Via Autobase Aichi we can share for you our first in hand images of the new Transformers Studio Series Voyager SS-54 Megatron (2007 live-action Movie.
This new mold, which is expected for release in 2020, brings us a very nice Voyager mold of the ruthless Decepticon leader in his original form for the movieverse. We have a pretty movie-accurate mold in both modes, and we are sure movie collectors will be pleased with the great silver finishing on this mold. While the legs may have some kibble, the general proportions are very nice.
Check out all the images, as well as a video review, after the jump. Are you interested in adding this new Megatron mold for your collection? Let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Maybe that\'s me, but knee joints, they\'re not ratchets i know, but look at them, so fragile i think the plastic can get less secure for them with time (from back)

Optimus: *under breath* spank me daddy
Megatron: what
Optimus: what

Unfortunately, it doesn’t detach. It folds up into his body during transformation. Maybe if they make the DNA kit it will have his cannon.

Already preordered 07 Megatron as well as 07 camaro bumblebee! Can’t wait for both!
Sure this Megatron figure has some flaws, with the chest and legs, but honestly I\'m so happy and grateful we finally have 07 Megatron in the studio series line! Now I can complete my 07 studio series collection! Honestly, in my opinion this figure looks much better than the original 2007 leader class and voyager class (with icycles) Megatron.
I bet one day they\'re gonna rerelease this figure, but with icycles on him, with a backdrop display of where he was kept at Hoover Dam, and with a mini figure of Frenzy.

MPM pricing isn't as blown out as G1 MP. MPM Prime was $100 at TRU in 2017, Barricade/Bees are $70+ and MPM Megatron which is freaking huge, is under $200.
Anyways back to this Megatron, I keep hoping the tip of the jet mode is detachable(looks like it might be) and is meant to attach to both arms as a combined arm cannon in robot mode.

In that way MP is probably going the same route that Classics/Universe/Generations was heading in 2008-2010.
A lot of figures in that era had so many panels and were just not fun to transform. The Galvatron, Perceptor, Kup and Ironhide from that era are all really annoying to transform, especially Perceptor and Galvatron since they tried to incorporate alt modes into robot designs that weren't made for them.

In what direction are you speaking of? Watch any old timey movie with slaves and slave drivers and you'll see that they are whipped for disobeying, not working fast enough, stumbling and falling out of exhaustion, etc.
I'm not the one who posed and photographed the photos.

I mean, yes, Megatron has his chain flail weapon. I just don't think you needed to take it in that direction.
Venixion
11th photo. It looks like an angry Megatron is going to beat the shit out of Optimus with a wide whip.
mx-01 archon
What
Venixion
Is that a slave whip? Poor Optimus looks like he's about to be severely punished.
He looks alright. I never understood why Bayverse has dull colored robots?
Evan Wellens
At least those are good toys. I don't know about that Bumblebee though.
cereune
also overengineering. prime v3's ridiculous knees for example.
DecepticusPrime
Him and V3 optimus as well as recent BW figs
Evan Wellens
Dude I still can't wrap my head around how that Bumblebee V2 is that much money, and the figure is just that middle of the road. I guess it goes down to inflation and parts count.
Evan Wellens
Yeah, but people didn't seem to like when they did that with the Optimus Prime either. I do admit it's a cool idea though, it just never seems to work too well in the toy's favor. Both again look great though. The "fuck it" aspect of the Studio Series makes for better toys.
DecepticusPrime
No, not for something thats still a TOY at the end of the day. While MPMs arent as bad, G1MP prices are straight up out of control.
deathzero23
Yeah.. MPM-4 can't transform to clean truck mode and they're asking $150 for it?
Is that "Justified"? ;(
Max Tower
The Vehicle mode is reasonable enough.
mx-01 archon
Eh. The MPM is the best result that could be achieved for the intended goal. It's movie-accurate that the wings fold up and become his shoulder blades. The toy does that. But it can't cheat and shrink the wings such that they can fully retract into his body.
This is similar to how the Optimus Prime design sacrifices a few things just so that it can migrate the truck headlights to his torso.
The designers were trying to replicate the movie mechanics on those toys as much as possible, and no just the looks.
The SS design, by contrast, just says "fuck it" and does whatever it wants to, as long as the end results are close enough.
