Via the official Takara Tomy Transformers twitter we can share for you our first official image of the packaging of the upcoming Transformers Masterpiece MP-49 Black Convoy.
This is the inevitable redeco of MP-44 Optimus Prime Ver.3 in Black Convoy/RID Scourge/Nemesis Prime colors. As we saw in our first official images, this release features Decepticon insignias on his shoulders and, while it comes with his laser gun and battle axe, there’s no trailer included.
Packaging is an horizontal box with the usual Masterpiece style featuring the robot and alt mode in the front. This figure is expected for release by July 25th. You can still pre-order it via our sponsors links below.

I wonder if we will get a repaint of MP-49 since we got one in the form of MP-44S. My MP-49 has a broken foot so I would jump all over a new repaint.

Is this still instock anywhere?

Nice, thanks!

Make sure the smokestacks are moved out of the way. They have two positions and in one of them they block the arms from collapsing on the inside.

Hi, just got mp-49. Having trouble pushing the arms back up to convert to truck. Anyone have any tips? Thanks!

I actually really liked that.

MP-24 Star Saber was almost entirely unpainted by design.

I am with you. It is such a strange choice for the nonpainted masterpiece. It maybe the only nonpainted masterpiece

If this were as glossy as MP-44, I'd probably get it. I have two MP-10Bs and I prefer their aesthetic, if not the overall sculpt, to this.

still waiting for mine to get shipped… starting to think I may have gotten scammed but we’ll see. Ebay so I’m protected.

Definitely kicking myself for skipping this at $170 at AmazonJp in favor of Transform Element's black version(I wanted to experience the mold). While a cool transformation, the lack of some basic articulation is very unforgivable especially head to head with MP44..

Do they have another? Lol. I'm interested.

$140 is a great deal.

Thanks. i bought it a few days ago when the price drop to $140 shipped. Waiting for it to ship.

It's wobbly, but it is not floppy. Joints are actually tight and ratchets lock well. But the wobbliness makes it not very stable in an action pose with the give in the joints (mainly hip and knees), regardless joints being tight. Shakes the table a bit or lightly push it with a finger and the wobbliness/give may be enough to cause the figure to lose balance and fall. Transformation is very complex and fiddly, but the transformed mode is not. Pretty solid actually. If you are not looking for something perfect and knowing what you are getting into, $165 shipped is not a bad price. With a lowered expectation, you may end up liking it. It is just not a "be all end all" Prime mold some claim it to be, but it has its merits, aside the wobbliness.

Can get one used for 165 shipped. Love the look, don’t own mp-44, but these issues i read about concern me. Not sure whether to drop the money. I don’t need a perfect figure I just want a fun figure that isn’t too fiddly.
