Pre-orders for the new Takara Tomy Masterpiece MP-39+ Spinout have started via Takara Tomy Mall website, and they have uploaded a new official art image & extended bio.
We have an amazing piece of art featuring Spinout dashing into battle holding his gun in robot mode and his beautiful red Lamborghini “Supercar” LP500S mode in front of him. The extended bio is a very nice surprise since it states Spinout function as an assault rescuer and reveals Spinout’s mysterious origin which connects the original Diaclone Car Robot story with the Transformers universe.
Check out the mirrored images as well as a complete translation of Spinout’s bio (thanks to 2005 Boards member HolyCulture) after the jump. After that you can sound off your impressions on the 2005 Boards!
Update: Extended Bio translation corrected and improved thanks to Soundwave’s Oblivion website..
Rescue Assault Spinout, a homage from Diaclone, the precursor of Transformers, joins the MP series!
The color palette, dimensions, and specifications are modeled directly after Car Robot NO.1 Countach LP500S type from Diaclone.
A completely new Masterpiece branded character transforms from the Lamborghini “Supercar” LP500S to Rescue Assault team member, Spinout!
The specific variations of the original Diaclone figure have been faithfully reproduced, while maintaining the excellent articulation and vehicle mode features that were already exhibited by Sunstreaker and Cordon.
The concept of the original Car Robot NO.1 Countach LP500S type has been made into a reality with a product that strongly adheres to the modernization of Transformers.
MP-39+ Cybertron Rescue & Assault Spinout
Function: Assault & Rescue
Motto: “Don’t embellish history with trivial details.”
Profile: Spinout was originally a battle machine (Car Robot) on an Earth in another dimension, which was unprecedentedly given consciousness by a Cybertron ancient computer, becoming a Super Robot Lifeform. Although impulsive and hotheaded, Spinout demonstrates obedience and loyalty to the Earthlings. He clearly remembers his past life as a battle machine and doesn’t feel confident about fighting without a pilot. Spinout’s vehicle form is a Lamborghini Countach LP500S, which illustrates both the mystery and paradox behind his origins.
“Delta Magnus’ personal log”
In our haste to secure the outer space facility “Diadem”, which stores vast amounts of ancient Cybertron data, events took a turn for the worst. The facility had been decimated in a fierce battle between the Destrons and Quintessons, and a lot of valuable data had been lost. Fortunately, I was able to recover Cordon’s original memory, but he refused to install it. What we also discovered…was not what we expected. Evidence which completely changes the view of Seibertron’s history. One robot, “Spinout”, was discovered in a chamber in the depths of the Diadem, and had been in stasis for nearly 10 million years. In other words, an ancient robot with an earthen vehicle mode existed on this planet! What is going on? According to the Diadem memory banks “Anterior Zeta”, Spin-Out was originally a battle machine from an Earth in another dimension and was castaway on this ancient planet due to a space-time anomaly. Spin-Out was affiliated with the “Diaclone” force. Zeta had analyzed their spacecraft and seemed fascinated with the events of the Diaclone war against their enemy, the Waruder. Was Zeta crazy or was he hacked…anyway, Zeta ensured the Diaclone mission would continue and put into motion a secret protocol. He created a genetic command program that was spread throughout his repair network on the planet. Upon detecting any Waruder presence the program would automatically take over and ensure their destruction was top priority. It’s hard to believe there had been such an intervention with our race, yet we have already seen examples of this programming. There had already been the “Bluestreak Case”, where the Streak who encountered the Waruder army’s Probe Insecter completely changed. We need to take action! If the Waruder are such an evil menace, I would fight them anyway. Nonetheless, the decision and determination should be our own!

Congrats getting one! From my JP source, 2ndary sale MPs except the recent knucklehead Seekers are hard to find now. MP-01, Default Shockwave, Delta Magnus, UM, Ramjet and occasionally Starsaber are all that's being sold around.

Alright, now that's a good picture we can have some dialogue around. That's a fairly excessive, to me, paint defect. I would have returned that for an exchange right away. This is also not common, at all, on this figure. Nor is this kind of paint damage common right of the box of any MP
Did you try reaching out to your retailer?
The door gap is normal. You might get it in a little bit more, if you massage it around. That said, it is pretty minimal, imo.
As for the small gun, it has a specific direction it must go in. Have you verified you have the correct orientation? Secondly it's not meant to be rock solid connection, it's just a storage option. Thirdly, the panel has a pretty hard detent, and tends to snap into place with a little force. It's normally that snap that will cause the gun to pop off. Try closing that panel slowly and supporting it as you close it, and the gun should stay on.
It really does sound like you just got a bad copy. If you read through the thread, you'll find this figure has nearly universal praise. It was such a solid release in terms of QC, that it's surprising you seem to be having so many issues.
I'll gonna end it on this, and then I'm moving on:
Don't let this one experience completely sour you on MPs. I understand you only have this one experience, but read through, and see that yours is the exception, not the norm. Your particular copy may have, indeed, been a bad copy, but try not to assume that's how everyone's is, and label the whole figure as a failure.

Sorry, my penchant for smart-assery got the best of me. I can’t tell for sure from your pic, and it’s even harder to tell in hand, but it could be that your mirrors are left/right swapped. On all of my copies of this mold, the tapered side of the mirror points away from the car. Again, it’s hard to tell what side the taper is on because they are so small, but in your pic, the side that is oriented toward the door window in your pic is pointed away from the door window on all of mine. I can’t seem to move the mirrors separate from the doors on any of mine, but I haven’t transformed them in a while.

I’ll say this. A few of Sunstreaker MPs did have paint chipping from their face and and their yellow paint (albeit not a lot on those figures). As bad as your case is, I would still say order another to enjoy. The mold is lots of fun. It might be an isolated case, but I’m not taking away from your experience as well.

Scan it with the camera of your smart phone and the Google translate app and you can get the description you need from Japanese to English

Damn, dude, seriously? Why such an antagonistic attitude? I though I was answering some of your questions, but you seem to want to argue about it.
Have you ever stopped to consider that your previous posts were missed? This forum moves fast. I'm on here daily, and never saw them. But no, instead you've decided it's some personal attack. Ok…
Uh..same thing? Regardless of what you, specifically, want to call it, from all accounts SpinOut has had a stellar paint job. With little, to no reports of flaking, chipping, scratching, etc.

As what? No issues in my copy. No big as getting a lemon is part of the trade. I move on. O and I don't get( any monetary benefits from the hobby except for the dopamine rush) jack squat from Hb or Takara.
Too bad this soured your experience with the line.
