Leading off the newly-christened Robots in Design Transformers TCG Knowledge Base column by Designer Scott Van Essen, Specialist Sandstorm arrives to the Wave 4 fold:
The first thing to note is that he has the same stats in all three modes (6 attack, 1 armor, and 15 health). These are fine stats, but the spice is in his abilities. The core of the Transformers TCG is about change. It’s about finding the right mode to put your characters in for the current moment in the game. Nothing exemplifies that more than Triple-changers, given that they have 50% more modes than most regular characters.
Stay tuned for more Wave 4 news and remember to share your strategies on the 2005 boards!

Some of the cards for Titans like Staggering Might would work well for Fort Max.
Nemesis Scourge
I just play Fort Max with the intend of using his robot mode effect. Same goes for Cerebros. I do not really care for their defensive capabilities. My current build focuses mostly on Orange Black cards – especially Escape Capsule, which is a very helpful card!
Galvacron 3
Pardon me for derailing a tad but what cards would you consider a staple for a Fortress Maximus deck?
Blot
Good to know, thanks!
Nemesis Scourge
Yep, that is correct! Good luck finding 2 "Relentless Invasion" and 3 "Battlefield Incursion" to complete the necessary card set to play them.

Quick question: if I bought a sealed Siege II booster box on ebay (in the WotC shrinkwrap), it would definitely have Trypticon in it, right?
Wreckgar
I can't remember which set but there was 1 where I opened 4 boxes before I pulled the UC I needed. It was worse than a SRT
Carnage73
Reminds me of not pulling Top Shot from my 1st box of Siege I/Wave 3 when that set was released.

I bowed out after Siege I, but I was able to get two boxes of this off Amazon for cheap as an Xmas gift to myself. 1st box had 4 Rares (All 3 Omegas plus Hot Rod), 2nd box had 1 Super-Rare (Lord Megatron) and 4 Rares (2 Omegas, Jetfire, and Detritus). Each box also had one set of Brunt and Six-Gun plus one double from each, but oddly I didn't get one of the Uncommon small cards at all. Weird.

WotC actually does have certain guarantees, not by box, but by case. If you buy a sealed case and don't get a single Super Rare, you can contact them for assistance.
