Via a post on TFC Toys Weibo, we have images of the gray prototype of their next project: TFC Toys Storm Commander STC-01NB Nuclear Blast Version (Modified Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime).
This release is a very interesting remold of TFC Toys S.T. Commander which was based on an G.I Joe Transformers Optimus Prime Rolling Thunder vehicle concept art by Don Figueroa. Optimus Prime is coming as a powerful and heavily armed G.I Joe Rolling Thunder. The new retool includes a big nuclear missile, a new head with movable helmet, more weapons and several new parts. The big main missile can be attached to the shoulder in robot mode or as a 4-wing jetpack.
If you liked the original Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime mold, we are sure this retool will also please your optics. There’s no concrete information on release date or price, but stay tuned with TFW2005 for more updates.
You can now click on the bar to see the mirrored images and join to the ongoing discussion on the 2005 Boards!

Thanks – you are right! I just checked it. This toy is fantastic. There is so much to do with it – I just got a diaclone mech suit too.

if it’s the part I’m thinking of, I believe that’s to mount the gun on the forearm in one of the robot modes? I’ll have to double check it when I get home, I’ll see if I can take a photo

I wish they'd sell the chambers separately; I've become kind of obsessed with them.

A quick question about STC-01T – what is the removable clip on top of the cab-forming gun for?
Most owner pics have it connected to the top of the gun and in others is completely gone. TFC youtube instructions don’t have it at all. Thanks

Surprised about that. Ive heard that showz does pretty good on getting replacement parts. Though TFC would have to give them the replacement parts first. So Im not sure how TFCs track record is with that.

Super funny considering ShowZ and TFC won't fix the problem.

today i learned what those thigh plates do!
(and not to leave them in the dia-boxes for months on end, they'll get their paint scuffed)

Just put a sticker that says L on it. It will work fine… trust me.

The white one looks pretty cool with Carefray.View attachment 30291020

They are Left and Right parts. You need one with an R and one with an L.
I need a left if anyone has one?

I used Mr color metallic blue green. It matches pretty well and you can make it match better than I did depending on how it’s applied. The way the factory does it is they lay down a silver base coat and a very light blue/green coat on top. I mixed a little bit of silver in to the blue/green to lighten up and applied it over a silver base coat. I went a little heavy on the blue/green but I was air brushing outside and it was a bit windy so I didn’t have as much control as I do when I’m airbrushing with my spray booth. But we’ve got a new baby in the house and I don’t want to air brush indoors. It would be a lot harder to get the same or better results with hand brushing though because you don’t actually have much control over how light your layers of paint can be. Looks really great. What paint did you use for the teal / blue-green for the head? And how well does it match?
