2005 Boards member pokemonsdoom brought our attention to a small detail in the instructions of the Japanese Takara Tomy release of Studio Series Scrapmetal.
There’s an indication on where to attach Scrapmetal’s small shield piece (made of a panel from the excavator mode) in his combiner mode. Scrapmetal forms the left hand/claw of Devastator and according to the extra image on the Japanese instructions, you just have to connect the shield on one of the “fingers” in this mode. Hasbro instructions didn’t mention what to do with this shield, leaving it up to you.
Takara Tomy Website has also uploaded a pdf file of the instructions, so you can check it out (61 megs file, though). Alternatively, click on the bar to see the mirrored images on this news post.

Yeah on a finger like a ring

Ah thankfully I was comfirmed on where to put it on

I mean I can see what you mean. The supreme one is just kinda too basic and not fun enough for me. It also doesn’t have overload or scrapmetal so it’s not entirely accurate.
DecepticusPrime
No but I have never gotten super worked up about colors and perfect color accuracy. I'm more about a damn fun toy
Digger
Woh you’d get that?
DecepticusPrime
Shrugs shoulders. To each their own. I'm sure the old supreme devy is still available

An unfortunate part about being a combiner. The need for accuracy in combiner mode trumped the color choice of the single d00d.

he looks better in red

I'm glad they went the direction with this to not only do Devy but also the individual characters that matter. And unfortunately rampage was red.

I\'m still wondering where the other two team members you see momentarily in the Movie disappear too.
But that is as much a mystery as the whole 2 Rampages or \"Ze Little one\" seemingly being the left hand of Devstator when he was killed and left at the bottom of the Ocean.
But his existance does at least clear up the Volvo excavator on the ship\'s deck at least I guess.
I really pleased to eventually get some form of Overload and Scrapper though i\'d have paid silly money for a 3rd party toy of either of those even without the combination ability.
Hopefully eventually they will repaint Rampage 2 (whatever that one properly should be called) in the proper yellow colours too.
I\'ll be interested to see the Mixmaster toy a bit more clearly as I\'m curious how they will handle the robot mode.

I've seen some people raise some concern as to Overload bearing the entire weight of the figure, which, as funny as the name Overload is for a dude who forms the load bearing point, i don't think we have anything to worry about. I have a suspicion he will do one of those Roadtrap esq split his whole body in two and form the crotch that way.
Lets assume that his hip joints will be some of the heavy combiner ratchets we've already been seeing. I got my hands on Rampage and let me tell ya the center ratchet that provides big dev with his ankle tilt is. HEAVY. I don't think tolerances and weight bearing is anything we gotta worry about.
the next thing is, despite him standing on just his back legs in the promo images, Devastator has ALWAYS been depicted on all fours in a gorilla esq stance, so even if he cannot stand on only his rear legs (Which I'm certain he will do effortlessly) you can always pose him on all fours.
Honestly the only thing im worried about is Mixmaster. I just want a red face plate, i think Dev has always looked better with red plates instead of just metal face plates.

He's carrying the whole team on his shoulders.
Or at least 60% of it.

Just a couple things:
First Jetfire\'s gun mode and now this. I know it\'s not huge, but shouldn\'t the instructions be the same (aside from the language) since Hasbro and Takara\'s figures are now supposed to be the same?
Secondly, are we 100% sure that Scavenger and Overload are leader class and not the new commander class? I\'m just wondering because I\'ve seen posts stating it\'s leader class, but I have yet to see anything official. Even looking at the prototype and knowing they were trying to keep a semblance of \"scale\", it would almost appear that at least Scavenger would be bigger than leader class size.

Hence his namesake lol

Hey apparently according the translation app i have those characters mean roughly "attach weapon to finish up combine mode" i had to fix the grammer slightly so its a weapon on his finger that does….
DecepticusPrime
More concern for overload that's gonna basically bear all of the weight.
microclone
The piece does seem redundant even if it does very firmly clip the arms together in alt mode, that could have been achieved with a peg between the arms, maybe it is going to be some stabiliser between 2 pieces later as even as a shield on arm or finger! it seems out of place.
Skyquake21
Makes me wonder what kind of toy Scavenger/Demolishor will be. Cuz its going to be massive. And for a unicycle with shovel arms that turns into a giant chest, im only concerned how it will support a Mixmaster that would be top heavy af. But we\'ll see
DecepticusPrime
Considering that it looks dumb as hell, i dont see that being final
