Courtesy of the detective job of our very own Jtprime17, we can share for you the official product description of the Earthrise Earthmode 2-Pack, revealing that Prowl and Ironhide are coming in hot!
We had reported an early listing via Amazon Germany in March about a new Eartrise “Earthmode 2-pack” with not much information about it. Now a new listing via Amazon France finally reveals the content of this product:
A battlefield to build! The siege is over, but the war for Cybertron has only just begun. Although Autobots and Decepticons have left Cybertron, their fight continues in space as they search for the Allspark. The Autobot Alliance and the elite hunters compete! The images on the packs of the WFC-E31 Autobot Alliance and the WFC-E27 elite fighters show both sides of their epic battle after the Ark landed on Earth. Combining the two completes the battle scene (elite fighters WFC-E27 sold separately, while stocks last) Tough, safety officer Autobot Ironhide converts into a van in 22 stages. Military strategist Autobot Prowl converts to a police car in 15 steps. The toy also contains 2 blasters. Transformers and all associated characters are trademarks of Hasbro.
We are yet to see images of the toys, but we are sure many fans would be interested in Earthrise versions of Prowl and Ironhide. It’s good to notice that this a new “Autobot Alliance” 2-pack and another “Elite Fighters/Hunters” 2-pack will also be released. We still have no concrete information about the characters on this pack yet.

Smokescreen was never a fan favorite of mine but I always loved the small design differences between him and the other two Datsuns bros.
SPLIT LIP
Was it unnecessary retooling on the G1 toys?
The universe mould also, like, sucked ass. Plus it was a completely different car.
Also, you didn't answer my question: where would this retooling have been better used? Because otherwise, what is actually the harm here? Are we really at the point where we're going to complain about retooling done for character accuracy?
Jeddostotle7
This isn't "aping the cartoon" anymore than it's aping the toy. It's just paying homage to the fact that the car Smokescreen turned into wasn't straight-up the same model of Datsun in a different paint scheme, it was a significantly modified racing version with a new front end and spoiler:
And even the extent of retooling they did back in '85 wasn't as different from the base Datsun model as its real life counterpart; the whole siding of the IRL car was different from a normal Datsun as well:
Plus, having a different front end helps distinguish Smokescreen further from the other two traditional uses of the Datsun mold. It's not "unnecessary retooling", it's a useful change to help distinguish them visually and make Smokescreen's vehicle mode closer to what it's supposed to be.
G1Prowl
More along the lines that aping the toon to the point of unnecessary retooling seems excessive. The world didn't end when the Universe mold was a straight repaint.
SPLIT LIP
I mean, not really. Smokescreen has always been retooled from Prowl and Bluestreak in alt mode. He's a rally car, and Prowl's tooling can now be used for Silver/Bluestreak.
Where, though? Prowl has a new head, what else would he need if not for the new bumper?
Jeddostotle7
The Smokescreen toy did actually have that remolding (based on some of the extra stuff that racing model of the Datsun has irl), and that's why the cartoon had the difference as well.
With Earthrise replicating that difference, now we properly have Smokescreen as a racing Datsun-ish, and Prowl (and probably Bluestreak as well) as a normal street Datsun-ish.
Yoshimon7
i actually like the remolding. helps distinguish between the datsun s1 look and the datsun s2 look. despite smokescreen being the same toy mold he looked different than prowl in s2 cartoon. the remolding def helps with that cartoon accuracy.
NOBLExGAMER
I dig it, helps separate the characters more. Make them more unique!
G1Prowl
Not sure why I was quoted, but okay. Yeah, it was unnecessary to remold it. More cost to the mold that could have been used elsewhere.

As much as I'd thought about skipping the ironhide 2 pack they show figure pics and now i want it. So i guess they pull me back in Just when i thought I'd pass but now I'm not.
Jeddostotle7
Do keep in mind, the light is casting pretty much primarily directly downwards in that pic, causing Ironhide to cast shadow on himself; I'm betting the different red parts won't look remotely that different in better lighting or in hand.
Gumblor Gimbles
Ironhide looks absolutely foul. There’s at least four different shades of red there. Amazingly, I prefer Prowl when I expected it to be the opposite way around. I have to agree with @SPLIT LIP , Ironhide really does look like a third party company from 2008 tried to make the Siege version look more G1 with the budget of a school lunch.

I now definitely see what people are saying about this Prowl having Bluestreak’s head. Maybe the Siege head will be an easy swap, as I happen to have a spare Siege Prowl.

Thundershot
Prowl looks good. Too bad he’s only in a two pack. I might get it eventually. Ironhide just makes me want Ratchet all the more. Hopefully we get to see him soon.
SPLIT LIP
Given the way he transforms I'm pretty sure it has to be. That's his roof, yet his robot mode back is the vehicle mode's underside.
Wh33l JcK
I want to see the back of Ironhide’s alt-mode… see how those feet look sticking out the back.
DutyBeforeAll
But at least it’s not Partsforming!
SPLIT LIP
The stylistic discontinuity between the newly moulded parts and reused parts from Siege Ironhide is distracting and hideous. It looks like an old 3P "upgrade" set.
Rakzo
Siege Ironhide was the best Generations Ironhide we ever got.
"Was".
