Once again, thanks to Fans Toys Weibo we can share for you the final color images of Fans Toys FT-42 Hunk (Masterpiece Scaled Brawn) and we are sure your optics will be pleased with the gallery.
This is another Fans Toys entry for the competitive Masterpiece scaled market, and they are bringing us an impressive cartoon-accurate rendition of the tough Autobot warrior. The images show off a very nice shiny finishing and some of the extra accessories like an alternate angry face (which looks great for photos) and the iconic drill for Brawn’s alt mode as seen in the G1 Cartoon.
You can see all the mirrored images after the jump, and then you can chime in your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

I finally got to open my fan toys Hunk (Brawn)
I really like it and the instructions were pretty good too. Although it took me awhile to get him transformed I finally got it.

Ended up using both! The smaller one on his belly, and the bigger one of the hood of car.
Overall I found him a nice figure, a great representation of the cartoon look on both modes, and the transformation OK. It's not that complicated and quite intuitive, but I'm not that comfortable with the backpack flopping around.
No paint issues, tolerances are OK for the most part, articulation it's good, but I do miss some ankle movement.

That is a lie, perpetrated by men with small faction symbols.

The way I understand it is, size doesnt matter
MoonchildVic
Just got mine from ShowZ, but I'm having trouble deciding the size of the faction logo.
What's your opinion? Shall I go with the bigger or smaller one?
I kind of feel that it should be something in the middle of these two.

I've checked yesterday and it was "sold out", checked again today he was available so I jumped right in. I have no idea on how do they manage their stock/availability on their site, but I guess I was just lucky.
I've been waiting to add this guy to my collection for quite some time, and the opportunity finally came.
SquishyOH
$114.99 at ShowZ, in-stock and shipping right now. Looks like they've got 15 of them for sale.

I can't remember. Though one side is smooth, and the other side is ribbed to keep it in place. You have to center the pin when you place it back, because it can interfere with the tabs.

I found when I did mine, if you go by the pin from the panel attached to it, you can see the gnarled end of it on one side. The pin you're knocking out should have the gnarled end on the SAME side (mine was left side).
I would add that I know why my panel was a bit to fold the other way–the hinges are designed 'flat' on that side, but I was able to fold mine over them and back without stressing. Maybe on Outback, they rounded them a bit more?
ObsessionTF
I’m gonna try this.
Which way did you punch the pin out?
Faxie
Lol, gotta love all the edits
Well there you have it people. We fixed it!

Pun-3X
It's fine–see above!
Faxie
Strange… the Outback flap looks exactly the same…
Gonna try it now.
edit: It does work, but the panel needs a bit more force to fold the other way. Doesn't feel like 'I'm gonna break it' force.
Pun-3X
Okay, got it figured out. That's how mine does normally. Sits flat up against the roof, then folds c-shape around the hood when folded down. In that switched configuration, the panel wouldn't fold that way, and didnt want to force it. Gave it a little more push and it does go that way (mine was just tight). Thanks for sharing!

Haven't done it yet, but I figured it wouldn't be a problem because Outback has the panel the exact same way. The original FT video has it that way, and a BobbySkullface video too. Haven't checked others, but my guess was that that's just the way the panel has to be.
(edit: in the video's the panel is not folded in half when it's in robot mode. Entire panel sits flat against the roof and folds along when the rear part is folded in)

I just used a diamond file to shave off a tiny bit (less than 1/10mm) to allow the hinge to fold a bit more. Works well enough. Took about 30 sec but had to be super careful.
Pun-3X
Have you tried putting him back in robot mode? I just tried this trick, and while it looks good and works for altmode, the panel doesn't fold back the right way for the backpack parts to store properly. Can't figure out a different configuration, except to let the back end hang out more on his back.
EDIT: Yeah, just put mine back. Maybe it makes some kind of sense, but I couldn't get it to store at all and reassembled the original way.
