I came up with a Wave 5-Wave 1 combo the other day. Play Grenade Launcher and Blade Flurry on the same turn in that order & you have +8 attack for that turn.

Agreed. I mentioned it that way as I do not know what official terminology they'd use for it. If they did go this route, they might have to name off each individual combiner teams and the combiner name, making for one heck of a long sub-title. But again, my example is just a speculation.

Because of the way Stratagems work, I don't think they can specifically call out "Enigma-based Combiners" on one. So we'd instead have to have a unique stratagem for each Combiner team.
As I mentioned on the Discord, I still think the best option is an "Enigma-lite" Stratagem. Something like:

At the start of your turn, if you have six Sentinels in bot mode between the battlefield and/or in your KO area, you may combine them into Optimus Maximus, Ultimate Defender. if you do, flip this.
Your Optimus Maximus, Ultimate Defender has Bold 1, Tough 1, and Focus 1.
Basically, you get a guaranteed combine if something prevents you from playing your Enigma on time, or you get a minor bonus to your combiner if you manage to combine normally.

@That Guy. Glad to see I wasn't the only one that thought up the whole using Stratagems for Enigma based combiners.
I was hoping they'd either make new Stratagems that completely replaced the Enigmas (which would make Enigmas obsolete), or (if they wanted to have Enigmas to retain some worth) made one general Stratagem that fetched the Enigma and put it on the Stratagem using its text (this method would save costs as they only have to print one general Stratagem).
Example –

Before the game begins -> You may reveal an Enigma from your deck and put it on top of this Stratagem. This Stratagem assumes the text of that Enigma placed on it.
When you perform the Combiner Mode ability on this Enigma/Stratagem -> Flip this Stratagem (along with the attached Enigma).

Basically it turned the Enigma into a Stratagem in every way. Though the abilities didn't use up your action for the turn (like all typical Stratagems), it does make the Enigma's text one time use (in order not to abuse), all while addressing the inherent weakness of Enigmas getting scrapped from one's hand.

It is fun! I think partnering Soundwave with a ranged character to give you a chance to pick up the green pip when they attack would be preferred.
I had some thoughts about Combiners in Wave 2 I wanted to share:
The TLDW is that enigma combiners are in a really tough spot right now, and I predict WoTC moving away from enigma combiners for the other scramble city teams we know and love based on the success dialing in of other combiners a la Sky Shadow and Omega Supreme.
I also hope we get a retro strat that does this:

Even though Soundwave (G1) is not ranged to take full advantage of flipping the green ranged icon, I think his ability to choose a card and place it on top of an opponent's deck combos well with Paralyzo Box for Soundwave or one of his mini-cassettes.

Cheers both for the clarification. I might hace to look at doing a car deck with Bumpers in and maybe throw in a Defensive Configuration to allow a regular armor. I've played some really good games on the 'Transformers Webcam Games' Facebook group and seem to get sandblasted by Horri-Bull a fare bit. Regards

Bumpers, a Car-only Armor, prevents moving damage. It's the only way, however.

Right now I don't think any effect stops moving damage. I may be forgetting a card though.

Brilliant thanks. In which case what cards can stop Wingsweeper and Horr-bull ping damage?

It stops any card that says deal damage, character or battle cards. It does not stop moving damage like Windsweeper and Horr-bull alt mode.

Sorry is this has been asked/answed already but… What does Holomatter Projector / Defensive Driving stop? Does it stop Windsweeper and Horribull ping damage or just things like zap? Cheers

Why do you need numericals when the card mentions "a Plane or Helicopter" on one of them. The other "a Car, Tank, or Truck" (meaning 1 of)?
