Via Toyworld Weibo Account we can share some great images of their upcoming Toyworld TW-F09 Freedom Leader Prototype.
Toyworld is bringing a great rendition of Optimus Prime as seen in the Bumblebee movie, and we are sure this prototype will please your optics. The mold looks highly detailed as if he was taken from the movie. The figure seems quite tall in robot mode next to 3A DLX Bumblebee action figure and Studio Series Voyager Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime. The alt mode looks pretty solid and really big compared to the Studio Series Stinger as seen in the shared images. You may place your bets on the right scale of this project. There’s still no concrete information on price or release date yet.
Click on the bar to see all the images, but keep in mind that this is an early prototype and several changes could be made in the final product. Then, chime in your impressions on the 2005 Boards.

I'm boycotting the accessory pack. That's just insulting.

I understand the sentiment. Can't fault you for thinking that way. But if the ThreeZero model was a nearly perfect representation of the screen model, and then MM01 is a near perfect copy of that detail… IDK… I think the only thing left to have issue with is that it may actually be a KO at some part of the process. At that point it is more principal and less product.

@octobotimus Yup yup…as much as I love this figure…I can't fully give it a COMPLETE green…good to go…sticker. But the flip side too…was…whoever behind it was at least smart enough to realize it could be done just as MP-10 was as well, that part gets a green from me. That's why what @datterboy said just sits well too. Good moves…questionable accessory pack…and that giant base that could have been used for storage, but nah.

Idk just for some reason that figure doesn’t sit right with me. It’s priced like a super high quality 3rd party figure but comes off to me almost like a KO with how much was copied over. It also has the same problems as other primes with the entire legs just sticking out since it’s transformation is basically like MP-10 applied to the TZ figure.
They also had the balls to announce a potentially $70 upgrade kit with stuff that should have been included instead of the massive useless stand it has.

Lower cost is always favorable, but getting a Threezero caliber figure WITH transformation AND a solid build is pretty sick. Hard to complain considering it that way.
octobotimus
I would too if it didn’t cost as much as the original thing.

Been looking to sell this thing locally and absolutely no one wants it, lol.

Well, Mr Freedom Leader is in the cabinet with his mates, looks good.
datterboy
I approve of this approach and the outcome.

Well said

As cool as MM-01 is, its pretty obvious it was a Threezero figure they copied over then remodeled the limbs of to incorporate transformation joints into, and then slapped onto a new more blocky transforming torso. Even the knee engineering, hands, gun and inaccurate head were all carried over.
TW was a solid effort and proportionally was pretty good. just made by a shit company

I'm one of the crazies who actually still likes TW Prime. MM is nice – just watched a review for the first time and it's damned impressive looking (though that 90 degree elbow is pretty limited) – but I never really got the hate for TW. Aside from the chest not locking in great (which is mostly solvable) and the feet hanging off the back of the truck, I think he's great. He's one of the figures I kept out of storage when my wife and I had to move to a smaller place because I just like him that much (most of my collection is in boxes).
One minor but really nice feature of TW Prime: his lights will turn themselves off after a while. Light up features on figures pretty much always mean nothing to me because they're battery operated so I can't just leave them on and I can't be bothered to turn them off after five minutes or whatever so I just never turn them on. But with FL's lights, I can turn them on whenever the whim strikes me and just leave them. Like I said, it's a minor feature but, for me at least, any figure that doesn't have that feature might as well not even bother having lights at all.

As much as I want MM-01 too, its not in stock almost everywhere lol

@X Wing Flyboy it's a weird world…I have always worked a lot…3 jobs as a "kid"…I work 12 hour days so I can buy toys…I buy a lot. I don't wish anyone to work as much as I do to buy plastic crack…
I'm also envious of people who don't work as much as me and make 2x what I do
X Wing Flyboy
Not if one doesn't have the cash to buy it hence, I got FL.
Atomic Tofu
@X Wing Flyboy yeah but…MM01 is actually worth it though @35:00

I do love the look off MM01 too but FL was at least £150 cheaper so FL it was.
I do intend on picking that one up after the M-09 arrives. Going for a BB Prime focus as its my total fave after G1.

Not sure I get how garterbelt-y it is? I'm leaning more towards MM simply because It's not hell to mess around with, but I do like Freedom leader for its paintjob and the rather smart shoulder armor rotation.

Maybe because it looks like he's wearing a garter belt? U made the right choice @X Wing Flyboy
