Thanks to 2005 Boards member Mr. Chaos for giving us the heads up of some new Transformers Deluxe Class Earhtrise Walmart listings: Airwave, Alicon, Arcee And Smokescreen.
These are new and exciting new releases for the Earthrise line, and thanks to 2005 Boards member Jtprime17 we can also share for you the respective EAN codes and confirmed listings via Walmart mobile website:
- TRA GEN WFC E DELUXE Quintesson Alicon
EAN: 5010993648634 - TRA GEN WFC E DELUXE Airwave
EAN: 5010993648627 - TRA GEN WFC E DELUXE Arcee
EAN: 5010993648641 - TRA GEN WFC E DELUXE Smokescreen
EAN: 5010993648658
This is sure an exciting list of characters, and it gives is much to think and speculate. Would this be our first official toy of the Quintessons’ guards? What can we expect from Airwave? A new Modulator? Arcee is sure a promising new mold after their previous Generations incarnations. Smokescreen is sure a surprise considering we already have a Siege Smokescreen in the market recently. Or is he a new incarnation of G2 Smokescreen or other universe?

Well, MP Arcee is just revealed, so I was epically wrong

My best 'guess' is that siege got 5 waves so they could kick earthrise and all future lines into being contained within a single year. 2020 for earthrise, 2021 for the next line etc. This way the newest line isn't showing up in November/ December when stores are putting everything on clearance.
barry
There's a wave released per financial quarter/season. The indicative dates for releases are April/July/October/December. Whether ER will definitely be only 4th waves or is likely to have a 5th wave, as Siege did, remains to be confirmed.
Fenrys
every line typically has 3 month gaps between waves
Lazerwave
To me, it's also a matter of how long earthrise will last with gaps like that.
barry
It's like the word 'indicative' never existed. Good work, the ghost of Andrew Carnegie.
Fenrys
siege was extended to 5 waves, it was meant to be 4, so yes waves are scheduled quarterly. siege wave 5 had a scheduled december/january release for the various size classes, thats why earthrise wave 1 was scheduled for march/april
SiegeWFC
Waves are net set for quarterly. They try to refresh the line yearly now and 5 waves of Deluxes does not = 4 quarters.
Considering Siege wave 1 deluxes came out in January of last year and wave 5 deluxes came out in November
They ship stuff as its manufactured and it ships to retailers who have a estimated release date. Only when there is a movie tie-in are items dated for release. That is for all toylines.
Fenrys
slow down and actually read what i wrote before you try and argue with me. not once have i said that target doesnt do its own thing, i said HASBRO schedules waves to release quarterly and that they show up earlier than that in store, but there is still a pattern to it from which information can be gathered. if wave 1 is showing up at target 2 months earlier than hasbros estimated date then it is reasonable to expect the same of wave 2. but im sure youll try and argue this as well considering its the same thing ive said in my last two posts
Starfire22
Heh. This got me good.
PrimalFury
I'm telling you, Target doesn't care about your dates, they go by their own street dates and schedule, if their people say hey, put the toys out, they put them out, it's that simple, online release dates, dates from Hasbro are irrelevant to retail stores, they decide when to put their own products out once they have them otherwise I wouldn't have ER wave 1 right now because it's not March or April and no it's not "early" it's on time for Target, it has been this way for a long time. You can literally call Target right now and they will tell you this.
Fenrys
it is how it works though, waves are SCHEDULED to release quarterly, meaning if wave 1 is scheduled to release april 2 (the date listed at most online retailers) then it makes perfect sense for wave 2 to have an estimated release of early July (3 months or 1/4 of the year later). Considering wave 1 is showing up in stores in early februrary (2 months eartly) it is reasonable to assume that brick and mortar stores will also start getting wave 2 in early as well, likely in may.

What I'd give for a reissue of Apeface that had a better color of white…
PrimalFury
That's not really how it works, the wave 1 march/april release date was for online retailers most of whom still dont have figures and probably wont until march or later in Feb. Retail is NOT bound by the online dates of Amazon, BBTS etc, as soon as retail gets them, they choose when they put their stock out, not Hasbro or anyone else and Retail in my experience is always ahead of online in terms of release etx
Fenrys
wave 1 is slated for an april release at a lot of retailers (despite arriving early) and waves are quarterly so july for wave 2 makes sense and will likely pop up in april or may since wave 1 is popping up now
Foster
Those Amazon listings look good and like Wave 1, will probably trickle out to b&m earlier. And there's probably more to be listed for July, like the Micromasters!
Robogeek28
So it's YOUR fault!
Jtprime17
Odds are they’ll show up at retail at the end of may, but yes the estimated online release date is July. That would make it about a 3 month gap between wave 1’s online release date (March 1st).
General Tekno
Do we know if Singe is getting a repack in Earthrise? I forget.

The devil on your shoulder telling you to buy more figures
