Last week many fans got their copy of “Transformers: A Visual History” by Jim Sorenson. The book overall covers the art of the last 35 years of the Transformers brand. One of the fun easter eggs in the book is the unused artwork for Power of the Primes Primal Prime. At this point it might be unlikely this figure will see the light of day but with Generation Selects, time will tell.

thats what i was leaning towards but i wasnt sure
IgnikaMarcus
Fan made name.
Fenrys
I think I remember Tsarscream being thrown around for starscreams combined mode, but I don’t know if that was fan made or even remotely official
T-Hybrid
What sucks is now we're so far past PotP that I doubt we'd be able to get it into the conversation…unless we got them talking about combiners again.
G.B. Blackrock
To the best of my knowledge, no. In fact, I don't think I've come across Matt Clark's name ever again.
(If the TFWiki entry for HasCon is correct, I guess that surname should be "Clarke." In my defense, I only ever heard it verbally.)
T-Hybrid
Now that PotP has played itself out…has anybody ever doubled-back to Warden to ask if he got the names for Inferno and Starscream's combined modes?
Fenrys
Good haha, we all can get a bit passionate at times haha
T-Hybrid
Oh this is by no means a situation where anyone's being an ass. So don't worry in that regard.
Fenrys
I’m not necessarily trying to say they’re impossible either (though I might be coming across that way), I just fail to see any evidence that primal was always a part of the line and @T-Hybrid stating that as a fact/certainty when there is a lack of supporting evidence just bugs me sorry if I’ve been a bit of an ass @T-Hybrid , I enjoy our discussions, this is just one we happen to disagree on
G.B. Blackrock
To be clear, for my part, nothing I've said was ever an attempt to prove that T-Hybrid's theories are impossible.
Simply that they're by no means certain. Evidence suggests they're not even the most likely scenario.
T-Hybrid
And your evidence are "trends" that require you to ignore certain situations.
Like I said, we're looking at the same things and seeing different trends/patterns. I'm fine being wrong, but I'd love to see what Hasbro would've done had literally anybody but Primal won because the way it played out for them was incredibly tidy. (Not saying the polls are rigged, just saying we may have done them a big favor)
Fenrys
You haven’t presented any evidence for your claims other than maybes. Nothing to show that primal was always a planned part of the line
T-Hybrid
The problem is we're looking at the same evidence and coming to different conclusions.
I would say Deathsaurus and Star Saber being in the poll suggests Hasbro is far more open to making those figures a reality that people give them credit for.
Maybe. I'm getting ahead of myself saying there'll be a TM2 Megatron, but he feels like someone who'd be a good reuse of a Deathsaurus when the time finally comes.
Hanzkaz
Let's see, Deathsaurus means Victory Leo and Star Saber?
TM2 Megatron means new Cryotek?
Actually, my first thought was, 'Deathsaurus? Where is he?!'.
I just hope I don't end up thinking 'This guy's a lot shorter than I remember….'.
Fenrys
so you know with 100% certainty that primal prime wasnt an original option as the sdcc exclusive? at least my arguments have tangible evidence, all yours have is maybes
T-Hybrid
We can get both. If Hasbro does end up doing a line that plays up beast modes, there's a good chance they could drip into some of the older lines for figures.
I think more people than would care to admit would love some boxed sets that gave us repaints of existing molds as Primal/Megatron.
Skullsmasher/Mindwipe. Apeface/Snapdragon. Optimal/Deathsaurus. (because trust me, Deathsaurus is coming and he'll almost certainly get a TM2 Megatron repaint).
Hanzkaz
I actually mentioned that idea on these boards ages back during Titans Return. I'd forgotten all about that. I guess that's probably more likely.
To be honest, though, I'd prefer a Primal Prime.
Oh well, at least we know that Hasbro have been thinking about him…
T-Hybrid
Except we saw Hasbro originally planned a Primal Prime and then decided against it. Potentially because he won the poll and now they had a different repaint they could use. You also assume that literally *none* of the poll options would have been a retool/repaint of existing leader molds thus eliminating the need for one of the three we got.
This is such a *huge* caveat considering you have to throw out an entire poll winner to make it fit.
Which is another huge caveat because you're taking something that proves one argument (polls are an illusion of choice) and trying to turn it back around that we're really making a huge difference.
I'm telling you, the polls are an illusion of choice.
Fenrys
youre ignoring that retail primal was specifically marketed as the fan vote winner
youre ignoring that the 3rd mold retail leader shared a mold with the sdcc exclusive
youre ignoring that each of the 3 leader molds got a repaint
youre ignoring that every NEW mold fan vote winner has only ever been repainted by hasbro as that same character (if at all) up to this point
youre ignoring that no NEW mold fan vote winner has ever shared parts with a previous figure
youre ignoring that siege ultra magnus and shockwave have fundamental engineering differences from power of the primes leaders
youre ignoring that of the fan vote losers we have gotten, all of them have been new molds
youre ignoring primals retail bio, which states he is the newest matrix barer
youre assuming without proof that primal would have been in power of the primes regardless
this assumption means there would have been a 4th new mold leader, which breaks precedent of 2 new molds in combiner wars and 3 new molds in titans return, or it increases the need from 6 leaders to 8 to allow for a repaint of the 4th mold
youre assuming that any number of the 8 potential winners were retools of each other
all im saying is there is more evidence in one camp than the other and your argument fails under logical scrutiny due to lack of evidence and emphasis on assumptions
T-Hybrid
I think at this point it'd be a bigger shot if Hasbro *didn't* repaint the Horrocons as Primal/Megatron. If not for retail, then Selects.
