeleton army so the good guys fight the skeleton army, it's gunna be great!"
Neko-bot77
I still say it would have been perfect to have a leader size Star Saber with a weaponizer Victory Leo…. VL was basically a weaponizer in his original toy form anyways…
Treadshot 2.0
A BUNCH of kids WILL buy these even if they don't care about the robots. My son is GOING to pester me TO DEATH for these things.
T-Hybrid
Missed opportunity if HasTak doesn't pull back the curtain and reveal these guys are building up to a secret giant bone dino combiner mode.
Also, seriously…a leader class dude that just explodes in to a bunch of 5mm compatible weapons/armor. A big ol' honkin' mammoth or something.
Duke spino
Glow in the dark? A lot of of fossil toys do that, be funny to do the same. But seriously, a nice pure silver or a dark black, with red cracks in it would be pretty cool
primalxconvoy
I'm waiting for some more interesting recolours of these fossilizers, hopefully in dark, metallic and more exotic designs.

Getting this as a paleontologist!

These are nothing like Dinosaurs. These are Bone Age with a robot mode added on. House brand.

Serious Dinozaur vibes, it’s incredible.
