New Republic Pictures will co-finance the seventh Transformers Live Action Movie (tentatively titled as Transformers 7) under a new agreement with Paramount Pictures.
This 10 picture deal includes Mission: Impossible 7, Top Gun: Maverick, The Tomorrow War, Infinite, Without Remorse, Coming 2 America, Transformers 7, The Tiger’s Apprentice, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Under the Boardwalk.
“Our shared success with our partners at New Republic in last year’s ‘Rocketman’ marks only the very beginning of what we know we can achieve as a powerhouse team bringing top-notch films—unrivaled in storytelling and cinematic quality—to audiences everywhere. We are thrilled to be in business together for the long haul” said Paramount Pictures’ Chief Operating Officer Andrew Gumpert.
The seventh Transformers movie was originally supposed to be co-financed by HuaHua Media, China. A fallout with Paramount following the aftermath of the critical & financial failure of Transformers: The Last Knight, led to the deal being nullified.
This new deal was negotiated on behalf of New Republic Pictures by Ken Deutsch of Latham & Watkins, LLP.

Yeah, but every movie studio has to play their cards right with every franchise. There is such a thing as being overly cautious. You wait too long, you can't properly capitalize on the hype.

Transformers is the most profitable franchise of Paramount you have to think about it very well doing where you are going to not lose Transformers as a saga of profitable films

I do get your point, I agree it's worth noting. But I wouldn't take it as confirmation that they're not going to do a sequel. I believe all those other movies were huge hits, so they were probably quicker to greenlight sequels (plus, those were different studios). It's no secret that Paramount needs to play their cards right with Transformers. I'm sure they've had many meetings over the past 20 months, and talked about every possible option. I do agree that a full reboot is a possibility, but I also think Bumblebee was enough of a success that they might choose to do a sequel (which would likely be more of a spinoff with a strong Optimus presence…who is sure to bring people into the theater).

I take it you have not seen the critically acclaimed Travis Knight Bumblebee reboot back in Christmas 2018

I think the best evidence is the lack of evidence to the contrary. Let's look at other 2018 movies:
Black Panther – sequel confirmed, release date set for May 2022
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – sequel currently in production, disrupted by Covid, but you can find set photos online, planned June 2021 release date.
Aquaman – sequel confirmed, Dec. 2022
Venom – sequel confirmed, filming done, June 2021
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – sequel confirmed, Oct. 2022
But Bumblebee? 20 months since release and no concrete news of any kind. That kinda says something, doesn't it?

I don't know if it's quite accurate to call it a "financial home run", but it was considered solidly profitable. Certainly nowhere near a flop. I do think they'll expect more money from future movies, but it's not unlikely that they'll make a sequel.
A lot of people here seem to be thinking they're going to hard reboot with the next movie. While they certainly could do that, I've seen no evidence that they will. Granted we haven't heard much since March of 2019, but last we heard they were talking about doing an Optimus/Bumblebee teamup film. Which makes sense, considering Bumblebee ended with a clear lead-in to a movie like that. I don't see why they wouldn't build off that.
The only thing I've seen claiming there's going to be a reboot was that article that said the animated Cybertron prequel will be a different timeline. But considering that same source also said a new Star Wars show is going to take place in a different timeline, I'm assuming they just meant to say "a different part of the timeline".

Critical home run, sure.
Financial? Eh. There's reason to be skeptical about that.

Bumblebee was a critical and financial home run. Not sure what you’re on about.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't hate the humans. I believe it would be weird with no human characters in a Transformers movie set on modern earth. But the story and camera lingers far too much on them. TF1-TF5 suffers most from this, too much human drama that ultimately is unimportant – and too much camera-focus on the humans when the Transformers are fighting (this one really annoys me). However, it got A LOT better with Bumblebee in my opinion – but I still think a good chunk of the "human story" could've been minimized. At least Charlie was an improvement from Sam and Cade.
This demonstrates the issue perfectly. It's crazy how little screen-time is given to characters that aren't Optimus or Bumblebee. I get that audiences like and recognize Optimus and Bee the most, I get that they generate the most income – but come one now, it's just ridiculous at this point.
Exactly. We really need Transformers conversations with humans when they're in vehicle mode now that you mention it. I never noticed how much I miss that kind of stuff.
We also need a character that can be a part of the adventure without needing constant help and attention from our heroes – one of the few things I actually like about the character Cade Yeager. He held his own against the KSI drones which I think was pretty sweet.

Going off your statement, I think a balance between Transfomers and humans as well as transformers and transformers is an important creative choice that would benefit the film. Less humans and humans overall. AoE has a fair amount of robot interaction, even if it’s mostly them being dickheads to each other. But that same setup of robots being together and having a dialog is important, for the audience connection to the important characters as well as inputting themes and ideas. And we can see this in many a transformers media.
TheSoundwave
I don't mind human characters (I actually like a human factor), but I hope future movies minimize the amount of human-only drama. I was thinking about this earlier…the weakest and most skippable parts of any of these movies are those scenes. Scenes like Sam looking for a job or bickering with his parents slow down the movie and get really boring (and are ultimately unnecessary). And as much as I love Bumblebee, I do think the scenes between Charlie and her family are the only moments the movie slows down. I wouldn't want them cut, but maybe they could have been minimized just a bit (and thankfully, a lot of that ended up on the cutting room floor).
IMO the goal should be to get the humans on the adventure with the Transformers as quickly as possible, and to keep them there. Obviously some human-only scenes might be necessary, if it's needed for the story. But I think the brand works best when the humans are doing most of their interacting with the Transformers, not with other humans. Especially not when it's just everyday life drama, that stuff gets tedious. Heck, give the Transformers conversations with humans in car mode if that's needed for budget.

Ill watch a live action if it has G.I. Joe's.

I don’t even hate humans. I am one of those. But I’m tired of the constant screaming, whining, dick joke making humans having all the screentime, while any robot character who isn’t OP or Hasbro’s golden boy Bumblebee are reduced to, like, three minutes of screentime.
I remember I was trying to customize my TLK Drift because unlike in the movie, the toy’s robot mode was completely red, so he needed some improvements. I decided to look up some scenes of him, and I found a compilation of all of his scenes from that movie, which only amounted to 2 and a half minutes. From a 2 hour and 29 minute movie. And a good chunk of them are background shots.
Zemah
This is the important bit. Please, just make a Transformers movie with minimal human characters. Like seriously, there is so much time wasted on humans that I could care less about.
TheSoundwave
As people have already pointed out, Transformers 7 is almost surely just referencing the fact that this is Paramount's 7th Transformers film. If it were referencing a TLK sequel, it would mean they're skipping episode 6. Bumblebee was 6, this will be 7.
Magnum Dongus
I don’t know if I’d say that’s a good addition. I’m tired of every single story now relying on “We MUST not allow Megatron to get the Allspark!” Plus I don’t see the point of replacing the Matrix/Vector Sigma/Underbase with yet another life giving powerful artifact, which isn’t even supposed to be a physical object.
Not to mention the first 5 movies already were focused on Bumblebee and Optimus Prime (after the humans, of course).
Galvatron2000
I guess it's a misleading title,because otherwise I wouldn't understand anything.
Didn't we get the confirmation for Beast Wars and Bumblebee II in April?…and also the animated movie?
And if they want to continue with the story of TLK, hopefully without Michael Bay … that since transformers 3 you can tell that he has no enthusiasm for making transformers movies.
Zemah
I hope it wont be another "character" driven movie where they mostly focus on a single character. While Bumblebee was good and a step in the right direction, I'd rather have a movie with multiple Autobots and Decepticons. Not just one bot vs two cons.
So, hopefully a sequel to Bumblebee with the same characters, designs, story continuation, etc – but with a larger cast of Transformers in focus. Something like, 3-4 Autobots and 4-5 Decepticons is a fair size in my opinion.
eagc7
Transformers 7 is just a placeholder title, just like how Bumblebee was called Transformers 6, even though its not the 6th main film, but its the 6th Transformers period, just like this one, its onyl referred to as TF7, cause its the seventh live action TF film in general, whatever its a sequel or a reboot or whatever
