New third party company Lemon Tree is sure working fast to catch the attention of collectors. Following their first two projects LT-01 Lemon Prime (Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime) and LT-02 Neutronstar (Bumblebee Movie Starscream) they surprise us with images and renders of their next product: LT-03 Purple Potato (Transformers The Movie 1984 Decepticon Battleship).
Lemon Tree is bringing us what seems to be a non-transformable rendition of Galvatron’s battleship from the original G1 Transformers movie. The renders and gray prototype images reveal a very nice and detailed mold which we are sure will please your optics and nostalgia. The exact size of this ship is not so clear at the moment. According to a rough Google translation on Lemon Trees’ Weibo post, the height will be more than 22 cm/8 inches tall… so we just can just guess the length. To make things more complicated (or exciting), Lemon Tree comments on the Weibo thread indicate this ship would be Masterpiece scaled. Take this with a grain of salt until we get a proper confirmation.
Update: This is a transforming figure. It transforms into an original version of Shockwave. You can see the new color renders here.

Eye painted cuz I don’t care much for LEDs.

EDIT: Okay hot take, but I really like the transformation. I’ve found it really easy and have done it like five times now. It gets pretty intuitive after a while.

Okay…final thoughts.
Following Emgo’s transformation video, I got it into ship mode in one try. I had 0 issues putting the “potato” together and lining things up. The issues that did crop up were pretty surprising.
The tabs that let you lock the side spindle things in alt mode were way too big to fit into their slots. They had to be sanded down. Also, even with the magnets facing the right way and the forearms snapping together perfectly, the very front of the nosecone just would not tab in. I had to beef up the tabs with some superglue before it worked.
The materials seemed to hold up fine. I never felt like I was in danger of breaking it. I did notice two small stress marks on the leg panels that form the potato, but I almost expect that to happen with any 3P MP/DLX style figure. The amount of panel forming required pretty much guarantees it.
Not gonna lie, the transformation was almost fun. The ship mode is beautiful, yes, but I honestly like the bot mode enough that I’m willing to periodically shift between modes.
Overall rating is a light 8/10. Great sculpt and cool engineering. Better QC and premium plastic would have made it a 9, and some paint apps on the plain grey parts would have bumped it to a 10.

Oh I got it now. It’s a hook and you have to lock it.
octobotimus
As far as I can tell just slot it in and lightly pull downward to make sure it hooks on.

This is it untabbed. What do I need to do from here for it to secure?
Furb
Make sure the small hinges are pointed the right way, be careful of those anyway as I've broken one before. Got a replacement but I'm a bit extra careful of those
Tip for those sliders of the arms what a lot of people complain about, make sure the head isn't tucked into the body, that makes all the difference because the sliders aren't rubbing against his head…

Well, here he is. First impression, the bot mode is quite nice. Very good articulation. The plastic feels…alright. Not bad but not premium.
Does anyone have an issue where the backpack doesn’t tab into his back all that tightly?
Furb
This is what i was talking about.
Just put a dot in there so you know where it lines up. Not visible in any of the modes View attachment 29968518

Out for delivery. Let’s see how this goes.

Ironically I feel like if this was done by any of the other current 3p companies that do G1 stuff the transformation would be much worse.

I hope hasbro or someone else makes a transforming version of Galvatron's ship
this one is OK. but the transformation and plastc don't feel so great to me
Destron1
Yeah, had the same issue. Couldn't figure it out, undid the transformation, made sure everything was snug.. was on the verge of glueing the halves together as I intend to keep it in ship mode for a Legends display. And then I found the magnets.
PrimeMA2204
Would you guys say Emgo’s transformation video makes the process a lot easier?
Furb
Once you got it figured out and everything lined up, put a marker through the hole in the ankle.
That way you can just line up the dot in the center of the hole, saves you a whole lot of time
PrimeMA2204
Okay nice. I really want this figure to hold up to use. I’ve never had issues with complex transformations so I plan on mastering this guy’s.
RootNegative
Pretty good, 9/10. Better than some of the other mp figures of the same price range.
I found you have to have the feet rotated exactly to close everything up. Once they are it should close up easily and hold closed well.
Criggity
My biggest issue were the magnets in the forearms that were backwards, so the front wouldn't tab together. I had no idea it had them! Only until drowning the tabs in clear nail polish did I see that someone on here had the same problem, which made it an easy fix.
