Good news for Canadian fans! The new Transformers R.E.D (Robot Enhanced Design) Wave 1 has just been found at retail in Canada, thanks to a report via friend site Cybertron.ca.
The first wave of new G1-inspired action figures: Optimus Prime, Megatron and Soundwave were found at a Walmart in Alberta by Cybertron.ca member Team Jetfire.
We hope this means that a US release isn’t far behind. Happy hunting!
Lazerwave
Other than the ones that were first spotted in Canada, I have not heard anymore sightings at all.

amen
scuffed up rts bumblebee
I've found a way too find out if anyone has them, I've been on the lookout for netflix bumblebee and I phone ahead and ask if the can check if they have it and give them the upc, maybe it will work with the red series
TickTockGoesTheClock
This seems like a weird fluke as I haven't heard of any other canadians besides this guy finding him.

Oh fuck, I remember those! I always wanted the Armada ones, even if they weren't that great. If they give us UT designs in RED all will be forgiven. (not really I just want UT and other lines to be redone in literally anything)
Lazerwave
Still hunting, no luck.

These are Hasbro action figures and it's completely legitimate to measure them to other Hasbro action figures.
Judged as a Hasbro action figure, that Prime sucks.
Chaos Muffin
They almost seem more like a throwback / update to those old mega PVCs.

I\'m really hoping this line does good. I know it may not look good now but the fact that were getting characters from multiple TF medias excites me. I\'m mostly excited for Prime Arcee. I don\'t really want to dish out the money for MP either. Plus I feel that every line that starts out doesn\'t start hot right off the bat. But as more waves come out I feel like this could be one of the best lines in TF. Plus this may be the only line I collect from TF
Shin Densetsu
Definitely a different case. He wasn’t used to Super7/4H figures and was expecting more when Super7 TMNT are pretty much consistent with what Super7/4H have been putting out.
Most of us who collect Hasbro’s 6” lines expected more out of these but when it comes to range of motion, these RED figures come up short. If this were 2010 the expectations would’ve been more tempered.

I'm not saying it'll be the same exact case, but I remember when that random person on the internet got the Super7 TMNT figures before everyone else and said they were garbage, but then when everyone else got theirs, they were fine.
What missing paint though? The promo photos look exactly like the actual figure.

That’s what sticks out to me too, especially with any recent 6” Hasbro figure next to these on shelves at Walmart. Hasbro has made a lot of strides in articulation improvements from Marvel Legends to Power Rangers Lightning Collection to most recently, GI Joe Classified. What we have with RED series are 6” figures that are on par or actually with less articulation and more range hindrances than 2012 Marvel Legends from Hasbro.
Not so much bad, but very lacking compared to other Gundam figures Bandai has made. That’s covered in more detail here:

They're not basing it off impressions, they're basing it off what they can see. The guy's impressions did not bend Prime's ears out of the box, or cause the figures to have limited posability or missing paint.

More of that Sweet, Sweet G1!

Gundam Universe has bad articulation? Since when?
Turnman
You'd think, with the TF collector community being as old as it is that people would have learned the difference between the subjectivity of the experience of transforming toys that transform
and the objectivity of showing an action figure that has less articulation than the other action figures the same company does and, even worse, less articulation than the transforming toys that have to make sacrifices to actually do more than just having articulation.
But here we are once again, having people being all preachy because they can't handle anything other than praise for something on a discussion forum.

It's not just Sunbow stuff, though. There's listings for Cheetor and Prime Arcee. This seems like it'll just be the place to put non-Masterpiece direct representations of media/animation, instead of even-slight reimaginings that transform normally in the main Generations lines.

This goes back to my lack of understanding why these even exist: they’re doing far 1. better sculpted figures, 2. with more articulation, 3. that actually transform, in the mainline 4. at a similar scale, 5. for similar prices.
it’s just boggling to me that Hasbro believes there’s enough Sunbow Bro’s interested in non-transforming representations of the characters to sustain this as a line, particularly when it seems like such a departure from their other lines that generally go for a higher end and/or a more realistic aesthetic.
…not to mention that it seems like it will canabilize or be canabilized by the main line and Masterpiece…
Whatevs. They’re not for me and I should just let it go.
