Thanks to tfcollect on Instagram we have some great in-hand images of the new Transformers Generations Selects Micromaster Soundwave Spy Patrol (3rd Unit) 4-Pack.
This pack is inspired by the G1 mini-cassettes and it includes redecos of Micromasters Rumble as Frenzy (blue guy) and Ratbat as Wingthing (based on Action Master Soundwave partner). The other two cassettes are redecos and slight remolds of the aforementioned figures as Skar and Knok respectively. These are homages to G1 Doubledealer’s Powermaster partners, and the reason why the new Earthrise Doubledealer has got slots for them.
Check out the mirrored images after the jump and then sound off on the 2005 Boards. You can also find pre-orders for these new figures via our sponsors links below.

From a vantage point it seems to be another home run for TT/Hb with this mold.

I like the mold personally, it's like it stepped right out of the late 80s appearance wise

Slapdash of G1 fame also had that feature. You can either stick him to the "lock" and his back ailerons. You can also do that with the original Dd (stick Skar on his butt or the other when in Falcon mode).
I can't say yet about the new Dd 'cause I haven't got one yet. And I'm hyped for him!

Doubledealer has a removable engine block you can peg to the back of their tape modes if that is any consolation

Like what?

The Powermasters back in 1988 were like the progenitors of the Cyberkeys for Galaxyforce. Great gimmick to "unlock" your TFs but it greatly affects the figure's poseability if implemented now. But given how Hb/TT is doing cost "effectiveness" in their products, I understand why/how the homogenized the size of what was an engine block to a microcassette. I do wish it could have included an extra "engine" extension but thems the break. Small favor that the gave them new heads.
Also, just received my set after nearly 2 months in customs prison. Waiting on Dealer P.O. from Takara aka amiami.

I guess I was just expecting them to do something new to the toy, which understandably doesn't happen
T-Hybrid
…that was what the Powermasters did. They sat in the chest.

View attachment 28781776 This is silly, I know, but you can tab knok and skar together with a bit of fiddling.
Once that's done, they're relatively secure and you can stick them into the chest panel together.
It looks goofy, but they hold on pretty well… Well, knok is far more secure than Skar, but that may be just mine.View attachment 28781774

Yeah, they're basically just deployers.

All I know was that they were supposed to go with ER Doubledealer, but I genuinely didn't know how they interact with the figure
BBJazz
That would be cool, I'm just asking because your post seemed genuinely surprised. Did you not know what these figures could do?
Joeyz1231
Yea I think I'll display him like this too, thanks for the idea!
Siege Fan
Yup, looks a bit rough from the top down, doesn't it, but it's probably how I'll display mine to make use of the tapes!
Joeyz1231
Doesn't sit flush, but not a bad look, actually

Have you spun the chest piece round so it's against his chest and then attached the 'engine block' to the tape's peg?
Joeyz1231
I guess so. Idk this gave me the same odd feeling as when I got MakeToys Galaxy Meteor and he still came with a cyberkey, but it just didn't do anything, since the gimmick itself activated in a different way
Q Prime
To be fair without the powermaster functionality the originals didn't do much else.
Joeyz1231
idk man, maybe an alternate engine piece from Skar, integrate it into the vehicle / beast mode to "complete the look", anything other than being filler pieces or meat shields I guess?
BBJazz
Did you expect more?
