The new Transformers: Cyberverse Spark Armor Optimus hit Australian shelves a few days ago, and courtesy of 2005 Boards member griffin-of-oz, we can share for you our first in-hand images of the biggest toy to date in the Transformers: Cyberverse line.
This new Optimus Prime mold is part of the new Cyberverse: Power Of The Spark sub-line and brings us a simple and fun Optimus Prime figure with an Ark vehicle that can split in parts and become a new Spark Armor for the Autobot leader. The combined toy is even bigger than the Cyberverse Ultimate Optimus Prime figure. The images show details of the packaging and inserts, as well as several comparison shots with other Cyberverse Optimus Prime figures.
This mold seems to be a fun toy for sure, but is still an easy-to-transform figure that works better on playability than other aspects like articulation (no knees on this toy, sadly). Click on the bar to see all the mirrored images after the jump and then sound off your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Just picked one of these bad boys up on eBay for half-off. Eventually, that Cyberverse Ark is going to stand-in as shuttle companion for my WFC Titan Ark.

It would've been cool if it made him an homage to Transformers Animated Omega Supreme.
Optimum Supreme
Knees would require extra engineering, extra molds, and extra steps in manufacturing to assemble the figure at the least. It seems simple to end users, who will only have one or a few of each character, but when you apply it to thousands or more of each figure, the tiny little insignificant costs add up and cut into the profits that make it a viable toy to bother putting out there. I mean that's why every figure ever doesn't have every point of articulation possible. Take something like cyber battallion Jetfire. Voyager sized figure sold for $20. But… no knees… Would I prefer it to have knees? Yes, it would have benefited greatly. Would I have spent $30 for it with knees? Maybe, but maybe not. At $20, though, I couldn't pass it up.

If this happens in the show oh man optimus is go on a lay the smack down on megatron

I'd almost agree with you except that UO at least has painted bits on him.

Hasbro has been cutting knees out of select GIJoe (starting with Retaliation), Transformers and Star Wars for years now. Why are we still complaining about this? How many of you were really actually planning to buy this, saw there wasn't any knees and then decided it wasn't worth it? Most likely, this is will end up as a $25 Black Friday toy or at a discount retailer. that's the ONLY way I'm going to probably want this.

Hmm, another knock against it.
Why am I still in this thread?! Peace out!

I don't think so, unless it is a redeco for another base toy. The Ark Armor is very specifically sculpted to only fit this Optimus toy, while most of the others also felt like they were specifically designed to only fit on the base robot that they were paired up with.

I realise how i would see this Prime as a functional giant mech used by Micromasters,
Also driving the ark and having the power to combine the mini Ark with this Micromaster controlled giant Mech of a Prime to fight Unicron.
Every time i buy a tfs, i try to fit it into a story i would write and draw. I know my stories are always full of action, wish i could work for IDW or any company with the tfs licence.

But… but… the vastly improved Design & Engineering makes this toy worth the price mark up.

the next time i get stuck driving behind a wideload i am not going to grumble .
The ark would cause serious tail backs .

This would be a killer statue, might actually try getting him and doing a repaint and bending a pose outa him

Gotta say for the money, this is a pretty basic mold. Sure he's a chunky thing but if they made it so simple for "the children," covering the armored mode in spikes seems like a misstep. Don't think any kids I know would want one of these, I'm imaging seeing these shelfwarming at Target in a few months.

Thanks for taking one for the team @griffin-of-oz.
Ingredients:
1. Hot-boiling water.
2. A bit of elbow grease.
Recipe:
1. Dip Optimus Prime's legs into hot-boiling water until plastic is soft & maleable.
2. Use the elbow grease you cultivated through years spent in the gym to achieve bow-legged illustration.
3. Pray that you haven't screwed up & wasted $79 AUD.

Rather like the Transformers Prime Optimus wearing Unicron armour.
I don't have to pay to much attention to these I'll be able to pick them up cheap eventually in an ARGOS sale since they sell them all.
I'd still like to know if the armour is interchangable across other toys (on the smaller sized ones anyway)
RoyalRotomthattransforms
That is pretty true. (Though that's not saying much in my opinion.)

me too. A walmart finally clearanced the $35 OP + Trailer set – i paid $9, but had to watch it for six months.
though – maybe walmart will get smart and not overstock these Ark ones. or will my luck they won’t stock them at all. there’s hardly any shelf space for Cybertron.

This toy is much better than Ultimate Optimus.

If only they made a Megatron with Nemesis armor. Then the fandom will have no reason to keep going, we'd have achieved everything
RoyalRotomthattransforms
Too bad
I don't need another Prime toy but the Ark that I do need.
