TFcon Toronto 2020 has been rescheduled to September 4-6 2020 to ensure in advance that it is safe to proceed with the convention. We feel this new date will give us a better chance to deliver the event that our fans and supporters look forward to every year.
Attendees with hotel reservations in the TFcon block do NOT have to contact the hotel to cancel their July reservations (it will be done automatically), but you DO need to rebook a reservation for the September date.
All exhibitor bookings have been automatically transferred to the new date, no action is required.
Our expectation is that due to the strict sanitation and physical distancing protocols that have become the new norm, we will likely require attendees to wear masks and we will need to limit the number of people on the show floor to ensure a safe environment for all of us come this fall.
Being a smaller collector show we have a better chance of making this work than a massive Comic Con event come September.
Stay safe everyone.

I'm not hating on TFCon I want it to happen, but I'm not sure why they are planning it again for a few months down the road, unless they stand to lose money. Right now just isn't the time. There isn't even a cure for Coronovirus. It just doesn't make sense. Even Free Comic Day is gonna go digital and I think it's gonna be in September.

None of this reads to me as hating on TFCon. We all love it. We care about it and the people that attend. That’s why we gotta keep each other safe, and also voice our uncertainty to attend.

Calm down guys. Don't hate on tfcon for just planning for the future. If it happens it happens.

Sorry if I dont have faith this year. Every thing is just getting cancelled left and right due by this bug thats going on about. So forgive me if I am not holding my breath for this moment and just wishing every one to stay safe out there. And I send this message to those who are sick, stay strong, do not doubt your self

Well TFcon save me lots of money by changing the rule
By limiting how many go in is saying well the first 20 guys go in and buy all the limit collector transformers and unique transformers ansd come out and say I got them all who wants to pay triple the cost to get one and then I go in and Get nothing and waste 50 to get in
Why would you even bother having a conversation then , I could go to the store with the same chance finding earthrise optimus that means fat chance finding one ,just like going to this Convention

This hobby isn't worth anyone's health, or a loved one's life.
There's no magical end date. We are unfortunately well passed the point where even total quarantine would eliminate the virus. motorhead9999 was right on the money.

This.
Diseases tend to flare up in the Fall. If this virus is anything like the Flu, it is incredibly risky to hold any large gatherings in the Fall.
I appreciate the attempt to return to normalcy and the need to support everyone who has lost income over this virus, but… A new outbreak could cost untold life and financial loss! It's like playing with fire. Better to wait for a vaccine or effective treatment.
Instead, I would love to see internet alternatives. Reveals, contests, celebrity appearances, etc. I think there are a lot of creative ways to host these conventions virtually, much like you would host a TV event most don't go to (i.e. Emmy's). Who wouldn't enjoy a virtual convention from the comfort of home, with chat rooms, and special prize opportunities?

As much as I love TFCon, I kind of hope it ends up being cancelled until next year just to be on the safe side.

None of what you said is true. This virus isn't going to disappear no matter how much we socially distance. With the current mindset right now, the only way we will.be out of this is if either the virus mutates to a less lethal form, we get an effective cure, or a vaccine emerges. The vaccine in a best case probably won't be ready till next year, even if we all hike up in our residences for a whole year.

Yeah… I\'ll wait for Reston 2021.

think this date will change or all together get cancelled. hoping for the best but being realistic

September is wayyyy too soon.
at the rate things are going with the virus, people's refusal to stay the fuck home, the overworked and ineffective medical care systems, and outright collective stupidity of humanity, we're gonna be dealing with this shit well into February 2021. (And that's a hopeful guess)
OriginalFire
So this COVID-19 is gonna be gone by September? Is this a joke? They gotta flat out cancel this.
