After the postponement of sister convention WonderCon Anaheim, the initial statement that “No one is as hopeful as we are that we will be able to celebrate #SDCC2020 together come July,” and the pausing of early bird hotel sales, Comic-Con posted the following today:
Comic-Con Cancellation/Refund Policy
All individuals who purchased badges for Comic-Con 2020 will have the option to request a refund or transfer their badges to Comic-Con 2021. All 2020 badge holders will receive an email within the next week with instructions on how to request a refund. Thank you for your patience.
The historical “WonderCon Anaheim tested, Comic-Con approved!” Toucan footsteps of RFID Badges and the Exclusives Portal – which is of annual interest to attendees in the TFW2005 community hunting for Hasbro’s Transformers-related exclusives –
might indicate the possibility of an online component launching on or near the originally planned convention dates of July 22-26, similar to April’s WonderCon@Home.
Update: Full press release here, which reads in part:
For the first time in its 50-year history San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC), the organizers behind the annual pop culture celebration, announced today with deep regret that there will be no Comic-Con in 2020. The event will instead return to the San Diego Convention Center from July 22-25, 2021.
Similarly, WonderCon Anaheim, which was to have been held April 10-12, 2020 will return to the Anaheim Convention Center from March 26-28, 2021.
“Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures and while we are saddened to take this action, we know it is the right decision,” said David Glanzer, spokesperson for the organization. “We eagerly look forward to the time when we can all meet again and share in the community we all love and enjoy.”
Be safe, stay tuned for updates and sound off on the 2005 boards!

Well yeah its been disappointing more than any other but its expected with the stupid virus….. companies have decided to do reveals on their own so it leaves comic con online bare bones and dull
BBJazz
Most likely, yeah. It still strikes me as odd that they would have an exhibit with nothing to show.

So far, SDCC@home has been very disappointing. More Disappointing than any other SDCC I remember.

This has been disappointing. I misread one of the posts and thought that a Transformers-centered panel was happening today. Hopefully, we'll still get waves of reveals around this Comic-Con period. After all, for the last couple of SDCCs, NYCCs, and maybe even New York Toy Fairs, I remember Hasbro doing online reveals in the weeks leading up to the conventions. I don't prefer that course of action as that ruins the momentum of the excitement for the reveals at the conventions themselves, but I guess that shows that that's an option. It's a bit surprising to me that they just decided to reveal Studio Series Leadfoot alone, but I'm hoping that we'll get some other surprise reveals at this time, but maybe outside of Comic-Con.

It seems like they're not planning on revealing anything transformers related at comic con?
