News hat for 2005 Boards member megatronski for sharing in our boards photographic proof of his sighting of the new Studio Series Wave 8 Voyager Class Megatron (Transformers 2007) At US Retail.
SS-54 Megatron (from the first live-action movie) was spotted at Wal-Mart in Lakewood, Colorado. While there was no sign of his wave partner SS-53 Mixmaster, we hope he will surface any time soon.
Update: SS-53 Revenge Of The Fallen Mixmaster was spotted at Walmart in Tyler, Texas by 2005 Boards user smiller0570.
Happy hunting!

Had to go back and pick up Megatron today, he just looked too good to skip. A surprising heft too when I picked up the box and noticed that he fills it a lot more than most voyagers have done.

Yesterday I got a notice from Amazon that Mixmaster has shipped and I will be getting him on Thursday. Hopefully that means Scavenger and Shockwave are not far behind in release.

I didnt get the last one, and honestly hate the look of it. I really REALLY like the look and (now) feel of this one. It may be short for a leader, but it comes with a lot of stuff, and man does it FEEL hefty.

I'll have to see Astrotrain in person, but for some reason I am not clamoring for another version of him. Same thought crossed my mind on Megatron as there were 6 on the shelf and only 2 mixmasters (before I grabbed my set), but then I thought about all the tweekers I passed in that Walmart on my way to the toy aisle (I go at 11pm) and thought to myself, do I really want to line my up for more trips here than I really need. That Walmart has gotten rough over the past few years (though I have been solicited at the other walmart in town a few times).

Im there with you on megatron. Only reason why I didnt get him today was I was already grabbing Mixmaster and Siege Astrotrain, and with the new 3 figure case for voyagers, I can see this being an easy to find figure, like most megatrons end up being.

Found em tonight, as much as I wanted to, I couldn't pass on Megatron, the paint apps are fantastic. Other than having big ol calves, it is a really solid movie rendition.
Mixmaster is so-so in bot mode, but (at this point) I only plan on getting one set of the constructicons, I will forgive that if the combined mode turns out decent. Hoping they release a box set, or if I get bored, all the pieces go on deep sale (if I do decide I need a second set). Just can't justify dropping $250+ on two sets without having the full team in-hand.

Blown away! Just found numerous cases of these 2 at my local Oregon, OH, WalMart! Bought instantly!

Found a huge restock of SS voyagers today, with all being the Megs/Mixmaster wave. Cincinnati, Ohio area.

Thanks for the heads up. Managed to find the wave at a walmart in Fullerton CA. They were less than retail too.

I fought hard internally over whether to get movie 1 Megatron when he hit Amazon recently, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. I'll probably snag him at retail eventually, but I'm of two minds with Studio Series. I buy nearly everything because I love the movie designs, better paint, etc., but not every character stays on the shelf for very long. At these higher price points I'm starting to pre-figure who will or won't last and push those purchases until the very last possible moment. I see Megatron relegated to a storage bin before too long. Again, I'll see how I feel when he's staring at me from a store shelf, but as of now he's a pass.
Mixmaster on the other hand… bought on sight!
We need look no further than Cyberverse waves 1 and 2 for evidence of simple transformers/designs at a lower price point not being what fans want. Hence their new BAF approach to those figures with more complexity and at a higher price point. Anyway, you make some great points but you're shouting into a well. There will always be boisterous and cacophonous discussion about price, size, quality and that's what boards like this exist for. I say bring it on. All of the gnashing of teeth does eventually result in something and that's improvement. We're seeing it in the product we're all enjoying now. Be constructive of course, but don't pipe down. Keep your comments coming, I say.

If people cant understand that costs for the figures have gone up, design of the figures have gotten better, and molding has gotten better, and that constitutes a price hike from time to time, then I dont know what to tell them. If people want bigger, cheaper, simpler toys like TF's used to be, then buy the KO's. I'm fine with siege being 20/30/50, because they are better quality plastic and feel less hollow and cheap than POTP. I also pick and choose which ones I want to get, and dont just get everything I even remotely want anymore.
Everything is more expensive in 2019/2020. It's due to political issues (we all know what I mean), and companies having to raise prices due to costs rising for every phase of the manufacturing before it reaches shelves. I have been on this board for the better part of 11 years, and in that time i've seen a metric ton of complaints about just making things big for the sake of size class. Now that theyre at least thinking about scale, then suddenly people say they refuse to buy Cliffjumper because he's "a legends class", when another vocal minority would be upset if he was taller than Hound, Sideswipe, or Ironhide. Price issues come back to sizing for most people, because they feel Cliff is too small to be worth 20 bucks. Value is relative and I will absolutely have no issue spending 20 on Cliff.
I'd rather have more accurate, better looking, and more complex designs like in Siege, than them purposefully making in show designs simpler to match the simplicity of the toys like in the Unicron Trilogy.

The Deluxes are also in Canada too.

Well, that happened sooner than expected. Time to complete the 2007 movie cast!

I ordered him Megatron a few days ago on Amazon and got him yesterday for the regular price of $29.99 USD. I\'m shocked how early I was able to get him! Had no idea they would release so early like that. Though he is a similar mold to the ROTF Megatron, he is unique still and pretty cool, but will never match the MPM Megatron, but he is by far way better than the old Movie 1 Ice Megatron and the original Leader version.

But then what will some people needlessly and aimlessly complain about?

I stopped looking at them as size classes and more like price points ages ago. Once you move beyond the whole size thing it becomes a lot more fun and easier to follow.

Sometimes I can't help but wonder how much Lockdown would weight with his weapons against a typical Deluxe of his class (e.g. Cybertronian Optimus Prime) and a small Voyager like Lugnut and Blackout. I'm just curious if the whole height V mass argument for short Voyagers is true or not.
