Courtesy of Planet Iacon – Singapore Transformers Fans Unite Facebook we can share for you several in-hand images of the new War for Cybertron: Siege Crosshairs.
Siege Crosshairs is a very smart redeco of Deluxe Siege Ironhide with a new head that works pretty well as a new character. We have comparative shots next to Siege Ironhide and Ratchet, and a very nice reunion of Crosshairs with his Targetmaster partner Pinpointer (which was released together with Takara Tomy Legends Targetmaster Windblade).

Huh…I guess you could always do that. I remember seeing some people use Cloud Roadbuster as a Crosshairs stand in before.

Got the blacklight code on the box???

While Crosshairs is now made looks nice in botmode..
He's really a "Buggy".
Not a Cybertronian SUV of sorts…
Predakwon
Not really. My point is mostly meant for the 84-85 guys since they're based on earth modes. But I was talking specifics like if Sureshot became a van or SUV or even a plane, that's something I couldn't deal with and that's where I'm coming from.
And besides toy nostalgia, in Headmasters, Rebirth, manga or Marvel comics, he didn't really do anything. He's nowhere near "iconic". None of him is. His dune buggy mode might be an important characteristic to you, fine.
T-Hybrid
The surprise was Takara forgoing Victorion in favor of inventing Megatronia from whole cloth.
Especially since, by all reports, they and Hasbro worked together on her.
THE-TRANSFORMER
That's kinda an odd thing to say though? Apart from the 84 cast and some of the 85 cast, you could apply that logic to any Transformer?
Sureshot's alt-mode is as iconic to me as Bumblebee's Volkswagen.
Agreed. It doesn't fit when there are other possibilities.
You're not thinking big enough though. It would be cheaper and easier to make a Slapdash out of Mirage. Heck, I hate to say it but even Pointblank would be easier to make out of Mirage, though I think Wheeljack might fit that bill.
Then you get 3 characters out of a new Sureshot mould, again saving money with, Sureshot, Joyride and Ruckus all sharing the mould. They all basically have the same alt mode and with slight tweaks and head-sculpts to robot mode.
That's just smart business and works out better for fans.
This way you also complete the Autobot Powermasters… though I wouldn't be against an update for Getaway.
Also, I say this wanting a new mould for Slapdash… but I know that will never happen

Crosshairs as a repaint of Ironhide
Me: "that's not gonna happen
announcement.
Me again: " 'Course I have been wrong on one or two occassions."

Hasbro also has a precedent of only using new mold fan vote characters molds as the characters they were intended to be
Windblade-sdcc windblade (airazor was funpub and slipstream Takara)
Optimal Optimus-throne of primes
Mirage-holo mirage
Impactor-decepticon impactor
Windsweeper II
Why would Crosshairs set any kind of precedent for his G1 teammates??? If I follow your logic a hypothetical new Kup, Hot Rod, and Blurr would all be redeco's of existing molds too? Because they were also 87 Autobot Targetmasters.
C16
They're both similar enough kinds of vehicles. Also, using a potential future mold to make Sureshot wouldn't any cheaper than using an already existing mold to make Sureshot. Hasbro set the precedent. Don't expect too much from a Sureshot based on Crosshairs, who looks less like his original vehicle mode than a Mirage-Sureshot would.
Windsweeper II
Well, Bee and Hound aren't really tied to those alt modes in TR or Siege anyway. No update has to be an exact copy of the G1 toy to me. Although I would have liked something more faithful to Crosshairs' G1 alt mode I'm fine with the Ironhide retool. But a F1 car is a bit too much of a deviation from a Bahja buggy to me.
Predakwon
No doubt that set is great. Especially Sideswipe, but I have no need for any of the other figures and don't have time to sell them to make up for the cost.
I'd totally be happy with a Sureshot from Siege Mirage. I'd take a Joyride, too. I don't have the Siege Ironhide mold nor the Mirage one since the Henkei ones are fine with me. It's not like the Targetmasters had significant ties to vehicle modes like Bumblebee to a Volkswagen bug or Hound to a Jeep, etc. They just need to be something close, like not a tiger or plane and I'm good. This coming from a Geewunner.
SuperLuigi65gt
Personally, I would have preferred if it was repainted into flatline, the Decepticon medic.
Max Tower
He seems like a reasonable approximation at least.
Hotshot has had many bodies, so another one doesn't much bother me. He has suitable mounting points for some sort of shoulder weapons too. also Upgrade kits for Hound exist with some rocket boxes in to give the impression of CD Hotshot's Missile spam effect. But most of all this isn't really Cybertron Hotshot any more than Movie Hotshot is Cybertron Hot Shot so there is no hard and fast justification of what he should look like in a quasi-G1 form.
I think the Alphastrike Counterforce Multipack is a good set there has certainly been many lazier giftsets released over the years than that one. G2 "Clone" Sideswipe is actually rather handsome.
I feel you – me too. Could not get a Hasbro Slugslinger either as yet. I'm reluctant to throw $60 at one now.
He's not an ambulance until he goes to Earth. So his somewhat like a Utility Vehicle "Emergency response" mode makes perfect sense in a pre-Earth context. He's also got a far superior robot mode to the old Universe toy.
Oddly he's one of the ones I'm looking forward to the most – I think to a general audience Impactor has peg warmer potential as he's kinda girls isle in his colouring. Crosshairs is very blokeish and robust looking and looks more appealing to boys. I also am keeping my fingers crossed for a set of bigger wheels as an upgrade for him eventually so I want him to be popular enough for someone to do that for him.
I have ordered an extra set with the intention of selling the robots and keeping the Targetmaster, G2 Sideswipe is pretty popular – just because he's such a darn handsome colour and I don't mind taking a hit on the other one to get a spare Targetmaster of a colour I like. Though I might actually paint the Duocon into reverse colours as a painting project rather than sell it. Depending on if I can find the perfect colour match for the magenta and the blue.
They certainly have been a bit strange with the boxed sets this year. I actually got the Japanese Twin Twist and Topspin already as the original Hasbro ones proved very difficult to find. It was easier for me to get the Takara set. I think the Takara Windblade may be slightly more nicely decorated than the Hasbro one though and she colour matches her appropriated Targetmaster fairly well. As it stands I actually use G1 repro weapons with the Jumpstarters anyway so they stand ready to lend their partners to whom soever does get released eventually.
It does cause me a minor chore trying to chase the missing Hasbro weapons for the Takara ones though.
Since I know some people hate the seat guns – if anyone wants to sell them give me a shout.
I like some of Ratchet's remoulded parts – But I think Crosshairs has great potential especially once someone makes him a wheel upgrade set.
Really ?
Well I suppose one might argue Direct Hit and Power Punch are slanted towards girly colours – but they do more than any other Micromaster pairing by virtue of having that combined vehicle mode too. I always liked he originals – two of the ones I played with the most in fact. I'm actually quite happy to pay premium toyshop prices to get them as soon as I can – perhaps out of nostalgia but also as I think they offer more in play terms – I hope they do some more too.
Apeface is perhaps not only the most desirable item in later waves he may be the most desirable item in 3 entire toyline in his size category at least. I've been slack and not bothered buying a Springer yet – I won't do the same with Ape Face. If any little kids turn their nose up at him they are missing out on some real fun with all the features he has.
They might repaint the ones they have some more or throw the odd one in some more gift sets still. But I agree more new moulds would have been desirable.
If rumours are to be believed – some think Bulkhead could be made from Earth Rise Grapple's mould.
I think they are Tampographs – and as some have also pointed out the stickers on POTP & TR were only on the larger size classes the Deluxes and Legends still had paint & Tampos.
No Me neither – annoying isn't it.
Windsweeper II
Says what? Geewun logic?
Mirage doesn't look a bit like Sureshot.
If they want to Sureshot to be retooled from someone the best fit is a future Joyride mold. Sureshot and Joyride actually do look alike in bot mode and alt mode.
They could make one from the other with a simple redeco and a new head. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper than Sureshot from Mirage.

Very glad I got LG Windblade and the Jumpstarters so I’ll be able to give the Autobot Targetmasters their guns. Excited for Crosshairs.
UltraMagnus3786
Nice Season 4 homaage with shot 34.
C16
They're saying that because that's the precedent Hasbro already set with Crosshairs and he's the best choice for him. They're not going to make the team using one remold and mix it up with a new mold.
Pretty sure American Deluxes have never had stickers on them.
Let that sink in.
What the hell does the Armada Blurr mold have anything to do with anything? He's not related to Crosshairs at all, doesn't look like him, it's a really old and weak mold. Using that mold today for anyone would be a wasted opportunity.
