I already admitted that I confused one nutter with another, and deleted the post you are quoting so… congrats? There's so many crazy people in the comic book industry these days that confusing two with similar names and looks isn't surprising.
As for Bedbug Mags… One tweet? Lol ,okay. This is like saying that Movie Bob has only lovingly talked about mass genocide 'occasionally.' Visaggio is a violent lunatic. Sam Maggs is just your typical talentless hack that cries when she is trolled in a game.

Well, until this thread I wasn't familiar with the author at all but if she angers the gamergate/comicsgate chuds this much then she can't be all bad. However the stories themselves turn out I'm a fan of Umi's work so at least they'll look nice!
Other than being about the wrong person, by "posting all over social media how much they hate 'the CIS' and discussing what sort of violent stuff they want to do to them" do you mean that one entire Tweet that she then deleted and apologised for, admitting it was a really stupid thing to say in the heat of the moment following the attempt to ban trans people from the US military, something she felt pretty strongly about being a trans woman herself?

I might have read this without prejudice, and assessed the writing on its own merits. Now it's all mixed up with other people's baggage. Thanks a lot.
misfire19d
Really? Then Halo multiplayer must have been hell for her.
Rodimus Prime
I admit that I did, but in my defense they look alike.
Oh, OH, she's the idiot who claimed to have been raped in GTA and helped screw up Bioware.

I think people are confusing Sam Maggs with Magdalene Vissagio. They’re 2 different people. One’s a crappy writer and the other’s a crappy writer.
Oh, wait a minute.
Never mind. Carry on.

Just a quick request to keep things civil, and on topic please.
I know that the writer is an inextricable part of the work, but we don’t need the thread to be taken over with discussion/debates about identity politics and that tired old acronym starting with S etc.
Thanks.
GAUGE
Sorry but, what is this Gauge you speak of?
Now that there's something named after me out there that's a Transformer. would be interesting to see.
Waaaaaait a second, Is THIS the GAUGE the title is referring to?

that's kinda neato.
Rodimus Prime
Do you mean the author or the bots? I was interested in this at first due to seeing if Gauge would be worth kit bashing, but Bed Bugs Mags is nucking futs on the same level as Movie Bob, and sucks as a writer.
Megastar
Their all jack@$$!
SPLIT LIP
I’m sure plenty of grown women have bitched about it, too.
Megastar
This has been nothing, but a bunch a bitching from grown men over nothing.
Cosmoglide
yes? there's nothing requiring you to read them.
SPLIT LIP
Is it really new?
Much like all of IDW2, this feels no different from what was done before.
Im saying that given IDW’s track record with rotating writing staff and the often mediocre and limited scope of many of their writers, even some of the better ones, that it is highly unlikely that one proficient in a certain field would be a good candidate for another. Especially ones so different.
Because that’s usually how it is. Most writers these days don’t do well outside of their genres, because few outside of big names have much “range” to their writing. Like I said, you’d have the exact same problem in reverse. If it was a highly prolific writer with decades of credits under their belt it’d be one thing, but IDW likes to jumble its staff randomly to the immediate and obvious detriment of its books.
Though really as I say that, there’s not much quality to the TF comics now as it is, so really how much worse could it get?
Cosmoglide
do you think writers are only ever good at one genre? is that how you think this works?
