Third party company Dr. Wu have uploaded via their Weibo account images of the colored test shot of their MC-02 Microscope (Revenge Of The Fallen Scalpel) prototype.
This figure was designed by Mechanic Studio and released by Dr. Wu. According to our first images, this figure is planned for the Studio Series collection showing off a very movie-accurate robot mode. Some compromises have been made to achieve this, like a non-movie accurate microscope mode and the scale it’s a bit bigger than it should be (the correct scale would be too tiny after all).

So, I finally shipped my Stack from TFSource and this came in today.
He's not as impressive as the original ROTF toy but he looks good and he's surprisingly poseable for the size.
I do wish he had a better way to hide his eyes and that there were more paint apps but all in all he's a little charmer. (I do mean little. Geez.) While I know the price includes importation and all that and the Chinese MSRP is lower, I'm not sure he's worth the current asking price. If he and Mohawk had been boxed together ala the triplets from SS, definitely, but on his own? Nay.

I could kinda sorta believe the alt mode if his burning red eyes weren't front and center. Shame they didn't include a transformation step to turn them 180 degrees for alt mode.

First foray into 3rd Party. Doc Scalpel is a design I really want a toy of, but the original Scout was a disaster and Studio Series shows no sign of making one (and chances are SS would just make him a static accessory the size of a grain of rice, like Wheelie and Brains, that's no fun).

Obviously he's not in scale, but I'm fine with it. He still captures the spirit of a tiny little doc crawling over the big bots to patch them up, and I suspect this is about as small as you can get while still keeping him super articulated.
Microscope is… as expected. I do like the idea behind the transformation, with the mustache splitting so the become dials on the sides. If it weren't for the Movie aesthetic they probably could've made it more convincing. Like, imagine if the eyes were just plain lenses and the legs were less spiky and more boxy, yeah?
… still not likely to ever transform him again, heh.

This guy (plus mozart) should be coming in the mail this week or next. I'm excited! I had a preorder with showz that I could have canceled when I bought it from uncle billy, but I figured if I'm gonna have two of any figure it should be this guy. Multiple ones can crawl all over anything!
