Via In Demand Toys we have our first look a the packaging of Siege Leader Astrotrain And Eartrise Voyager Earth Mode Starscream for your viewing pleasure.
Siege Astrotrain will be packaged in robot mode with all his new accessories next to him for better use of the box space. Earthrise Starscream box image shows the same trapezoidal box style of previous Siege figures but with the Earthrise logo in the low part of the window. The colors on the box, at least on Starscream’s box, seem lighter and more vibrant. It’s also good to mention that the packaging just shows “Starscream” on it, with no mention of Screamer’s new Earth mode.
Update: Earthrise Voyager Grapple packaging image added.

You'd have to be blind or dumb as hell to thing this is just an upscaled classics Seeker mold. Having similar design elements or transformation and being a retool or upscale are very different things. It's clearly a totally new design/mold regardless of the homages to an older design.

Which problem? If you're referring to the joke with the Classics package art, that wasn't what I was commenting on. Only problem I see there is people not getting the joke.
rikkomba
I don't think you appreciate the entity of the problem.

I think folks misinterpreted those statements, and are now taking those misinterpretations as gospel. It's clearly heavily inspired by the classics figure, and looks like it transforms very similarly, but they didn't just take the 2006 mold, stretch it out, and call it a day.
This is proven by looking at it. Some major differences include: null rays are now single pieces, not launchers, extra sections in the upper arms (with bicep swivel), and feet are different, folding down instead of up for transformation (and appear to have ankle tilt).
Looking over the sculpted details, while similar (it's supposed to be the same character after all), virtually every detail appears to be at least slightly different (if not substantially different) between the two.

take your time.

Lmao what’s that picture have to do with the earthrise box art ?
Metalwario64
Eh, I feel the proportions of the Siege one match the Sunbow cartoon more. The torso on this one is too long and blocky.
RoboW4rrior298
They’ve directly said that it’s a direct upscale. However, you are correct that we don’t know if they’ve tweaked anything. I believe it was mentioned about an added ankle tilt.
Ramberk Magnus
People keep saying that like it’s a fact. I think it’s more inspired by the old mold with obvious engineering improvements. But we won’t know for sure until we see transformation videos and up close photography.
RoboW4rrior298
It is a great mold however it is showing its age these days but I feel this figure should have been an inspired by rather than a copy and paste upscale
RoadPigJohn
I think this version of Starcream is very accurate…
RoboW4rrior298
Touché, however that chest piece still uses that hinge to come down like the original. I don’t recall the original having that hip skirt.
RoboW4rrior298
They should have something more solid Earth but I still don’t see why Earth is even a thing in a Cybertron themed line. Still pissed they’ve ditched it so early on.

Hrmmm, imagine the other series fans at that announcement.

Re-releasing G1 Starscream this year was not a celebration, it was a market test. The final chapter will be
War For Cybertron: Diaclone
RoboW4rrior298
Not new information that this figure is an upside of Classics Starscream but they’ve made no comment about improved articulation. Those legs won’t be going any higher than 90 and even then maybe not that. I haven’t handled this mold for nearly 8 or 9 years.
Dinobot Snarl
The hip is not moving down.
RoboW4rrior298
Could be wrong but it looks like that hinge is actually for the chest/torso section to move down for transformation. Not the hip piece itself so it wouldn’t move.
Ramberk Magnus
Just wanted to pop in and say I CAN’T WAIT for this guy to get released! I think even with slightly reduced articulation (in comparison to Siege Scream) he’ll still be a home run.
He’s currently my most anticipated ER voyager.
