Well you could always save up. This will be cheaper than the non DLX version.

Honestly, this is my favorite iteration / design of Optimus Prime ever. He's my favorite bot and it's taken this long to find something that I could call near perfect. I really do want this statue but I'm 100% sure I can't afford it… ah well

It would be very hard to replicate. In the movie, he does have a single circler light source like in this statue, however, the light source in his eye fills up his entire diamond eye socket. They would have to incorporate multiple light sources to give it the same effect. Though, they may have been able to defuse the light with some kind of translucent film.

this looks really good, but I have to ask why they gave him the Bayformer beady eyes, when the film version had the nice diamond eyes from G1

I think some people have said it’s like the main series prime that Milne most famously drew. I think. Unless there’s a more similar design. But otherwise there’s no obvious connections.

Nah it's not silly at all. If you look at the design it does deviate from the cartoon model in spots, the shoulder armor is clearly based on the g1 toy's shoulders, and while Prime had the arrows on his arms in the cartoon, they didn't make the arrows yellow until way later (Correct me if I'm wrong but I think MP-1 was the first Prime with yellow arrows). It does have alt mode part integration too, someone else just pointed out how the thighs become the truck bumper, and this is meant to be his Cybertron design not his earth design. I love bayformer designs but these are already more alt mode parts than say, Knight Optimus.
Do you know how many IDW Optimus designs there are? gonna have to be more specific. Though nothing about this design feels inspired by the IDW Optimuses to me right now.

Oh my god you’re right! I love that!
Another small difference, he has small circles on the silver stripes of his shoulders instead of dashes. Much like the studio series figure.
Except that we’ve never had this kind of prime? And it’s incredible that after years of bayverse prime it change in such a way? Like it looks detailed like a robot and still looks like Optimus. We’ve never seen him transform either so there’s no real way you can prove it doesn’t translate to an alt mode. Especially when it has clear parts of the alt mode on him. I dunno man. Enjoy your day.

Good spotting! That's an incredible design move.

I just realized, the silver parts on the front of Prime's thighs are the halves of the truck's front fender!

Where's the Masterpiece figure.

judging from what we've seen of it, yeah, i actually have full faith they are going to pull it off.

Can't wait for the ToyWorld version to look like this and also transform.

I think this is just the modern updated OP design that a lot of people have wanted since 2007. It took me till DotM to warm up to bayverse designs. I still think they look cool but I also think OP should at least have his G1 silhouette in some way or another. His original design is timeless, like Spider-Man. It can be updated but no reason to really change it too much. IMO of course.

His smokestacks are different. His shoulders have 2 slits right below the Autobot logo on his Cybertronian mode and two circles on his Earth mode. He has different wheels. His arms have blue on his Cybertronian mode while his Earth mode arms are red with truck kibble and no blue parts.

It's a little silly that everyone is so gaga for this version of OP. There's nothing spectacular about it. They took the simplistic G1 cartoon model and gussied it up with random panels, tubes, and widgets that don't translate to alt mode in any meaningful way. I really find it crazy that the same folks who constantly complain about "bayformers" can praise this thing. Which is simply a frankenstein of the movieverse and G1 designs.
Also, I hope whoever created IDW Optimus gets some credit for this, as it is clearly the inspiration.
Sovietbot
The only mistake from Prime 1 Studio.
