Courtesy of our very own TFW2005 team at San Diego Comic-Con, we have our first in-hand images of the Transformers Generation Selects Galactic Man Shockwave for your viewing pleasure.
This figure was available at the Entertainment Earth booth in the event, and our team was lucky to grab one. This figure is a great homage to the old Radioshack exclusive “Galactic Man” (also know as “Shackwave” among fans) gray release of G1 Shockwave’s mold. He even has a “Galactic Man” logo on his chest!
Check out more than 70 HQ images of “Shackwave”after the jump, including the exclusive pins that were offered together with the figure today! After that, let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

He is much tighter feeling than the retail shockwave.

I came here to find out of this figure was an exclusive and saw your post and just ordered it.

Agreed. It’s a shame that Botcon is gone but Hasbro is handling exclusive/limited figures really well. Major kudos to them. I never bought Botcon collector’s figure but have rushed out to get some of these store exclusives.

I really think we are only getting the "Selects" line of figures thanks to the demise of FunPub and Botcon. Hasbro saw the market for a line of repaints/redecos targeted at adult collectors and blew the doors wide open. The death of Botcon is unfortunate, but from the perspective of those who cared only for the limited edition toys, it might have been a blessing in disguise.

Yeah i know but i was wondering if there's been any QC issues with this mold being used again. So like say floppy legs or arms as well tabs or pegs not snapping right or even together as they are supposed to do.
Well,…..
I have to give ya that 1 but Amazon does my web browsing and other important things.
all are dead
I havent seen any, but this is the exact same shockwave with new paint.

You could set your graphics card to greyscale and watch a review of the regular version

Has ANYONE did a review of this figure since it became available on the pulse site. Has anyone international did a review as well on it. I'm really interested to see what it's like. I have the first shockwave but this shockwave will be in the collection down the road.

Because any franchise that's become iconic has ignored their more iconic versions in favor of some obscure thing. Kinda like how they don't keep going back to 70's era Batman designs despite how far the movies and comics have taken the character.

Nimama in Taiwan has acquired Galactic Man Shockwave.

Just today I found that Apeface is on preorder also on Amazon.com. I'm confident that also Shackwave will be available there very soon,if I remember well, military SIEGE Megatron has been sold everywhere.

I got a preorder in at BBTS. I'm psyched!

This is up on HasbroPulse, seems to be in stock, not a preorder.
Transformers Generations Selects WFC-GS03 Galactic Man Shockwave

Yes,…..I want him but though i have him already, i like these colors anyway. So like so much that is coming out it's hard to keep track of everything. Then it seems you have too decide what is out now to hurry up and buy now or wait for other stuff to come out and buy that first. Just so much to figure out right now with all this news of new transformers.

Anyone found Ratchet?

Going back to the Archer/Warden thing– people are ignoring (a) Cyberverse and (b) the importance of Generations to Hasbro's bottomline.
During Archer's tenure, Hasbro was trying the broaden the franchise with new toylines like Armada and Animated. Hasbro is still broadening the franchise with new animated shows (New RiD, Cyberverse) but they're also putting a lot of resources into Generations. And we now have "three main branches" to the TF Franchise: Movie, Generations and CUrrent Cartoon. The current cartoon skews younger then Armada and the pre-New RiD stuff but its still there to broaden the audience of fans.
Basically, you can't blame Archer for not being focused on G1 stuff and you can't blame Warden for not focusing on non-G1 stuff. They each had different goals for Hasbro.

Galactic Man looking quite nice and I look forward to having him. Mentally I always think Astro Magnum since IIRC Galactic shared the original's color but either way it's cool.
Not sure why this thread turned into an Aaron Archer vs John Warden thread. I grew up during Archer's run so I have him to thank for making me enjoy this hobby in the first place. Warden I think is doing well and I think each of them did what was best suited for the time. While I do miss getting new and original continuities with good toys accompanying them I do feel it's good that we're finally pulling the G1 fan wank full force so we can get it out of the way but in a way that's stellar enough for all of us to enjoy. As long as stuff keeps coming and UT fans like me get nice homages along the way I'm happy enough.
