Via Tag Hobby we have a look at part of the original design sketch of the upcoming Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece G1 Starscream Ver. 2.0 which was published in the Figure King #270 Magazine.
This new updated Masterpiece Starscream mold was hinted some time ago and now we have a proper confirmation of its release. The image shows Starscream’s torso revealing some very obvious improvements to the body proportions and cartoon accuracy details compared to the previous Masterpiece Starscream mold.
Update: Full body (front, back & side) sketches via TFND Facebook.
It seems we may see more pictures in the next Figure King issue, so stay tuned with TFW2005 for more updates.

LOL whew…thought I missed the announcement.

Thundercracker. Dude in blue, nyuk nyuk nyuk. Whoops, my mistake.
Optimus Prime23
Wait, what? I miss an announcement for Skywarp? Or did you mean Starscream?
Gamerlingual
Preordered Skywarp. I'll probably get this guy two months post release. Still aiming for that minus 20,000 yen price. Need to be a cheapskate these next few months if work continues to come in. Keyword: IF. But so far, I have hope.

As much as I hate to say it…I hope Skywarp isn't out until January 2022. Although given the way my 2021 started, would be my luck that this line suddenly picks up pace and goes too fast for me. I'll be needing to buy a new car thanks to getting rear-ended at high speed on New Year's Day…so sadly, Masterpiece can't be my main priority. But I can't skip out on the Seekers of all characters, and I think I've made my excitement for Starscream pretty evident. Stoked for Thundercracker as well…I'm sure it'll all work out, but in the moment I'm just sat here thinking "oh dear Primus how am I gonna pull this off".

Ack, these in hand images of Thundercracker are causing me to wobble a bit. The proportions may not be totally to my taste… The stock/posed images of this mould make it look much better so I'm not super worried, but yeah… straight on the legs look a tad too skinny/small and the head a bit too big. I'm starting to flip flop between keeping my pre-order or dropping it and getting the Meteor reissue… maybe I'll have to get both and compare in hand.

Just a heads up for those who haven’t been following the TC thread, Starscream may look better than advertised due to a possible incorrect transformation in the stock images.
With this it appears the entire backpack can be adjusted up, as well as the buttflap being angled.
Notice how you can see the gap at the back on his shoulder intakes and the top of his shoulder peaking out above the wing on Starscream.

Very tiny differences:
– Thundercracker's photo was taken at a slightly lower angle (you can see the other wing on SS)
– Slightly angled wings (compare it with the intakes on both)
Most likely the rear end of the wings on SS were not pushed in properly causing the entire front part of the jet+wings to be angled downwards

I think it's just shitty tolerances on the Starscream proto. They probably couldn't squeeze everything as tightly together as it should to have things line up correctly.

I'd pass on an updated MP Conehead trine, since I never really cared for them.
However, I would definitely buy the MP Storm Trine if TT decided to release them.
If they release Skywarp this year, that would be over $750 dollars worth of Seekers. I have a feeling Warp might be a January 2022 release, maybe.

That is very odd because all the pieces are in the right place with no obvious gaps on both. I'm wondering if there was actually a mold change from Starscream's prototype to the final version or if it was a photoshop mistake. These marketing shots are all photoshopped to some extent so something weird may have happened.

Haha thanks my buddy! Anything to make you spend money!
The MP-11 retools didn't change anything about the body shape really–they added the weird thigh guards, but put them on the knees. The heads and wings were of course re-engineered, but everything else is basically identical.

Friend: And what did you do with your tax refund?
Me: I bought an updated trine of Seekers

Agreed. The Coneheads' point of contention design-wise will most likely be the legs, and honestly I wonder how they'll do it. Either way, I have no doubt that Takara will figure something out that works.
Though, how did Takara do it for the MP-11 retools? I haven't gotten my hands on any of that mold so i'm not sure on all the details in regards to the original 3 and Conehead retools.
Also god, you're making me drool with those mockups, hahahaha.

No surprise, but Thundercracker has given us confirmation that Starscream's downward pointing nosecone in this shot was indeed a mistransformation.

The vehicle mode is a lot straighter here.

I believe it was only a week after the reveal of this guy that we got his POs?
lord ginrai
Official reveal is on the 14th. The imagine we have now is a leak.
It's very possible that preorders go up on the same day as well but there is no concrete confirmation on that.
